The tiny coastal village of Hallsands is steeped in history. In the early 1900s high tides and easterly gales battered the fishing village’s defences, and many of the houses were left in ruins. Remains of the old village can still be seen today, including the old stone chapel, and the stories of that fateful night live on. Perched on the Hallsand’s cliffs, with breathtaking views of Start Bay, is Bayview. This tastefully converted coastguard’s cottage is ideal for large families and is also one of our dog-friendly holiday cottages. From here, you’ll be able to explore the magnificent South Devon coastal paths and discover the area’s beautiful golden sandy beaches. You’ll also be a short drive away from the historic market towns of Kingsbridge and Dartmouth.
