Mayflower Court is ideally located just a few minutes level walk from the heart of Dartmouth, a unique town and the jewel of the South Hams. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its branching estuary and rolling countryside, Dartmouth is as relaxing as it is intriguing, with flights of winding steps, narrow streets, medieval buildings and a long, picturesque embankment. The town offers gourmet restaurants, ancient bars, lively cafés, boutiques and specialist shops. Sail, fish, go crabbing, explore on foot or by boat, visit during the Music Festival, the Regatta or the Food Festival, there is something for everyone at every time of year; Dartmouth is truly a town for all seasons, with many visitors returning again and again.

No 7 was refurbished in 2013 and 2014, and provides very comfortable, tasteful accommodation accessed via steps up to a communal lobby and well-kept stairs to the first floor. Front door into the apartment and hallway with coat hooks. The split level living room has fantastic views over the River Dart through a large picture window, solid oak flooring, comfortable sofa, two poang chairs, 32” flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD/CD player, stereo radio, oak coffee table and dining table to seat 4. The kitchen is well equipped including a fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, electric hob, electric oven and microwave. The new bathroom has a bath, separate walk in shower, hand basin, WC, heated towel rail, fan heater and shaver point. The two bedrooms both have pine beds and pine furniture including full length wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside tables. The double bedroom has a 5ft bed and, like the living room, a raised seating area with wonderful views of the river. The twin bedroom has 3ft beds and full length mirror.

To the rear of the apartment block is an enclosed private courtyard with a single parking space for each flat. The fire escape leads from the parking area to the kitchen door.

  • Included: Bed linen, bath and hand towels (no beach towels), tea towels and kitchen towel, Wi-Fi, heating (night storage and convector heaters) and electricity.
  • Telephone: No telephone but mobile reception good.
  • Local Facilities: Dartmouth Golf and Country Club, 4 miles. Guests are entitled to a 25% discount on the green and leisure facilities.
  • Beach: Blackpool Sands 3 miles. Shops, pubs, restaurants and the river embankment a minute’s stroll away. Marks and Spencer’s “Simply Food”, Mayors Avenue Garden and Coronation Park are only 100 metres away and there is a large Sainsbury’s on the outskirts of Dartmouth.

The property review scale does not work and all the points are stuck on 'Excellent' but that is ok as I would have put it there anyway!! As always, we enjoyed our stay at number 7. I did contact you this time regarding us wishing a third person to stay for a couple of days and you acknowledged that. Unfortunately this did not seem to be conveyed to the caretaker as there wasn't a third set of towels; however, our relative was not able to join us in the end after all so everthing was ok. I just thought I would mention it so you can make sure that on another occasion the message gets through. Thank you for the otherwise excellent service.

After our last visit we recommended the flat to two other couples -both couples stayed this year and really enjoyed the flat especially one couple who spent longer inside as they were very unfortunate with the weather.!!

WE had another EXCELLENT holiday - We met Mr.BROWN --(he was staying in his property next door for a few days)and again he apologised for the noise disruption from the carpet laying operation in the flat above--(the owner of that flat also made a point of apologising))--all very friendly and civilised!! After the rather Dickensian Ivy Cove last year no 7 Mayflower Court was absolute luxury. It was thoughtfully equipped, beautifully decorated and furnished, superb new bathroom. I'd like to stay again next year.
