Description

73 Upper Barn is a quirky, spacious and welcoming three-bedroom “upside-down” cottage central to the Maenporth facilities. Popular with families, it’s perfectly located for the kids to do their own thing whilst you take some quiet time to yourselves. Upstairs, you’ll find a cosy, tastefully-decorated, large open-plan living and dining area, and a modern, well-equipped kitchen. Downstairs, the master bedroom has an en-suite shower room. There are two further bedrooms and a family bathroom. Both the twin and the master bedroom open out on to the private patio area, with a table and chairs for family meals.

Maenporth is an exclusive, secluded resort overlooking a beautiful sheltered cove, but close to the bustling port town of Falmouth, with its historical associations. The countryside around here is glorious: perfect for those who enjoy peace and quiet, the coast, and the great outdoors. The houses that comprise the resort are sheltered by established trees, and there’s a good restaurant and bar overlooking the family friendly beach where guests can unwind, enjoy some good food and watch the world go by. The resort has a large indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, 2 tennis courts, a children’s play area and a games room with table tennis and pool table. There are plenty of scenic walks along the South West Coastal Path for those who want the exercise, and the sandy beach will keep adults and children endlessly entertained. It’s a great destination for families or couples all year round.

Access is via the private front door. The entrance hall has a cupboard containing the washing machine/tumble dryer. Upstairs is the open-plan Living room with sofas, TV and DVD. Dining area with table and seating for 6. Well-equipped kitchen with hob, integrated oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dish washer. Downstairs is Master bedroom 1  with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, WC, hand basin and heated towel rail. Doors to private patio with open grassed area beyond. Bedroom 2 with a double bed. Bedroom 3 with twin single beds and a patio door leading onto the garden. Family bathroom with bath and shower over, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.

21st April 2018 - 73 Upper Barn is a beautiful, spacious property, the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing holiday with family or friends. It is extremely well equipped and furnished to a very high standard creating a lovely ambiance. The location on the Maenporth estate and close to the amenities of Falmouth and the beauty of the Helford river is second to none. We have had several exceptional family holidays at this property and on the Maenporth estate and hope to be visiting again soon.


January 2019

30th September 2017 - We needed a house with a large living space as we were away with a family group of 14 spread across various Maenporth properties. This one absolutely fitted the bill. Very homely with loads of space for everyone to come together and to sit in groups to play team games (we're a competitive lot!). We cooked most evenings and found the kitchen to be extremely well equipped. Huge fridge - accommodated lots of beer and wine. Oven was great, the hob could do with a bit of an update as rather slow to perform but ok once you learn to work with it. The property is in a really quiet location, very close to but not overlooking the leisure centre. Wi-fi worked well. The key safe is a great idea for when couples are independently out an about. All in all, I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
