Church House is a fascinating 16th Century listed period property in East Looe, Cornwall, featuring magnificent granite archways, masses of beams and fine panelling. Reputedly once a tavern, the house is tucked away down the narrow streets in the old town of East Looe, just a short walk from the beach and the array of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops this seaside town has to offer. The house is comfortably furnished with the benefit of a little 'garden room' which opens onto a small, private, paved courtyard. Church House has undergone major refurbishment to a high standard whilst still retaining fine period features, so it is oozing with character and is a delightful, unusual house in which to enjoy a holiday. If you follow the Heritage Trail around the town of Looe, Church House features as being of historical significance. Furthermore, there is an abundance of fabulous Cornish attractions within easy reach of this property, so couples and families alike will definitely not be short of entertainment.

Please Note: This property may not be suitable for the disabled or infirm due to the spiral staircase up to the living room and master bedroom.

Spacious kitchen/diner with gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer and oak dining table to seat six. Twin bedroom with 2 x 3ft single zip-linked beds (can be converted into 6ft superking size bed - if required, please request this at the time of booking) and en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC. Steps lead up to an attractive ‘garden room' with seating, low ceiling beams and large patio doors opening onto small, paved rear courtyard. Wide spiral stairs lead to the large sitting room with two generous sofas, flat screen TV with DVD and fireplace with woodburning stove. Master bedroom with 5ft kingsize double bed, exposed high ceiling beams and en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC.  On the same level is the family bathroom with bath, handheld shower, wash hand basin and WC. 

Rear sunny courtyard accessed via the 'garden room', with garden table and chairs.

Traffic permitting, it is possible to stop briefly within a few yards of the property to unload.

No designated parking space currently available. 

Public parking available in local car parks in East and West Looe (fees apply).  

  • Included: Bed linen, towels (No beach towels are provided, so guests are asked to bring their own), WiFi, electricity and central heating (gas).  Fuel for woodburning stove can be purchased locally.

Church House was both comfortable/homely and full of wonderful historical detail. All equipment was well chosen & good quality The location was perfect for us; we travelled down by train and found Upper Chapel St both convenient for travel, coastline and shopping and surprisingly quiet & peaceful.

I would just like to add how very helpful the housekeeper Dilly Crago is.On the first night we had no hot water ,but we rang him and he came straight down and fixed it for us it was just a question of water pressure but we didnt like to touch it.He also came back the next day and changed the twin beds into a queen size bed which was lovely.All in all he was a really nice and helpful man who also gave us lots of information about in and around looe. Very efficient in all that he did for us.
