Only 10 minutes from the sea and just 3 miles from the Eden Project, this quaint little converted cider press with inverted accommodation and double glazing stands across the river from the original mill, surrounded by peaceful grounds and woodland.
Situated in the quintessentially Cornish Luxulyan Valley (no mobile or phone reception) with great natural beauty and recently awarded World Heritage Site status, the riverside garden runs down to the banks of the boulder-strewn River Par which forms part of the boundary.
Luxulyan village and St Blazey, 1.5 miles respectively, each have a pub and local shop/P.O., for a wider selection of amenities, the towns of Lostwithiel, Fowey and St Austell are all within a 15 minute drive. The large, south facing beach at Par Sands and the small sandy harbour beach at Polkerris are both about a 10 minute drive away and there are boat trips available departing from Fowey.
There are several golf courses within the immediate vicinity and the Saints Way coast-to-coast recreational route passes nearby linking Padstow in the north to the southern port of Fowey. Cycling is also available locally on The Camel Trail and in Cardinham Woods.

A short walk (100 yards) via a gravel path leads through the orchard to the secluded front terrace where there is a spacious outdoor hot tub (additional charge) for the visitors' sole use. From here, a covered entrance porch and glazed door.

Ground floor bedroom with a 5ft double bed, a high beamed ceiling. In one corner of the room, a carpeted open tread staircase leading up the the living area.

There is a fitted kitchen area with solid oak units incorporating an electric oven and ceramic hob, a dining table and chairs. Kitchen appliances include a dishwasher, fridge, electric hob, and oven, microwave. A washer/dryer is also included.

Galleried open-plan living room on the first floor with television, a cosy and comfortably settee and armchair with views of the countryside from several windows.

There are garden table and chairs on the front terrace which catches the afternoon sun and trails lead through the woods to both the lawned garden and orchard bordered on one side by the river and its small tumbling waterfalls. Garden is not enclosed. Barbecue provided. A hot tub can be made available at the property upon separate request, paid direct to the owner £165 a week. Please note that the hot tub is not included in the standard facilities provided, as its operation cannot be guaranteed.

Wingz Bird and Animal Sanctuary

The Wingz Bird and Animal Sanctuary was originally built using his own private collection of birds and animals. A family venture, it opened to the public after 2006, they now have relationships with zoos around the world and are able to benefit from breeding loans and swaps to allow visitors to see both common birds and animals, as well as rare and endangered species. They also help organisations and individuals like the RSPCA with rehoming and rehabilitation work. When you visit you can meet or adopt the animals you see, pop into Waffles Coffee Shop for hot food at the weekends and have sandwiches and light bites any day. There’s free parking, a picnic area, a gift shop and all necessary facilities. There’s also a dog kennel that’s free of charge for four legged friends while you visit, and prices start at £6.95 for adults and £4.95 for children. My husband and I had an amazing week at the Cider Press at the end of September 2021. Although the weather wasn't always the best, it was great to have the cottage as a base and somewhere to go when we wanted a rest following all the exploring we got up to! It has everything you need and you feel very much at home from the minute you step inside. The hot tub was brilliant and a lovely way to relax at the end of the day, under the stars. The location is great and very local to a lot of attractions (highly recommend getting a taxi to Colwith Farm Distillery). Will definitely book again!

The cider press is a stunning little cottage, where you'll want for nothing. This coupled with the amazing gardens and setting, make it a little patch of heaven. There's so many places to explore and visit nearby, and at the end of the day, sitting in the hot tub listening to the babbling River and owls hooting, is magical. A definite 6 out of 5!
