Situated in a delightful riverside location less than a 10 minute walk alongside the river to the town and beach. A deceptively spacious riverside cottage within easy reach of the beach and shops – a lovely base for a relaxing holiday. Located in the heart of this unspoilt Dorset seaside town, a perfect choice for those seeking a seaside cottage with all the amenities on the doorstep.
Within a ten minute walk, guests can meander down to Lyme Regis bustling sea front and promenade. Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis is well known for its literary association with Jane Austen as well as its diverse geology which people from across the world flock to in the hunt for fossils. The historic old town retains an olde worlde charm with small streets filled with galleries, boutique shops and famed gastro restaurants and cafés. Its sheltered south facing beaches are safe for children and water sports enthusiasts alike with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour. For those who would like a change of scene and a day away from the beach, the surrounding rolling countryside, which is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts walking and cycling in abundance or perhaps while away a few days exploring pretty East Devon fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe or head to the market town of Axminster to sample Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen.
Fully fitted kitchen equipped with electric double oven and hob, microwave and fridge with icebox. Leading off the kitchen is the cloakroom with WC, washbasin and a washer/dryer. The kitchen leads through to the dining room with table and chairs to seat six. The lounge is furnished with sofa and armchairs, flatscreen TV and DVD player. Stairs from the lounge to the first floor. Bedroom 1 with 4ft 6inch double bed and en-suite shower room. Bedroom 2 with a 4ft 6inch double. Bedroom 3 with a 3ft single bed. Family bathroom with mixer taps, WC and washbasin.
To the rear of the property is a small garden, ideal for sitting out. However, due to the uneven ground, the garden is not really suitable for children to play in – they will need to be supervised.
To the front of the property is a parking space for a medium size car.

The location was perfect with a lovely walk along the river and an easy fairly level walk to the beach. We are likely to book the cottage again. The welcome pack was very much appreciated.
had a lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to return ourselves or recommend to others.
We were very impressed with Crays Cottage. It had a nice feel about it and was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. The welcome basket was a lovely gesture - thanks. We needed to phone the property management team one day to ask them to alter the clock for the heating to come on a bit earlier and found them to be very friendly and efficient. We are hoping to book Crays again next summer
Lovely cottage - clean and comfortable with a nice feeling. Nice touch with welcome basket. Good friendly and efficient service from property management team when requested heating timer to be changed. Will definitely book Crays again and hoping to do a two-location holiday next year with a Toad Hall cottage in KIngsbridge.
We were really impressed with Crays Cottage. The location was perfect and the cottage had a lovely feel about it. Many thanks for the welcome basket and cleaning equipment box - a lovely gesture! We were also impressed with the text message on arrival and when needing to phone the property maintenance company to alter the time settings on the central heating we had really efficient service. We will be looking into booking this cottage again next summer and possibly making a two location booking for two weeks to include a Toad Hall property in Kingsbridge.
It was very convenient and we had a lovely stay
As we had an older dog we perhaps should have chosen a property with a garden. However the location was great for short walks. A very pretty area. They were resurfacing a road at the back of us which meant noise early morning (before 7.30) but that cannot be controlled.
Yes we thoughrly enjoyed our stay, and would love to return, everything was on hand and couldn’t ask for better. Thank you.
Had a very enjoyable stay and enjoyed all that Lyme Regis had to offer.
A beautiful cottage, well placed in location
We had a lovely week and would recommend the cottage to anyone. There was plenty of room and the kitchen was particularly well equipt - everything you could need was available. The whole place was warm, welcoming and cosy. We would definitely stay again. Many thanks.
The property has a well equipped kitchen. It's an extremely clean comfortable place to stay. After experiencing a slight problem, which was not an emergency,I called the office. The lady I spoke to was polite and helpful, within 5 minutes she was back on the phone having arranged for a plumber to call later that day. We went on holiday with a different company earlier this year. The beds hadn't been changed, the whole place inside and out was neglected and dirty, leaving us quite depressed. Thank you toad hall cottages for our lovely break. We will certainly use you again.
Despite my comments above we enjoyed our stay. The good points of the property are location, parking (however restricted), good heating and hot water on demand and sizeable bathroom and shower room.
We found Crays Cottage is a quirky, comfortable cottage in a good location close to the town, well equipped and clean. We found the garden a bit of a challenge but our small terrier enjoyed climbing the steep steps! We really enjoyed our stay in Lyme Regis, although the weather wasn't great. The central heating in the cottage was very efficient so we were able to dry our wet clothes! Toad Hall Cottages were very efficient and helpful throughout our dealings with them, we would definitely use them again.
We had a lovely stay, location being the main attraction! The email sent prior to our arrival with the different events going on was brilliant & have never had anything like that before. So useful to know what's going on.
