Fairyfield is a superb, very private detached house on the South Devon coast with only one near neighbour, all on one level and with stunning views from most rooms across a wonderful seascape that sweeps across Start Bay to the lighthouse. Here there is nothing but the murmur of the sea below, the sound of bird song and the wind rustling through the pines to disturb the wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. Of the highest quality and contemporary in style, the house is elegant yet supremely comfortable and features fine oak floors throughout. Set on the outskirts of the thriving village of Stoke Fleming that has a well-known pub, historic church, village stores and with the proximity of Dartmouth, the coastal path and the famous Blackpool Sands beach, this stylish and very comfortably furnished property is a must. A welcome pack is provided on arrival.

Please Note: This property will accommodate a maximum of 8 guests including infants. Babies up to the age of 12 months do not count as guest numbers.

A glazed front door leads into a spacious hallway with cloaks cupboard. The most attractive and spacious living room has triple aspect windows and two sets of sliding patio doors, all to make the most of the views. Three generous sofas and chairs surround a fireplace with modern woodburner stove, TV, Hi-Fi system with iPod jack, dining table to seat 8. The very smart kitchen area is well fitted and equipped with a ceramic electric hob, eye level double ovens, microwave, freezer and large integral fridge, dishwasher, radio and breakfast bar with stools. Adjoining utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, boiler and door to a porch at the side of the property. Off the central hallway is a large shower room with corner shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC. Snug sitting/TV room with a sofa, bean bags and flat screen TV with DVD. Bathroom with double ended bath, central taps and hand shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC. A fabulous master bedroom suite features a wonderfully spacious bedroom with 5ft bed that faces a huge picture window with stunning sea views, comfortable sofa, TV, a fireplace housing a wood burner and a magnificent armoire for clothes storage. En-suite shower room with double size shower enclosure, heated towel rail, basin and WC. A French door leads onto the terrace. Two twin bedrooms (one with fitted cupboard) both with 3ft beds and lovely views over the terrace to the sea. A third twin bedroom with 3ft beds and pine wardrobe is at the side of the house.

The house is reached down a long no-through lane that leads to only a few houses and the last part of which is unmade so may not be suitable for low slung cars. A path leads down to the front door and the gardens extend around the seaward side of the house. A paved terrace extends from the house with picnic table, sun loungers, barbecue and a deck area is supplied with table and chairs. A level lawn then slopes down to a further area of grass with wild flowers and cut paths edged with shrubs and fenced where it drops away down to the sea. A gated path with cut steps and a rope handrail leads down the cliff side to two level areas, all with amazing views. On the lower level a circular open sided summerhouse with table and bench seating for 10 looks out from the cliff top over Start Bay. Roll up canvas sides offer protection in wet weather.

Please note: Children will need supervision in the garden.

The village of Stoke Fleming is situated in a stunning clifftop position and enjoys panoramic views across Start Bay. The village is located within a mile of the beautiful family-friendly beach at Blackpool Sands, with its turquoise waters, wooded cliffs and acres of sand and shingle, as well as the popular Venus Café

Further along the coast road, you'll reach the historic naval town of Dartmouth, with its pretty harbour, castle, and numerous shops, galleries, bars and restaurants.

Following the coast road in the other direction, you'll reach the village of Torcross with its pebble beach on one side and the stunning Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve on the other - a natural freshwater lake separated from the sea by a narrow shingle bar, home to an abundance of birds and wildlife. Torcross has a village shop and Post Office, the fantastic Sea Breeze Café and The Start Bay Inn where you can get some of the best fish and chips you will ever taste!

The picturesque market town of Kingsbridge and the vibrant, somewhat bohemian town of Totnes are both within 30 minutes' drive and offer a great selection of independent shops, delis, cafés, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets.

A holiday cottage in Stoke Fleming offers a scenic spot from which to explore the beautiful South Hams coast and countryside.

Now called "Kendricks". Fish and chips very good. Burger average, neither very bad, nor very good. Very efficient, attentive staff.

September 2023

Excellent food, great place

August 2023

The service was generally good, but as we took our dog we were seated in the bar area. Whilst it was great that we could take our dog, there was no atmosphere. The main restaurant had a lovely view etc with more people. The food was just ok. My husband had ribs and they were quite dry. I had a chicken burger which was very small for the price. The children’s meals were good value however.

May 2023

We visited Radius 7 twice when we stayed at Seaview Nest. Had fish and chips then the half rack of ribs, both delicious meals. Loved the atmosphere, relaxed with back ground music. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The owner took time to speak to us making sure we were happy with our meal.

September 2022

Our family had a really lovely meal here. The service was good and the food was excellent. The fact that we had a job to get a table and had to eat in the bar next to a busy road, hence only four stars, showed how popular this place was. We would have liked to come back to eat in the Dining Room but there wasn't time. Highly recommended.

August 2022

My 10 year old daughter said they were the best fish and chips she's ever tasted!

June 2022

Belly pork starter was delicious.

June 2021

We enjoyed a lovely meal at Radius 7. The service and food were both very good, the market fish special was excellent. Booking is essential. We booked about 10 days ahead for a Saturday evening and were only offered 5pm or 5.15pm. Although we were lucky to have a window table and we were able to see the coast in the distance, it cannot be described as having fantastic sea views.

June 2021

We popped in on the "off chance", the staff were great and found us a table - had the best fish and chips ever!

June 2021

Friendly staff, good atmosphere and popular. On the night we went we were disappointed not to have a local, fresh fish option on the menu/specials board.

October 2020

Friendly place. We had a lovely takeaway there on two occasions. Recommend it.....

October 2020

Delicious Sunday lunch and very accommodating staff. Omg - the crackling.....!!!!! ????

August 2020

Had an excellent meal here with friendly service. Food was locally sourced and imaginative menu.

October 2019

Good food though slightly haphazard waiting staff

August 2019

We had a wonderful take away from this restaurant. There was an amazing choice of food. The fish was so fresh and everything cooked to order.Great value for money too!

June 2019

One hour forty minutes for two courses, so very slow, but the food is excellent. Child friendly.

August 2018

Excellent hosts and food is amazing in choice and quality with a wide cocktail & drinks menu, highly recommend

July 2018

Very good food service a little slow but food made up for it

Nice local pub. Not much room indoors to have a drink, but plenty of space outside. Food OK, but not brilliant. Spent £19.50 on one of the specials from the board (Hake with potatoes), but very small portion of fish, small portion of potatoes and the complete dish was very dry - no sauce. My wife has the burger which was overcooked.

September 2023

Wonderful pub, great food and really lovely staff. One of our party was not feeling well and our server was so helpful, even getting us takeout boxes for the meal they were unable to eat.

September 2023

Excellent food, great place

August 2023

Great food, nice outdoor seating, they are reasonably priced and in easy walking distance of our holiday cottage. They also do takeaway food which was ideal.

May 2023

After reading the reviews we were looking forward to our meal. Sadly it did not live up to expectations. Only one of our starters arrived, despite us saying twice we wanted two. This delayed the main courses, my partners was dry, a pizza and mine extremely dry, burnt round the edges, chips with pizza topping. My dish was was knocked off the bill which we did appreciate. The starter, filo prawns, was good. But as we watched the staff, off which there plenty it just looked disorganised, so much toing and froing with empty hands, all pleasant enough, but not very effective. At one stage the chef came out serving meals. We had called in for a drink the day before, very nice beer garden to the rear of the pub

May 2023

Didn’t eat at this pub, but a lovely friendly pub, visited here a couple of times, everyone so friendly and made you feel very welcome

September 2022

Excellent lunch here one day, food and beer very good, staff excellent

May 2022

Awesome pub, really friendly and a great garden. Love it, wish it was my local.

May 2021

Convivial local pub but menu at present rather covid-constrained.

October 2020

Recommend the steak and blue cheese pizza. Friendly staff

October 2020

Excellent Sunday lunch, vegetarian option with all the trimmings. Great service, clean and COVID safe, tables well spaced. Would return - also do take away service but sadly no desserts at the moment.

October 2020

Lovely pub to eat and drink, always made to feel very welcome, food is excellent

October 2020

Fantastic pub - lovely food, and friendly staff and locals. Would’ve gone back more if they were open every day

August 2020

Friendly local pub with real ale. Pizzas were excellent.

October 2019

We had a wonderful evening meal at this pub. The bar was busy with locals so a friendly atmosphere and there was plenty of space in the restaurant area. Apart from the pub classics, there was a good choice on the Specials' board. We liked the range of local ales and ciders on offer as well as the gin of the month offer. Excellent food and good value for money.

June 2019

First visit since last landlords retired. New owners have changed the look of the interior, clean and welcoming, as are the staff! Food is good quality and priced to please. Bubble and Squeak a lovely surprise at one lunchtime!

October 2018

Nice pub, good food, would recommend

Ideally located castle cafe after a walk from town. Small snacks and drinks available. It is sad that there are no china pots of tea any more which used to be served to the outside tables. Just cardboard take away cups left on the serving area for you to retrieve and add your own milk etc. The cafe lost its charm but still satisfies a thirst after a walk!

April 2024

Lovely little cafe and perfect place to enjoy a hot chocolate after an early morning swim. Lovely staff

May 2022

Lovely cappuccino sitting outside in the sunshine, great location.

March 2022

A cute cafe with lots of outdoor seating in a lovely setting, and some undercover seating just to hand when it rains. Plus toilets too, useful if you've walked the very pleasant mile and a half along from Dartmouth. Easy steps down into a little sheltered cove by the Castle, which has a lovely out of the way feel to it, or steps up to the Coast Path, or NT protected Gallants Bower (beautiful flowers in May!). Cafe does great coffee and snacks and is open every day. Visited 3 times in rain and shine...always good.

May 2021

Had lovely tea cake and hot chocolate. COVID restrictions in place and well organised, slick service

May 2021

It’s a lovely walk from the center of Dartmouth out to the Castle. Topped of with a great coffee and a slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake. Thoroughly recommended.

October 2021

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The food was delicious and the service was very professional.

August 2021

Really liked this place, as it opens at 8.00am (unusual for Dartmouth) and provides an excellent coffee and croissant, or coffee and cake, (alongside their full breakfast menu, not sampled). Very relaxing for a slow start of a morning, reading the papers.

May 2021

Excellent, well worth the wait for here! Book in advance to get in! Food top notch and great service! Go!!!!

This is our regular haunt when we holiday in Dartmouth. Warm welcome, lovely coffee, scones and snacks. Have also met some interesting customers.

Dartmouth Castle
(2 miles)

(4)

Dartmouth Castle has guarded the narrow entrance to the Dartmouth Harbour for over 600 years and today is an interesting and enjoyable attraction for all ages.  Thanks to English Heritage’s restoration and careful upkeep, visitors can enjoy the wonderful position with breathtaking views across the estuary whilst learning the fascinating history of this fortress built to protect the harbour from invaders. There’s plenty to do inside the castle with grisly tales and interactive displays, and if the weather is fine you can take a river boat trip from the town quay up to the castle which makes a nice day out.  After you have explored the castle you can visit the Castle tearooms for light lunches, cream teas or a glass of wine in the sunshine.

June 2022

Great little castle. Enjoy the tour around.

April 2022

We took the ferry Dartmouth to Dartmouth Castle with our 7 and 9 year old children and had the most stunning views of Dartmouth. The castle was very interesting and the children enjoyed it too. Again, stunning views over Dartmouth from the castle. A really fun and educational day out. The castle is expensive but we felt it was worth it.

Well worth a visit. We walked there and took the ferry back. Best of both worlds!

Blackpool Sands
Blackpool Sands
(Less than a mile)

(35)

Between Dartmouth and Slapton, Blackpool Sands is a beautiful shingle bay on the South West Coast Path, surrounded by evergreens and pine trees. It really is a treasure of a beach to visit while you’re in the area. Award-winning, the privately owned, blue flag beach boasts a sense of being in the Mediterranean on a good day in the summer, although a good jumper never goes amiss in this part of the world! You will no doubt not be surprised to hear that it is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, however it also boasts ample facilities and things to do. There are showers, toilets and disabled facilities, as well as paddle board, kayak and wetsuit hire available for those wishing to earn their visit to The Venus Beach Café, where light bites and refreshments are served. The Venus Shop also sells all the bits and pieces you might want for fun and games on the beach if you have forgotten them or are in need of extra buckets and spades. The water at Blackpool Sands is known for being clean and clear and tested by the Environment Agency, and lifeguards are on hand in the summer (July to September) so there’s every reason to pop in for a dip. However, dogs are not allowed on the beach in the high season (12th March to 30th October) so keep the walking for the cooler months. There is parking available at the beach with seasonal charges, and you can find out more information on those from the Blackpool Sands information line on 01803 771800. This beach is easy to get to and quite literally fun and games for the whole family, as well as a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year to take in the view!

June 2023

Visited Blackpool sands on our honeymoon 27 years ago and have enjoyed it on both occasions. A lovely clean beach with a very nice restaurant/cafe. We walked to the beach and got the local bus back up to Stoke Fleming.

May 2023

we love this beach always clean good parking clean facilities and good cafe.

September 2022

We did go to this beach, couldn’t go in the sea as it was so rough, was beautiful though. No sand, but still very nice.

September 2022

Beautiful beach; very blue water. It’s more a pebbly rather than a sandy beach, love it all the same. It’s clean and there are lifeguards in the summer months which is when we visited. The toilets were clean and not far from the beach; no queues for the toilet either. Parking can be a bit pricey at £9 for the whole day of you come in the morning but didn’t mind it. You pay less though if you come in the afternoon. The is a little sandpit area for a any kids who want to play in sand

September 2022

It is a really beautiful beach although, despite its name, it is not a sandy beach, however our son and grandson were keen on paddle boarding. They made a special visit for this and were told that the paddleboard facilities were closed but to come the following day when the facilities were still closed! Considering that this was during the height of the holiday season, my son was a bit put out having made two wasted trips.

November 2020

Dogs allowed on beach out of season, a bracing walk with coffee and millionaire shortbread at the cafe to finish.

October 2020

Great beach really beautiful , even in the rain, as the Venus café is right on the beach and is warm, dry and serves great food and drinks at reasonable prices.

October 2019

One of our favourite beaches, in a beautiful setting. Plenty of car parking and plenty of room on the beach, even on a busy day. The sea is clean and clear and the facilities are excellent (nice to have changing rooms). Thoroughly recommend this beach.

October 2019

Beautiful stretch of shingle beach nestled between steep hills at either end. Excellent facilities including one of the best beach cafes we've ever visited.

September 2019

We had a wonderful day at Blackpool sands. A shingle beach within a lovely cove, it was clean and felt safe for the children to swim in the water (which was also sparkling). The beach is privately run, so the carpark fee was a bit stiff (£8 for the day), however the upside of this was a beautifully clean beach with lots of amenities, including rental of SUPs and other water equipment, a great cafe, and really clean loos. On a busy day you would need to arrive before lunchtime, or the carpark will shut, but this also means that the beach didn't feel crowded at all.

September 2019

Parking charge between £3 - £8 depending on time of year, Also food good but e.g. Hawaiian Prawns (£9) consisted of 5 prawns. Not good value for money.

October 2018

Lovely beach, not sandy but the stones are okay. Good food, beverages, coast guards, Nice view and not so cowded

August 2018

Lovely clean beach in super location along coastal road. Great place to visit.

August 2017

Beautiful location but shame it a shingle beach and not sandy. Also very disappointed with the £8 fee to park the car .

August 2017

Slapton Sands
Slapton Sands
(5 miles)

(29)

A long stretch of beach with spectacular views of the sea stretching into the distance, Slapton Sands is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and for good reason. Adjacent to Slapton Ley, a freshwater lake that’s home to an abundance of wildlife and one of the many reasons people come to visit the area, the beach has a history of welcoming families in the summer for long days in the sunshine, building sandcastles, surfing, windsurfing and kayaking. It’s amazing to believe that this peaceful corner of South Devon has its place in military history as in 1943 the beach was taken over by allied forces to use as a rehearsal area for the D-Day landings. However, live ammunition and poor visibility ended in the deaths of more than 700 servicemen, so today there is a stone monument in place for Operation Tiger, as it was called, as well as a Sherman Tank at nearby Torcross. On a more current note, there is a beachside café at Slapton Sands for teas, coffees and other light bites, and there are also toilets nearby. The beach has disabled access, and also allows dogs throughout the year, so it really is fun for everyone and very easy to get to. There is parking nearby and in the summer months from May to September there is lifeguard cover. Last, but not least, a small collection of pubs reside in Torcross for those who are feeling peckish after a long day in the fresh air, or if you have been for a nice walk along the sand!

Our dog loved this beach and the kiosk cafe was a great addition, especially as it was very cold and windy. Shame about the parking costs.

April 2024

Fab stretch of beach - quite a trek from one end to another, you’ll need a drink from the coffee van at Pilchard Cove or cafes in Torcross! Over the hill from Torcross to bee sands has an amazing view

August 2023

A stunning coastline well worth a visit. If you drive along the coast road from Dartmouth the views are incredible. Slapton Sands is a shingle beach and dog friendly. If the first car park is busy continue further on and the next one is usually quieter, payment required.

July 2023

Visited here out of respect for those who practiced the D-Day landings on this beach. If venturing doen to the sea from the car park please note it was hard getting back up as you sink into the stones, so not so good for those with any mobility issues.

July 2023

Beautiful pebbly beach, water was so clear!

June 2023

Lovely beach with clear blue sea, very small shingle so no good if u have children who want to build a sand castle, also water gets deep very quickly

June 2023

Beautiful quiet unspoilt beach

April 2023

Really interesting history. Great for the children to link back to a Michael Morpurgo story too.

April 2022

loved it

November 2021

Long pebbly beach. Parking right on the front.

September 2021

We visited on a very overcast day with a keen wind blowing, so we did not see the sands at their best. We walked into Slapton and had tea in the church and found a pleasant footpath back to the beach car park, which ran past the nature reserve at Slapton Ley.

September 2021

A beautiful, gentle walk along the side of the nature reserve, if you make it to the turn off to go into Slapton, there is a lovely pub up there, the Queens Arms great gardens, food and friendly staff.

September 2021

Absolutely stunning stretch of beach (non-sandy which we prefer) with miles of space. Beautiful for early morning dog walks with a coffee at the end from the 'cafe on the beach' at Strete Gate picnic area.

May 2021

Walked along the beach and round the Nature reserve whilst staying in Slapton village. Lovely long shingle beach - our dog loved it. Lovely circular walk through the medieval village and back through the Nature reserve and along the beach.

November 2020

Ample parking, nice walk along the beach.

October 2020

Beautiful beach with a stunning sunrise. The sound of the sea on the pebbles is very relaxing. Really clean . No rubbish . Beautiful walks nearby. Nice cafe and restaurants. Dog friendly too.

September 2020

We have had lovely walks along Clapton and the views are stunning

February 2020

If you love the sound of the waves on pebbles this has to be one of the best beaches in the world !

April 2019

A totally unspoilt stretch of beach with wild flowers and wonderfully coloured rocks. We were lucky to be staying on a stones throw away and spent a few happy hours there with our dog watching the locals beach fishing in the evenings - bliss!

August 2018

Lovely walking -

June 2018

Lovely walk for wild flowers, bird watching sea views

May 2018

Clean beach.No plastic.

May 2018

This is certainly a lovely beach and so little rubbish.

April 2018

Really interesting area and good walks along the coast and by the Ley. Generous provision of toilets and parking and a number of places to eat. Would particularly recommend The Start Bay Inn, The Boathouse and Seabreeze Cafe at Torcross. Also very handy that there is a bus should you want to walk one way and get a bus back. Very beautiful and peaceful.

October 2017

Beautiful beach right across from our Cottage

September 2017

Wonderful nature reserve with well signposted walks.

September 2017

Beautiful stretch of shingle beach - dogs allowed all year. Not many facilities - we went to the Strete end of the beach as there is a great little coffee hut there - great coffee and friendly staff.

September 2017

Clapton Sands is beautiful. The rocks are the most beautiful colours, wild flowers abound on the beach, the views in either direction are stunning and it is rarely over crowded. One of the most wonderful areas in the U.K.

May 2017

Great place for a walk along the beach and had some great events for children at Easter. Great fish and chips in the pub at the end on Torcross

St Mary's Bay
(6 miles)

The decent to St Mary’s Bay is one of the best views in Brixham, with panoramic views of the English Riviera. This beautiful, unspoilt beach has a carpark nearby, but we recommend walking there to make the most of the stunning surroundings. The sandy and shingle beach is sheltered by steep cliffs on either side, which means the decent to the beach isn’t easy, especially for those with mobility disabilities. There are no facilities at the beach, but visitors can take the coast path north to Berry Head Nature Reserve, where there is a great café and toilets, as well as stunning coastal views. Dogs are welcome all year, making St Mary’s Bay a great place to take a well-earned rest on your dog walk.

Elberry Cove
(6 miles)

(1)

Far from the bustling crowds of Paignton and Brixham’s bigger beaches, this small pebbly cove is a truly relaxing spot. The calm waters are great for swimming and are said to have been one of Agatha Christie’s favourite bathing spots. Elberry Cove even features in one of her crime thriller novels, The ABC Murders. This picture-perfect cove, surrounded by sloping wooded hillsides and crystal clear water, can only be accessed by the coast path, with the nearest carpark at Broadsands Beach. From here, it is only a 10 - 15 minute walk, but make sure to pack a picnic or grab a bite to eat at Broadsands Beach before you set off, as there aren’t any facilities at here. Dogs are welcome on the beach throughout the year.

Lovely quieter beach, dog and BBQ friendly. We had teens that hired kayaks from nearby Broadsands beach and paddled around the coast to meet us. Very accomodating kayak hire and not too expensive.

Broadsands Beach
(6 miles)

In between Brixham and Paignton, this long, sandy beach is a popular spot with families, thanks to its sheltered waters, year-round facilities and easy parking. The Blue Flag beach is perfect for making sandcastles and searching for wildlife in the rockpools. There are toilets, and two places to get ice creams, coffees and soft drinks. What’s more, the car park is right by the beach, so there’s no need to lug your provisions a long way. Behind the pretty row of colourful beach huts, there’s a large grassy area, so don’t forget to pack a ball or rounders bat to keep the whole family entertained. Broadsands Beach is a popular dog walking spot throughout autumn and winter, but there is a seasonal dog ban during the summer months (1st May - 30th September).

January 2024

We greatly enjoyed our stay with 3 generations of the family and much appreciated the welcome pack of Christmas goodies that was left for us and a nicely decorated real Christma tree. We loved the log burner and managed to buy a huge £30 bag of logs from the local garden centre.....which we had fully used by the time we left. Just minor points that may be of note are..... The re-cycling system is very complex, demanding multiple separation of different materials and not enough green bins / white recycling bags.....especially over the xmas holidays when we had SO much rubbish - paper, cardboard, bottles, tins, plastic, food waste. We did our best, including a trip to the bottle bank but it was impossible to be 100% accurate and efficient. MUCH more complicated sorting than we have in Ealing, London! We found the food in the local Green Dragon pub rather underwhelming and some of the menu options had run out, despite pre-booking our table; we would have much preferred dinner at The Start Inn (in Torcross) where the choice was much better but unfortunately they don't take table bookings around Christmas time. We enjoyed a trip to Coleton Fishacre, home of the D'Orly Carte family. Many thanks to the owners of Fairyfield for the rental of their lovely home.

June 2023

We had the pleasure of spending an amazing week at this wonderful house. Paradise.

August 2022

Such a good holiday, didn’t want to leave. Put the safe walking route to Blackpool sands In the book if it isn’t there already

June 2022

Lovely house, stunning views, yes Shady Lane is very narrow and seemed extremely long on our arrival but by the end of the holiday we barely noticed it. It was worth it for the amazing views and beautiful house. Everyone in our group from age 2 to 80 loved it. Would definitely return.

We are so pleased you enjoyed Fairyfield and do hope you return soon!

April 2022

Driveway was a bit tedius but well worth it for the stunning views & fantastic property.

October 2021

Radius 7 great for a special meal

August 2021

We did enjoy very much our second stay. Only problem was the boiler was not working. We were in touch with The owner. I had one cold shower. We switched to using the immersion heater whilst we were there. The main remote controller failed, and was repaired just as we were leaving.

June 2021

The only reason the location was marked as ‘good’ was the challenging access road. The view and the actual location were excellent.

June 2021

Although one prefers sunshine all week the views from property during a storm were fantastic

October 2020

Absolutely loved it. What a view!

October 2020

Lovely stay again! The property was cleaned to a high standard. We felt that a welcome pack would have been a nice gesture after a long journey there. We had a lovely time. Please thank the owners on our behalf. Will definitely he coming back....

August 2020

As mentioned we just loved the Property and location, specially in these times, it is very well equipped which was much appreciated. Also felt privileged to be trusted with such wonderful art decor, it was lovely. We were lucky with the weather. We come to Dartmouth every year for the past 5 years, and hope to come again. Thank you.

August 2020

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and were sad to leave such a magical place. (We felt extremely sorry for the "deep cleaners", who were cheerful despite everything!)

October 2019

We had an amazing time thank you!

October 2019

fabulous property and very well equipped.Views amazing. Just be aware of the very narrow lane/track access-

September 2019

We would all certainly revisit - despite the lengthy track to access Fairyfield.

September 2019

It was fantastic. Beautiful situation. Perfect for our celebration.

September 2019

5th year and just as enjoyable as the first!

August 2019

Fantastic- access a bit daunting though

August 2019

August 2019

Loved the house. It met all our requirements and was very clean and furnished to a high standard

June 2019

We had a wonderful time despite the variable weather. On drizzly days, we just enjoyed the house, plenty of space for 8 adults. The kitchen was very well equipped which made food preparation easy. The views from the house and garden were stunning. The situation was perfect for visiting the South Hams area.

May 2019

We had the most perfect holiday spotlessly clean bungalow beautifully furnished with amazing view of the sea from the back garden. We felt we were in paradise & would recommend Toad Hall Cottages & Fairyfield 100%...Thank you for a wonderful holiday

January 2019

Lovely views and really well equipped kitchen and house.

January 2019

We had a lovely Christmas staying at Fairfield and walked many miles during the week and enjoyed good weather. We would recommend the local pub to anyone which is good walk from the house and very welcoming. Our only grumble would be that the cleaners turned up and sat on the drive at 9.15 am on the day that we were leaving. We know that there were people coming into the house that afternoon but this rushed us into leaving and a coat was left behind by my parents.

October 2018

Having stayed at this property previously it overall still remains positive. If I were being critical, and weather didn’t help, overall possibly looking a bit “tired”

July 2018

We had a wonderful two weeks.

June 2018

Wonderful property in a fantastic location everything you need for a relaxing break

June 2018

We all had a wonderful holiday in a superb property. We could not find fault with anything.

May 2018

Perfect accommodation, all on the level, and plenty of space for a 3 generation holiday. The location and outdoor space is magical.

May 2018

Yes- great.family get together!

April 2018

Location was amazing.... could happily live there for the rest of my life :-)

November 2017

Yes we enjoyed a great family get together there.

September 2017

Overall we loved our stay in Fairyfield, it was one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. It has lovely paintings and interesting artwork. All the furniture was very comfortable with an exceptionally comfortable bed in the master bedroom. It was very peaceful with lovely views and was a treat to come back to after trips out. We would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

September 2017

4th year - great property. The cleaners do a great job - always spotless

August 2017

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The accommodation was perfect for all the family with separate bedrooms and bathrooms. It is a lovely garden with wonderful views out to sea. My comments above did not detract from our enjoyment of the cottage or of the location and surrounding area. I would recommend the cottage but with advisory comments about Shady Lane.

June 2017

We had a great stay. We especially enjoyed having all our meals outside overlooking the fantastic view. The house is spacious and well equipped and was perfect for our family.

July 2016

This is the second time we have visited this superb property. As before the property didn't disappoint. It lies in a fantastic location offering those all important views across the bay. Stoke Fleming is a lovely village and Dartmouth offers some quality restaurants.

January 2014

A really good experience in a great house at the right price.

September 2013
