Excellent cottage and location. We will re-book. Thank you
Flight of 13 steps to garden not made clear in brochure and combined with no handrail not really suitable for our age group 80+! If listing more specific we would not have considered the property although it seemed to be ideal because of the garden for our dog.
So many attractive features to this property; the garden, the location, the character. All these make a relaxing enjoyable holiday
We have stayed at Garden Cottage three times now and have already booked for next year. It is perfect for a couple or young family and is dog freindly. The location is very good, it's in a quiet position but central to the beach and village. Lovely large sunny garden which is well maintained. Cosy and comfortable. Would recommend.
Our second time at garden cottage. It is a wonderful property with a fantastic garden. We will definitely be coming back
Had a great stay at the cottage which was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. We appreciate being able to bring the dogs along and endeavour to leave everything as we found it. Just to note that there was another dog in the garden one day and we noticed the odd foreign do do! This was fine with us and we just picked it up but we wouldn't want the owners to think we hadn't cleaned up after our dogs. Also in the book it said to empty our ashes in the ash bucket but we couldn't find it so apologies to the cleaner. This is a lovely cottage with a few quirks in a great location. Very peaceful but a short stroll to the beach, pub and shop. We would definitely stay again as long as the cottage remains affordable. Many thanks.
We had a wonderful week at garden cottage. It is perfectly equiped for a family holiday by the sea, buckets, spades, fishing net, crab lines boogie boards and the kayak are all there for your use and there is a well stocked games cupboard in the house too.The garden is AMAZING, the photos online dont do it justice! We were all very sad to leave. There is only one tiny thing that niggled us and that was the fridge/freezer. Its not nearly big enough for a house sleeping 7 people.
It is great to see that you had such a great stay in Hope Cove. The feedback is much appreciated and I am pleased to say that the owner has now put information in the property saying guests are welcome to use part of the overflow fridge in the shed should they require additional space.

Very pleased with the property, beautiful location, wonderful garden ,we stayed a month and it felt like home, will return.
The weather certainly helped but we had one of our best holidays ever. Would recommend the cottage to friends.
The cottage was great and perfectly postioned
lovely location and garden, overall nice cottage although a decent size fridge freezer would of been useful for a cottage for 7 people expecially as there was one in the outhouse for owners use only!
We are pleased to see you enjoyed your stay at this popular cottage in Hope Cove. We will pass on your feedback regarding additional freezer space to the owner for their consideration.

Good directions to cottage. The kitchen was Very well equipped although we would have liked a medium sized saucepan. There were very large pans ans several small ones. Even so we managed to cook three curries for our curry night. It was good to be open plan down stairs so we could all be together while cooking. The wood burner was one of the best we had used and the supply of logs was very generous. The garden was lovely and would be great to use in better weather our disappointment with the cleanliness was that the floors were dirty and could have done with a good wash. Our feet and socks were filthy after the first day. We Loved our holiday, The Cafe was the best place to eat our, their fish pie was great, far superior to the pub. The weather was stormy, just what we wanted with huge seas. Thank you, we love your cottages, we are hoping to come for a much longer stay next winter.
We are pleased to see you had such a good holiday at the property and look forward to welcoming you back next winter. Many thanks for your feedback with regards to the floor. There was a transitional period between the owners cleaning team but this will be undergoing a pre-season deep clean.

Have been on holiday with Toadhall on many occasions and have had a great time every time . Wonderful locations and quality accommodation , looking forward to our next great experience.
Garden cottage was lovely and a perfect cosy cottage for two people. We had the most relaxing week and even got to enjoy 25 degrees in September. Eating out most nights, walking across the bay to the pub when the tide was out and going for long walks across the cliffs. Reminds me how beautiful this country is and gave us a complete break from a hectic lifestyle. Limited phone reception so work couldn't get hold of us if they wanted to!
Garden Cottage is an excellent property and I would love to stay there again. Not the largest of properties but certainly comfortable for 6 people. What really made this property stand out was the patio and garden. The garden just has to be seen to be believed.
The website is extremely informative and easy to use. The customer service was very helpful and friendly. I would like to have a reminder to pay outstanding balance rather than feeling anxious about remembering it myself! Otherwise all good. Lovely holiday in a lovely cottage and the sun shone!
We spent a week in heaven last year at Garden Cottage....the kids loved the cottage and we loved the vicinty to the beach, pub, walks and the garden which is just beautiful...my mother in law came to stay as well and it worked for all generations...it is peaceful but not remote, well kept but cosy...I would highly recommend it to anyone if you want to relax the moment you walk through the door.
I spent two wonderful weeks at Garden Cottage last September. As soon as I walked through the door I knew I'd be back time and time again. In fact I booked my next stay before I'd even left. I went there to write and found serenity, homeliness and comfort - oh and enough things to do to ensure I was regularly distracted. Hope Cove is beautiful with the most incredible walks and views. I did tour the area and found some lovely pubs, beach cafes and towns but I was just as happy sitting in the back garden with a book and a glass of wine. Expect four seasons in one day and the stunning rainbows that they bring with them.
Having stayed at Garden Cottage many times in recent years (in all weathers in all seasons!) I can't recommend it highly enough - either for a romantic getaway for two or for a family holiday. The gorgeous beaches and stunning cliff walks are a short stroll away (so you can take a mug of tea to the beach and it'll still be hot when you get there!) and we all love crossing the beach to the pub or the shop in the village when the tide is out. The cottage is divine - comfortable and stylish and really well equipped, with everything you could possible need for a Devon holiday; and the informal, colourful garden is just fabulous.
We loved our time at Garden Cottage and Hope Cove. The cottage and garden feel very private and quiet yet are minutes away from the beach, coastal paths, the shop and the pub. It's light and airy yet also cosy.
