There’s a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere pervading the twin villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo, which accounts in no small part to this area being such a popular holiday destination. The beautiful Yealm estuary dividing the villages is alive with the busy movements of sailing dinghies and yachts attracted to this sheltered inlet. As you stroll through the winding streets lined with pretty cottages, there’s not a caravan or camping site to be seen and several excellent inns and restaurants provide a range of enticing menus. Glen Cottage is ideally situated for the visitor, with a front garden and patio that extends right down to the foreshore so that on a sunny day it’s a fantastic place to relax, enjoying a drink or alfresco dining whilst watching the colourful spectacle of boats on the water. The south-facing cottage, dating back to the 18th century provides comfortable accommodation and has deep-set windows with window seats in all rooms, giving great views of the creek. At the rear of the cottage a large garden provides a secluded haven in which to relax, with views to Noss Mayo.
Several sandy beaches are easily accessible, as is the South West Coastal Path that threads its way along this scenic coastline. Dartmoor National Park, the historic city and naval port of Plymouth and Celtic Cornwall are all within easy reach, but we think we should warn you that dragging yourself away from this lovely spot for long will not be easy.
Please note: Small children and toddlers should be supervised at all times.

We have been twice a year for years, it feels like home not a holiday property, have had contact with the owner previously is a helpful man, caretaker is fantastic now a friend, location is superb could not get a better view from your front garden. Although cold weather it was warm and cosy, feel its warm enough to be rented out in winter too, love it 11/10

Other than the unloading problem it was "excellent " for all categories. Thank you and we would recommend it without reservation.
A delightful cottage in a lovely setting - couldn't fault anything at all and the waterside garden was an absolute bonus.
Fantastic stay, fantastic cottage, really helpful caretakers, been going for years location is incredible, idyllic place, friendly neighbours highly recommended ????
We adore our visits to Newton Ferrers, and have spent hours searching for a holiday rental in the same prime location, but nothing comes near, so we rebook most years
The cottage and garden, front and back, were beautiful. Hob and surrounding utensils were greasy and I didn't use the oven. Otherwise we had a lovely stay in a very comfortable cottage. Thank you.
Love the property and area is like going home going to Glen, caretaker always emails me Debbie White is fantastic could not have a better caretaker so helpful. The cottage is comfortable warm and homely really impressed been going there 8 years now. .
The reason we love Glen Cottage so much is that it is not brand spanking new with flashy fixtures - its just a really good family holiday cottage, excellent location, and on the water. Its also priced realistically given the 'tired' bathrooms and décor - but we would hate it if it were suddenly all done up and swanky!! The kitchen is really well stocked with all the crockery and plates and cooking things you need, the beds are really comfy and a decent size, and we can have all our water toys there such as paddle boards and kayaks. Its a shame that next door are not allowing mooring - just access - but understandable.
Always have a fantastic week at Glen it's home from home, been coming twice a year for ages, caretaker is amazing owner really helpful too... Location is second to none, the local people are wonderful!
We had a great week at the cottage. Very clean and tidy. Excellent place for a relaxing break. We look forward to visiting again.
The property is wonderful and our 7th year there through 2 holiday companies means it feels like home. The caretaker is wonderful so helpful and I regard her as a friend. The waterside garden has become our favourite place to be.....My son has ME/CFS so it has been the perfect place to relax even if not well enough to walk anywhere. We evenknow the neighbours and they are friendly too.....
We have been to Glen many times it feels like our second home. The caretaker is wonderful and so helpful. The waterside position is amazing...The cottage is really homely. the only thing that didn't work was the tin opener which I left a note for the caretaker about. Last year we had an issue as the gardener turned up with no warning very early when I was getting up in view of the bathroom. This year he turned up at a better time and went in the front and back garden, we would have appreciated a note to say he was calling as if my son had been alone it might have alarmed him as he has anxiety due to suffering from ME/CFS.
Our 4th stay in Glen Cottage, love it every time
Glen cottage is home from home. dream location, many walks from the door step, a slice of peace and tranquillity - perfect!
A brilliant return to Newton Ferrers after a 40 year absence. The cottage was spotless, and the position perfection. We will be returning, but sooner than another 40 years.
Such a perfect location
The WiFi was very useful to complete our concert bookings. The cottage is beautifully presented and in excellent order. To have car parking is a real bonus in this village of narrow streets.
The fact that we had no need to contact the caretaker perhaps is a better reflection of the standard of cottage and preparation. Everything was in good working order and the only comment we have is that the owners should invest in a new television with wide screen. Having said that the purpose of renting the cottage was for rest and exercise in the area and in that context it was perfect and the location idyllic. All being well we will return "same time next year" with walking boots and books.
