Description

Leigh Hill is a very light and spacious modern home located at the top of Salcombe. With ample outside space to make the most of he stunning far reaching sea views, a large conservatory and a very homely lounge this property is ideal for any family holiday in this very popular seaside town.

The property is also located less than 1 mile from the sandy beaches of North Sands and South Sands and just a leisurely walk along the coastal road into the town centre.

Front entrance to hall leading to kitchen with electric cooker, gas hob, large fridge, large freezer, dishwasher, dining table to seat 6 (additonal chairs available), and access to small utility area with Belfast sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. Light and bright conservatory with two sofas and access to patio and garden. Lounge with two sofas and two armchairs, TV, DVD player, feature fireplace (not in use) and access to patio. WC. First floor: Bedroom 3 with kingsize bed and built in wardrobe. Bedroom 4 with kingsize bed and built in wardrobe. Bedroom 5 with bunk beds. Family bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, basin and WC. Second floor: Bedroom 1 with double bed, built in wardrobe and balcony with sea views. Bedroom 2 with kingsize bed, sofa and juliet balcony. Family shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC. 

Large patio area at the front with table and chairs, stunning sea views and all day sun. Steps down to lawn. Further steps down to small grass area with trees.

Private parking for 2 to 3 cars at property depending on size.

  • Included: Bed linen and towels, electricity, gas central heating, travel cot, high chair.
  • Telephone: Incoming and emergency calls only. Mobile reception variable. Wi-Fi.
  • Pets: One well behaved dog allowed. (Pet charge £25.00 per week. £30.00 from January 2019).
  • Local facilities: Spar shop 600 yards. North Sands beach less than 1 mile. Pubs, restaurants and other shops 15 minutes walk down the hill into Salcombe (longer coming back). Football pitch/park 50 yards. Childrens play area 150 yards. Kingsbridge with all facilities 6 miles.

The house was in a wonderful location with gorgeous views, although because of its advantage point the walks back from the beach or Salcombe would be very strenuous for people with less mobility. Leigh Hill is a fabulous house for a family holiday with plenty of room. A real home from home, you could stay and enjoy your surroundings if that's what you wished to do, but a great base to come back to. We were lucky with the weather and had some beautiful days out. North Sands was loved by the dog and The Winking Prawn was enjoyed by us. Great service and great food. Thurlestone beach is highly recommended, part of the National Trust with a cafe and parking and dog friendly all year. A short ferry trip from the Ferry Inn at Salcombe across the estuary to East Portlemouth has stunning beaches and the coastal walk to Gara Rock was outstanding, with views over to Bolt head and North and South beaches. Salcombe itself, is very picturesque (St Ives of Devon). Good Artisan shops as well as the the usual, but parking can be a nightmare. Lovely pub food at the Victoria Inn and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The fortescue Inn was visited too but not for food, a few well earned drinks. A fabulous fish restaurant was to be found at Boatswaines. The food was excellent, a lovely atmosphere and the hospitality was great. The Plaice fish and chip shop was also visited and we were not disappointed. The Cod was delicious. This holiday was one of the best as it had everything you would want and more. Thank you

There were 10 of us staying at Leigh Hill and we all agreed that this is the best property we have stayed in ! The view was magnificent,and we spent a lot of time in the kitchen, cooking there every evening,in the dining area and the conservatory. It's a lovely warm house with plenty of space inside and out. We had a holiday we won't forget, thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay. The views were breathtaking. Easy access to Salcombe. Short pretty drive in to town. The house is spacious and comfortable with plenty of kitchen ware, glasses, etc for a number of guests. The bedrooms were all of a similar size with beautiful views, comfortable beds and lovely fresh linen.
