Little Kershay is a stunning new conversion, perfect for couples, and ideally located to explore the Jurassic Coastline and bustling market towns of Bridport and Lyme Regis. It is modern, light and airy, with an attractive patio area and all its rooms are on the ground floor. Nestled away in nearby Salway Ash, a quaint hamlet on the outskirts of Bridport, but close enough to enjoy the charming harbour of West Bay (recently made famous by the TV series Broadchurch) and the Heritage Coast. For friends and larger families there is also the opportunity to book Little Whittle in the same location. Please see LWHITT
Nearby Bridport town is a vibrant and attractive Georgian location, now becoming better known for its lively arts scene and excellent local food. Every Wednesday and Saturday Bridport holds a famous street Market with stalls selling curiosities, amazing artisan food and bric-a-brac. This small market town is able to boast independent, award winning, butchers, bakers, greengrocers and a brewery! There is also a museum, a restored Art Deco cinema (which doubles up as a concert venue and theatre), and Arts Centre.
Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis is well known for its literary association with Jane Austen as well as its diverse geology which people from across the world flock to in the hunt for fossils. The historic old town retains an olde worlde charm with small streets filled with galleries, boutique shops and famed gastro restaurants and cafés. Its sheltered south facing beaches are safe for children and water sports enthusiasts alike with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour. For those who would like a change of scene and a day away from the beach, the surrounding rolling countryside, which is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts walking and cycling in abundance or perhaps while away a few days exploring pretty East Devon fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe or head to the market town of Axminster to sample Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen.

Loved this comfortable rural cottage, interesting views of the farm and local hills, good hospitality and welcomed by beautiful display of vibrant sunflowers.
Sue and Frank were very helpful with the odd problem we had, and had left a welcome pack which was thoughtful. Very secluded and quiet, but a bit of the beaten track for us. (Not that we like the bright lights). Very comfortable bed and plenty of hot water/heating--which we needed. The kitchen is very small, so one has to be organised! When opening the door to the large oven, there is nowhere to go to escape the blast of heat. Lovely private garden. As an aside, the bathroom door has partially frosted glass, so one can see through. Not a problem for us, but some people might find it so.
Yes, we did enjoy our stay, but some of the furnishings were disappointing - no wardrobe and the sofa wasn't comfortable.
Comfortable but a little bit out of the way
We had a wonderful stay in this little cottage, we were lucky with the weather. It was quiet even though it was next to a working farm, although the access road was a bit bumpy due to the potholes. We would certainly come again in future and would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet spot yet near enough to the coast. The sign on the road was not easily visible from the Broadwindsor direction, we had two goes at finding it! But the property itself was lovely.
Loved the location and even though a little rural, not far if you want to be back in the rat race again! Great views, with sound & smells of a rural location ... Loved It!
We loved the cottage and location. Very pleasant stay.
It was a lovely mid winter break. Very welcoming and peaceful.
The owners couldn't have made us more welcome we had a really nice welcome pack of bread butter cheese wine and milk in the fridge. The Cottage was warm and cosy and in a wonderful setting.
Had a really nice stay. Quiet location. Good quality furnishings and really comfortable bed. Lovely little place. Only drawback is the very small kitchen.
Just to say thank you to Sue for providing such a lovely retreat. It was perfect.
We had a great holiday. The cottage was lovely as expected. Would definately go again.
Loved the cottage and the location. So quiet and peaceful and the garden was great for the dogs. The owners had left wine, butter, milk and THE most amazing bread we have ever eaten! It was delicious and such a lovely touch (the owner baked it themselves) . Will definitely return. Everything was perfect! Five star *****
Yes - weather was superb and we visited several Natural Trust properties.

Hi, Little Kershay is perfect in every way and couldn't be improved. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was our second time.
We did enjoy our stay felt totally chilled out! Thank you!
We loved this property it was snug and warm beautifully equipped with lots of extra bits (I.e.kitchen roll and extra tea towels) it was a perfect location to watch the snow fall on one day then enjoy the sunshine in the garden on another. One of our favourite holiday cottages to date also perfect for our small dog.
Myself and my husband had a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable 11 night holiday in August 2017 at Little Kershay. The cottage is perfect for a tranquil getaway in the beautiful West Dorset countryside and Sue and Frank made us feel immensely welcome and were kind and helpful.
Owners delightful, setting utterly beautiful, location excellent for exploring all over. Truly loved this little place. The icing on the cake was that the directions provided were so good, we even managed to find it in the pitch black when we arrived at 10pm!
Cosy little cottage in a peaceful, rural location. Has a private garden overlooking the countryside. We were lucky enough to see two deers grazing early one morning. Great if you want to get away from it all.
Loved our stay here, and we are looking forward to coming back. Sue and Frank made us so welcome, thankyou to you both. Fell in love with the cottage and also the grounds.
