We had a lovely week and thought the cottage was the best one we have ever stayed in for accommodation, gardens and situation. We hope to return soon.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Splendid accommodation and location - will highly recommend and hope to return. Thank you. Anne and Brian Morgan and family
It was idyllic.
A wonderful experience in a beautiful location. The little personal touches make all the difference. We will be back in a hurry!
Lower Goosewell Cottage was just perfect for us. Beautiful inside and out, with no expense spared by the owners - they have thought of everything. Superb location overlooking the golf course, and yes really just minutes from the sea. Our dog loved the lovely large garden, and it is escape proof !! We were also very lucky to have sunshine every day and the long walks did mean a pint of Rattler went down well. A fantastic week, thank you so much.
The cottage was well discribed and met our needs. We had a lovely week.
Wonderful holiday home. We all loved it and were very sad to leave. Perfect location and house. Attention to detail is excellent, even down to the fantastic boot warmer!
Lower Goosewell Cottage was the best holiday home we have stayed in over the past 25 years. The views from the house were stunning, the garden fantastic - perfect for the dogs to run around -and the house itself was attractive, spacious and spotless, with every need catered for. We didn't want to leave!
This property was fantastic! Such beautiful views and so near to the beach and coastal path. Hopefully will be able to return one day! It just lacked garden furniture for sitting on the lovely lawn.
Just fabulous. Luxuriously appointed lovely home. Stunning location with views across the golf course out to sea and Yarmer beach was perfect for my old four legged friend. A wonderful welcome tray on arrival and a call from Mr Davis made us feel very welcome. . We have spent many years on holiday in the South Hams, in numerous properties, but this home exceeds expectations.......... only one thing for it ........... to book again!
This is a real gem of a cottage with uninterrupted views to the sea! Everything is of the highest standard and quality. I doubt that you will find a better place to stay in beautiful Thurlestone. Our second visit and certainly not the last.
This is the perfect cottage for a winter get-away. Warm and snug inside, even the wildest gales can be enjoyed in luxury and when the clouds clear and the sun comes out, its only a hop, skip and jump away from the coast path and local beach. Thank you. I look forward to coming back.
We have been visiting Thurlestone for over 40 years and Lower Goosewell is easiest the best rental property that we have stayed in. Perfectly situated with breathtaking views and with every home comfort imaginable . The owners take great care and pride in ensuring that your stay meets every expectation. We have already booked our next visit. John and Linda Bird
Fantastic Cottage and Location
A beautifully appointed cottage in the perfect location, it absolutely lived up to its five-star rating. My wife and I have been coming to the South Hams for more years than we care to remember and this was the best of the many fine properties in which we have stayed.
Not much to add to what has already been said - the house is in a fabulous location with a balance of old-world charm and all the mod-cons you could wish for (and more). Everything is spotless and it's superbly equipped: I never found myself thinking "I wish there was a ...". And just to clarify 'enclosed garden' in this case means 'dog proof' garden - always a bonus if the weather is inclement and you don't want to walk your dog around at the end of a lead.
What can I add to the above reviews? Everything that has been said cannot be overstated. Simply lovely. We will return.
We really enjoyed our stay at Lower Goosewell, high standard facilities, stunning coastal views over the golf course. Dog friendly with an enclosed garden. Well situated for Bantham Beach and Salcombe. Mrs Oldring
We stayed in this cottage over Easter 2015. It really is a beautiful place to stay with a fantastic view and a wonderful garden. Our daughter loved playing on the sweeping lawn and was thrilled to see rabbits at the bottom of the garden late in the day. The house is equiped to a high standard, the owners obviously love the property greatly and this is reflected in their efforts to make people comfortable. The beaches across the dunes were wonderful for rockpooling and the village inn was very welcoming. Highly recommended.
Our family had a wonderful week at Lower Goosewell Cottage. The location is superb with fabulous views to the sea. It is a beautiful and well equipped house very close to the village and well positioned to visit all the stunning places in this part of South Devon. The Welcome Pack was lovely and made our arrival special and look forward to returning again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the house and the view over the golf course is outstanding. The standard of fittings is of a high standard and we have booked again this October.
My husband and I, plus our young children, stayed at Lower Goosewell Cottage over the New Year, thoroughly enjoying the wild and blustery walks and beach adventures on our doorstep. It is a superb property, beautifully and luxuriously refurbished to an exceptionally high standard. Immaculately kept, with a wonderful homely feel and stunning coastal views, it is extremely well equipped and caters for all age ranges (from bucket and spades to stair lifts!). Situated down a private drive, the location is quiet and very safe for children. For those considering holidaying with grandparents, the layout of the property, with a downstairs bedroom and bathroom, provides an ideal place for them to escape to! The accommodating owners really have thought of everything and Lower Goosewell Cottage is a very very special place indeed.
I stayed at Lower Goosewell in my capacity as a freelance journalist/ editor and travel writer. It is indeed a beautiful house, set in an unrivalled coastal location in one of the most idyllic parts of Devon. Having reviewed many properties in the South West, I can say this is indeed one of the finest holiday homes for families, complete with all the mod cons and home-from-home charm you could wish for. With a beach on the doorstep, a pub, golf course, tennis courts, a post office and the South West Coast Path minutes from the house, there is little left to wish for when holidaying in Devon.
A wonderful cottage - full of character and warmth. Perfect for 1 - 6 people with plenty of space - whilst being cosy and comfortable. Gorgeous bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms downstairs loo! There's a beautifully equipped kitchen for even the most discerning cooks and stunning views beyond a lovely, spacious garden with room to play!
I stayed with my family for a week over the Spring Bank Holiday. The house is fantastic, is fully equipped, offers every creature comfort you could ever want and is beautifully presented. There's even a piano! A beautiful welcome tray was offered which made our arrival fell special. The views across the golf course and sea are stunning and the beach, tennis club and village are all a short walk. Simply lovely. I look forward to coming again
An absolutely stunning house. My wife, mother and I stayed for a week and had the most perfect time. The house is beautifully laid out and benefits from a wonderful location overlooking the sea. Wow.
