May’s Cottage, located on the seafront at Beesands is just a perfect example of a tastefully and sympathetically refurbished fisherman’s cottage. Soft décor and comfortable furnishings combine with modern conveniences to make this a relaxing and welcoming destination for couples and small families who value a special venue close to the sea. Stable doors allow the sounds of the ocean to permeate into the light and airy sitting room and double bedroom, and a woodburner will create a cosy hideaway on those autumn and winter evenings after a brisk coastal walk.
The cottage itself has everything required for an enjoyable stay, with a modern kitchen, two comfortable bedrooms with the master bedroom enjoying lovely sea views and an en suite shower room. There’s a great pub with restaurant just along the seafront, a good cafe serving locally caught seafood, breathtaking coastal walks and easy access to the market town of Kingsbridge and historic Dartmouth. We recommend this cottage very highly.
Stable door to porch. Sitting room with sofa and 2 armchairs surrounding a woodburner stove. Wall mounted 42 inch TV and DVD. Rear ground floor family bathroom with bath, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. Cottage stairs to landing. Master bedroom with 5ft double bed and sea views. En suite shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. Twin bedroom with 3ft bunk beds.

We have just spent a very enjoyable week in Mays Cottage. Very cosy, warm and comfortable. Everything provided that you need, re kitchen tools and crockery etc. Would highly recommend Brittania on the Beach, food really good, and staff very friendly. Also The Start fish restaurant at Torcross. Farm shop about 2 miles for provisions.
On the whole a lovely place , very attractively furnished in beautiful position
We very much enjoyed our stay in May's Cottage. For me it was the second time back this year. I was very pleased to see the new shower unit in the en-suite bathroom, and can confirm that the shower is now so much better.
We had a fantastic stay and would not hesitate to rebook this property with ToadHall Cottages
We had a lovely time and would recommend the situation and accommodation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had an absolutely fantastic week. The cottage was so welcoming and beautifully furnished. We couldn't fault the location, the view of the beach was just what we were hoping for. We took our two young boys on holiday and have made some wonderful family memories. Thank you to the owners of the cottage and Toad Hall Cottages. We would LOVE to stay again next year.
We had a lovely stay in May's cottage and were very lucky with the weather during the week. I look forward to returning in July. We did notice that the pipes underneath the kitchen sink were leaking somewhere as there was some water that had dripped into the pans in there.
So pleased you had a lovely stay in this delightful cottage. Thank you for your warning about the kitchen sink pipes. We'll have a look to see what's the problem. Fingers crossed the weather's as good when you return in July!

Our stay at Mays cottage was exclellent and cottage well fitted out We will be booking again in future. Thank owner for exclellent standard. Your service very good. K Flood
Had a fantastic week in Beesands. May's Cottage is perfect for small families - very tastefully renovated property with a high standard of furnishing. In a nutshell, it didn't feel like a rental property, a real home from home. Location is superb, though I imagine the local narrow country lanes are fun during the summer months. For locally sourced seafood I heartliy recommend the Britannia at the Beach - but do book in advance, so popular they are already taking bookings for the Summer months. We love this part of the World, and would definitely recommend May's cottage, Five stars
What a beautiful and tastefully decorated and equipped cottage. Our week was a slice of pure luxury.
Mays cottage was in a wonderful location and perfect holiday however I found the general maintenance on this property not as good as the previous seven properties that we have stayed with Toad Hall. The light above kettle was not working, although there was a note to say this. Main bedroom hot water tap did not work, neither did the towel rail or bedside lamp. We replaced main bedroom lamp but no other bulbs were available so when landing light bulb went we had to use light from second bedroom. I did leave a note in cottage to state the above
Thank you for your feedback, we will pass your comments to the caretaker to rectify the points raised with regards to the maintenance. We are very pleased you enjoyed your holiday overall though and hope you return soon. Many Thanks The Toad Hall Team.

Mays cottage was better than we had expected, Beesands is a beautiful place, very friendly and family orientated. Britannia on the beach serves fabulous food but book well in advance as it's very popular. Would highly recommend to friends.
