September 2018

Fantastic stay and an amazing location. We will definitely go back

September 2018

Cottage was clean, nicely presented and well equipped (although I didn’t expect to have to bring my own bin liners). Swimming pool was a nice bonus but charging for the pool table seemed a bit penny pinching. Never been asked to strip the bed at a cottage or b&b before either.

August 2018

Thank you for providing such a great property-we LOVED our time in Devon and plan to go back very soon for another break.

August 2018

Lovely location

July 2018

Yes we did enjoy it! The bush at the front gate was very over grown .

June 2018

Despite all the above, a great location and we would not hesitate in booking the cottage again. Just niggles!

March 2018

WE enjoyed our stay Toad Hall staff very helpful on the 'phone

December 2017

yes all good.

October 2017

The firework display on Burgh Island provided an unexpected spectacular free show!

September 2017

We enjoyed our stay and would gladly come back. The accommodation whilst small, was adequate for our needs. It is ideally placed for walks to Hope Cove or Thurlestone. Neighbours were nice. Happy with the service from Toad Hall.

July 2017

Our second holiday in this cosy cottage with stunning views. Another great time, lovely walks, easy access to beach and enjoyed daily swims in the pool.

June 2017

Really loved it - the location, comfort and cleanliness were all first class. Thank you for the milk and bottle of wine too - a nice touch.

May 2017

Lovely location, beautiful views and sunsets. Great walks, really appreciate being able to take a dog. Cottage very well equipped but compact, would maybe struggle with 4 people in it, but had everything required.

March 2017

The cottage is set in a beautiful location and the swimming pool was a wonderful addition to the property and used regularly during our week's stay. We were however disappointed that the sauna was out of order, and not fixed for the duration of our stay, and this was not something we were notified of in advance. Also the cleanliness of the property was a disappointing. The two cream sofas and their cushions were covered in stains and dog hairs (of course we understand the property accepts dogs which we think is great and would not want to deter the owner from allowing, however the cleaner could have ideally hoovered the sofa before we arrived). The chairs at the kitchen table were also covered in stains, there were several pieces of dirty cutlery in the draw, and we were given a dirty dishcloth to use, and no sponge. Four of the lights in the kitchen did not work. Also there was no patio furniture outside the property which was in the list of property itinerary. As we had expected 4 star accommodation we were understandably surprised and disappointed by the state of the property upon arrival; it would also have been beneficial to have been informed of the out of order sauna (something we had been looking forward to), and absence of patio furniture prior to the visit - as we could have brought our own chairs. Nevertheless due to the beautiful Devon countryside, surrounding walks, and on-site swimming pool we still had an enjoyable weeks holiday.

We're so glad to hear you had an enjoyable stay and thank you for your comments. The owner advises that the sauna is awaiting a part, and apologised that it's repair was delayed and thus wasn't working during your stay. The chairs have now been scheduled for a professional clean and the cleaner advised of the shortcomings mentioned in your feedback. Unfortunately weather had been horrendous so furniture wasn't put out. There is a switch for the 4 kitchen spots which is sometimes tricky to find, but lights all functioning. We are so please though that this did not detract from your enjoyment of your holiday and look forward to welcoming you again.

- The Toad Hall Team

March 2017

A wonderfully equipped and beautifully located cottage. We'll be there again soon as. Really appreciated the three night deal, meaning we didn't have to leave early on the Sunday morning. (I'm a vicar, the whole point of our weekend was to have a Sunday lie in!) Owner really great, too. Thanks philip

February 2017

The pool was warm, the first time and it made such a difference, thank you!

July 2016

Cosy, comfortable cottages with stunning views and great walks.

July 2014

A most enjoyable week, accommodation was excellent, view was superb, would certainly return, shame about building behind, and did not realize the path to Hope Cove was closed making it a very long walk or getting car out to get there.Very good value for money.

August 2013

Excellent Holiday, Thanks,

May 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sorry to leave. An excellent location- couldn't have been better for a coastal position- and the cottage was lovely. Everything we could have needed was available - the caretaker was very helpful when we couldn't work the entry system and from the outset, with our dealings with Toad Hall, our holiday was relaxing and enjoyable. When we drove up to the property the first time, our hearts sank - the property is not seen from its best advantage at the rear. However, once we got in to the cottage we realised why it had such a star rating and we would certainly recommend it to friends and family. We hope we can book again ourselves. Thank you for your part in making our holiday such a success. Please convey our thanks to the owners for taking such care with the cottage in its decor and little extras.
