Slipway House is a fine three storey house set back from the ferry slipway on the water's edge, with magnificent views of the River Dart and across to Dartmouth. At the end of a row of period houses, it is ideally placed for both Kingswear, the quieter and sunnier side of the water with a handful of pubs and restaurants; and Dartmouth, the jewel of the South Hams renowned for its lively harbour, Castle, Royal Naval College and remarkable selection of boutique shops, pubs and gourmet restaurants. The house is full of character with an appealing interior which is stylish, tastefully furnished with comfort and a touch of luxury and takes great advantage of the large windows in nearly all rooms that look across the river. Once the car is parked there is no need to drive again. Catch the foot or car ferry across to Dartmouth, or the Paignton and Dartmouth steam train to Goodrington Sands and the English Riviera, or boat trips to Totnes and Brixham. There are magnificent doorstep walks along the coastal path and sandy coves. Sugary Cove for example is within walking distance on the Dartmouth side with the famous Blackpool Sands 4 miles further on.
Short breaks are available across the low and mid seasons.

Very good property and well fitted out. Parking looked complicated but it wasn't once we had worked it all out
We had a wonderful time at Slipway House. You have really thought of everything! It was like a home from home! Both my daughter and myself have great memories of her 21 st and my 50 th birthdays! Thank you for making our stay a memorable one and thanks for the wine, we had it on the sun terrace with lunch when we arrived. Will definitely return!
A beautiful house, very well equipped and excellent location. The only thing missing was hanging space for clothes in the bedroom with the two single beds.
A very comfortable, welcoming and generously equipped holiday home - there was everything we needed. Lots of room and amazing views over the river.
Our third stay in this lovely house and each year we seem to enjoy it more.
What a fantastic spot! We spent many hours gazing out the sitting room window watching the activity on the River Dart, the steam train come and go, the ferries zig zagging across the water, and the sun setting across Dartmouth. It was bliss and just what we needed at this stage of our round the world bucket list trip.
We had a fantastic week in Slipway House. It exceeded our expectations for location as well as quality.
Had to say that Slipway House is perfect. Lovely view over the River Dart, perfect for going on the steam train and just to pop over on the ferry to Dartmouth. The house is also very relaxing and ideal for some chilled out days. It is a plus that Slipway House allows dogs. They loved looking out of the window and getting the ferry every day. They would come back! We would definitely come again and will recommend to our friends with dogs.
We had a wonderful time. The weather has been fabulous and it has been great to be so close to the lovely little ferry - so convenient. Fantastic house, very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the stunning views.
We had a superb stay in a wonderful property that had everything we needed including a Christmas tree, thanks very much
Our second holiday, with our border terrier and visiting family members, in this lovely house overlooking the lower ferry on the River Dart. Found the people in Kingswear very friendly - none more so than the lovely couple in the Post Office next door to the property. Hope to return for as long as we can manage the stairs!
