Stable Cottage is one of three holiday cottages recently converted by the owners of this working livestock farm. The farm, which has been in the same family for over 100 years, is located along a private lane in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the outskirts of the village of Awliscombe, East Devon. The village is about 3 miles north of the busy market town of Honiton, famous for its antique shops and lace making and offering a good selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants.Set in an absolutely wonderful rural location on a working farm on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, the cottage has been sympathetically restored, retaining much of the character of the original building. The provision of a cosy wood burner and an environmentally-friendly under floor heating system make this a great choice for out-of-season breaks too. This property has recently received a prestigious VisitEngland 4 Star Gold Award for quality of accommodation and customer service. Also see property references WFPEAR and WFAPPL in this location.
The beautiful Jurassic coast of East Devon and West Dorset is easily accessible by car; the popular coastal resorts of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are both within 30 minutes drive. A wide range of local attractions will appeal to those of all ages including the gardens and maze at Escot, the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth and the Playdome (a children's all-weather play centre) in nearby Honiton. The Otter Inn and the Honiton Inn at Awliscombe, both serving food and real ale are also within a mile and half of the farm.

Very enjoyable stay on the farm in wonderful surroundings. Convenient location with short trips to local and seaside towns. Ideal for families with children.
Would very happily spend another holiday here. Thanks for the extra touches such as dog bowls and treats. The memory of the scones lives on.
Just a wonderful place for old & young alike, all needs catered for.
Excellent stay, could not fault anything about it!
This place is an absolute gem. Owners made us very welcome, home-made scones, Jam & Clotted Cream, went down a storm with us all. Free Range eggs onsite are a must! We definitely recommend this place, the location was fantastic, and just the break we needed. Rosie the farm dog, made our dog very welcome. Garden was totally secure for our dog to have a roam about, and she enjoyed meeting the lambs in the next field! Many thanks again, and we will be back one day.
Wadhayes farm is in a beautiful peaceful location, but only a few minutes drive to Honiton. It is a very easy drive to many seaside towns on the south coast of East Devon and West Dorset. Exeter and Dartmoor are easily accessible along the A30. The accommodation and garden was perfect for our requirements. We were given the opportunity to explore the farm and meet the animals. The owners went the extra mile to make us welcome, providing toys and games to play with, much to the delight of our granddaughter who loved the experience.
Whilst this was not first adventure into cottage holidays I am not very experienced. On arrival at Stable cottage after an "Interesting" few minutes negotiating the drive, I was amazed. The location is stunning, the cottage sits beautifully at the entrance to the lovely farm yard, but on entering the cottage it was supassed by the wonderful modernised but not ott interior a lovely spacious kitchen with everything you could possibly need and more. Kathy and Rich have done a marvellous job. The cleanliness, attention to detail, right down to flowers on the table and of course the scones jam and cream must be seen and savoured. If only all holiday accommodation and service could be this good. We had alovely time, I only wish the hills were a little bit flatter!!!! The local pub is also worth a visit, very friendly very good service and food is good and plentiful. I could go on but suffice to say would love to go back !,
