Description

Nestled on the banks of the River Yealm in South Devon's yachty haven of Noss Mayo is The Haven. This stunning waterfront self-catering home exudes a restful ambiance from its location set atop the hill overlooking the river. The South Hams region of Devon is where golden beaches and long country walks reign supreme and there are plenty of those within easy reach of this stunning family-sized property. This property offers reduced rates for smaller parties in low season.

The Haven is a luxury styled property with beautifully designed rooms, bedecked with fine linens and a stylish grown-up nautical feel. Steps lead down to the ground floor with large open plan lounge diner with fabulous waterside views and balcony the width of the house accessed via patio doors. Elegant sofas and armchair arranged around the open fireplace, with large flat screen TV with freeview, DVD player, DAB radio/CD with ipod point, and an array of books, games and films. Dining area to seat 8, with patio doors. Kitchen with double electric oven and grill, induction hob, microwave and dishwasher. Utility room with large american style fridge freezer, washer dryer. Access to rear of property with outside shower and sports storage area/trunk. Bedroom 1: Double bedroom with 4ft 6inch double bed, wardrobe area and chest of drawers, wall mounted flat screen TV, french doors to balcony overlooking the water. Adjacent to family bathroom with bath and shower over plus separate shower cubicle, basin, WC and heated towel rail. Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom with 3ft single beds, wardrobe and drawers, flat screen TV. First floor: Bedroom 3: the master bedroom with 4ft 6inch double boasts a Juliet balcony with river views, wardrobe chest of drawers and flat screen TV and an en-suite bathroom with overhead shower. Through here is a small hall leading to Bedroom 4: second Twin bedroom with 3ft single beds with chest of drawers – most suitable for children as located off the master bedroom and sharing the shower room opposite, within the master suite.  

Outside: Balcony leading from lounge area furnished with bistro table and chairs, stainless steel and glass balustrades from which to enjoy the fabulous views. This upper balcony level is gated, before steps lead down the wooden decking to the two lower deck levels furnished with large garden table and chairs, sun loungers and a children’s play area. A charcoal barbecue is also provided for careful use on the patio . To the rear of the property is a superb outside shower and hose, perfect for warming up after a day on the water.

Our week at the Haven was perfect. The house is immaculately finished and has incredible views across the creek. The Swan (5 min walk) is outstanding for both food and drink and Noss Mayo/Newton Ferrers are idyllic fishing villages. Plymouth is in easy reach as are other attractions like The Eden Project. Highly recommended – and we'll definitely be back!
