This unusual property has been tastefully and imaginatively converted from a former 19th century chapel and makes a wonderful, luxury holiday destination. At this beautiful holiday cottage, situated in Noss Mayo, South Devon on the hillside overlooking a creek, the visitor can enjoy wonderful views of the estuary from the verandah, looking towards the pretty twin village of Newton Ferrers. These two villages, scattered around the foreshore on either side of the beautiful Yealm estuary are the epitome of a Devon seaside destination, with colourful cottages, cosy traditional inns, a bustle of yachting and boating activity and just a stone’s throw away from some of the most spectacular coastline in the South West. The Old Chapel has a contemporary open plan living area with vaulted ceilings, feature windows and oak flooring that combine to create a wonderfully relaxing area for guests to unwind. A wide veranda, accessible through the display windows in the lounge, is a perfect place to sit or dine al fresco in the summer evenings whilst watching the lazy activity on the water. Downstairs, the three large bedrooms each have their own shower or bathroom facilities.  Some of Devon’s loveliest sandy beaches are a short distance away, the Dartmoor National Park can be reached in under half an hour and you are just a short drive from the border of the dramatic Celtic county of Cornwall. Whether you enjoy the coast or countyside, Noss Mayo offers a taste of coastal village ife providing a relaxing escape for old and young alike.

Open tread wooden stairs up to large open plan living area with oak flooring, real flame “log” gas stove and panoramic windows opening onto the decked verandah. Lounge area with sofa, 2 leather armchairs and 2 leather occasional chairs, flat screen TV and DVD. Dining area furnished with wooden table and chairs to seat 6. Ultra modern kitchen featuring granite worktops, with island unit housing a ceramic hob and microwave, which also provides a breakfast bar area. Eye level double oven and grill, dishwasher and fridge with separate freezer. The ground floor has three generous bedrooms and a utility room with washer/dryer and worktop with sink. The beautifully furnished master bedroom has a 4ft 6in double bed, antique wardrobe and pretty mirrored dressing table, (marble topped chest of drawers in passageway immediately outside bedroom) and an en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC. Second bedroom with 5ft double bed, fitted wardrobe, marble topped chest of drawers and bedside cabinets, wall mounted flat screen TV and en-suite bathroom with bath, hand basin and WC. Twin bedroom with two 3ft single beds, chest of drawers, hanging rail and large wall mounted flat screen TV, ideal for computer games or getting the kids away to grant the adults some peace and quiet. En-suite wet room with shower, hand basin and WC. Please note: open tread staircase, no fireguard and hard surfaces; children will need to take care.

Glazed doors from the lounge area open onto a wide private verandah with views to the estuary and furnished with rattan outdoor corner sofa to seat 6 with coffee table.

Lovely Old Chapel (Noss Mayo - unable to tell from your listing which code to use). The only reason not all selected excellent: television in living room poor quality and instructions didn't match the actual procedures we had to go through, lots of time spent on trial and error. Sound quality poor. Also, the recycling instructions didn't correspond with the bags left for us to use: no clear or blue bags so we couldn't bag up our waste like the rest of the village. On our arrival day the cleaners left all previous tenants' rubbish bags on our steps. We binned it but felt a bit awkward as weren't sure whose bins were whose and didn't want to offend any neighbours. The actual house was spotless and well cleaned and prepared. I think if you book it out for a week for 6 people you probably need to leave a bit more loo paper and more than three or four dishwasher tabs. However: we felt welcomed and comfortable in the stylish converted chapel and the kitchen was really good, with everything we needed. Bedrooms and bathrooms lovely. Thank you for the complimentary tea, coffee and Easter egg! We had a really lovely week and the above comments are simply our observations on the very few slight negatives we encountered.
