The Old Chapel is positioned upon a leafy quiet lane close to the centre of the charming village of Slapton which is a few minutes from one of the South Hams’ most well known stretches of coastline at Slapton Sands.  This former Methodist chapel, dating back to the 1860s, has recently undergone complete refurbishment and now offers light, bright and welcoming holiday accommodation, and it boasts two highly sought after amenities being private parking and a sunny enclosed garden – both of which are rarity in the village. The property’s open plan living area and modern facilities will appeal to both families and couples alike. The village, which has a rich history and is surrounded by unspoilt countryside, has much to offer including a well stocked village shop and two locally renowned pubs.  A short walk leads to Slapton Sands and the South West’s largest freshwater lake at the nature reserve at Slapton Ley.  The Old Chapel provides a relaxing base from which to enjoy the delights of the village and the South Hams.

Spacious and light open plan living roomLounge area with L shaped sofa, wall mounted electric fire, TV and DVD player.  Modern kitchen with ceramic hob, built-in electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and dining table to comfortably seat six.  Back door opens into garden.  External utility cupboard houses a freezer and a washer dryer.  Stairs from living room rise to first floor landing.  Double bedroom with pretty 5ft king bed frame, chest of drawers and built-in wardrobe. Twin bedroom with two 3ft single beds and chest of drawers.  Bathroom with bath, shower over, hand shower mixer attachment, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.

To the side of the property, a delightful raised garden is largely grassed and bordered with flower beds.  Two paved areas are equipped with garden furniture and are perfect for al fresco dining and enjoying the evening sunshine. Plesae note, the garden is not entirely enclosed, so small unattended dogs could escape.

Private off road parking for 1 large or 2 small cars in front of the property.

We enjoyed a wonderful short break at the Old Chapel which we found to be very well equipped and lived up to expectations. We would have no hesitation to book this property again if we were to return to Slapton. Thank you.

Lovely and quiet, high standard of decoration. Would really have appreciated a hair dryer and possibly a clothes horse which might reduce use of dryer time from owners point of view . Didn't upset me but there was hair in the bath plug which might detract for some people.

The Old Chapel in Slapton was our ideal holiday home this year in the picturesque and beautiful village of Slapton close to all amenities and local attractions. The property was well equipped for our 2 week stay and brilliantly looked after and clean on arrival. The garden was also well looked after, it would however have been useful for further information on the garden as we thought it was not completely enclosed for our small terrier as she could easily get under some of the fencing (where it meets the wall) and escape, so sadly we had to keep her on a lead in the garden. Otherwise it was a brilliant holiday home in a lovely location and I would not hesitate in recommending it to my family and friends and I hope to be able to visit again in future.
