A very nice property, had everything you would need from a holiday home. Had a lovely, relaxing week plenty to do lovely walks,a fantastic pub/restaurant a few doors down the cricket inn & britaniaonthebeach restaurant a little further. Looking forward to our next visit
I would like to say that our House owner was above and beyond the call of duty, As our wifi router wasn't working and she travelled for 3 hours to give us a new one...…. What a Star.. thankyou
Lovely location and well stocked cottage. Would definitely book again. Nice welcome cream tea!
Just love staying there
A lovely property in a great location and good food from the Cricket Inn as well.
Home from home really nice
Delightful accommodation in a fantastic position and setting - a great stay. Would definitely return. Only one complaint the occupants upstairs were very noisy - like elephants moving around! Wasn't a massive problem though as they went home the day after we arrived and was then empty for the rest of our week.
Stunning location, we had a wonderful holiday. The property was very clean, comfortable and a great place to stay. Cream tea and milk on arrival was a nice touch. Weather glorious with some sparkling September days and spectacular views of Start Bay. Table and chairs outside the property to enjoy a morning cup of tea and lots of walks from the door. Heartily recommend Britannia at the beach in Beesands - amazing fish, best to book as it is so good! Would definitely stay again and didn't want to leave!
The Old Post Office is situated in the perfect location for a stress-free, relaxing break. There is no phone reception at the property, which is not a bad thing, as that meant no interruptions from a busy life back home. The positioning of the cottage, right opposite the sea wall, with steps leading down to the beach and sea is amazing. As the cottage is in an East facing position, the sun rising over the sea, and into the living room each morning, is a perfect start to each day. The lane in front of the property leads to a dead-end, so there is no through traffic, meaning a very peaceful stay. However, at the end of the lane, there is a path leading up to the South West Coastal Walk, which is ideal if you are a hiker, but also means that the only down side, is the amount of hikers passing the property, and staring into this unique accommodation, which was annoying. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beesands, and would definitely return.
Please see above.
Very nice cottage on an ideal location. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay!
We had a great week. Lovely cottage, amazing location and the cleanest cottage that we've ever stayed in.
My wife and two daughters stayed for a short break at the Old Post Office in Beesands over the Easter Holidays. The Old Post Office is located towards the quietest part of the village which was really nice. It is a cosy two bedroom ground floor flat with a really lovely feel. Everything was readily available for our stay, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. The property also has underfloor heating, that gives it a really nice cosy feel. The owners kindly left a variety of books and DVD’s to keep us all entertained. A really nice touch. We have visited South Devon numerous times and this was our first time staying at Beesands. We were very pleased that we did! Beesands is a rare treat where you can stay right on the sea front. The area is beautiful and you can access the coastal paths right on your doorstep. The Old Post Office is located right on the sea, so we all loved getting out of bed in the morning seeing a beautiful sunrise and drinking our coffee on the seawall outside the flat. Our two girls (ages 5 and 7) collected sea shells and other things from the beach every morning. We walked to Start Point lighthouse along the coastal path, passing the historic village of Hallsands and then walked onto Mattiscombe sands seeing seals basking in the sun. This was a long walk for our two daughters but a very worthwhile walk. Beesands is a lovely quite village but has an excellent bistro pub and high quality takeaway. These both serve local sea food and are of exceptional quality. I am a keen amateur photographer and only had to cross the street to get stunning night and day photos of the sea and stars. Since returning I have been singing the praises of The Old Post office and Beesands to my family and friends and we are looking forward to our return trip very soon.
