Description

This superb, very spacious, detached and welcoming family property has quite outstanding views over the coastline, the open sea and the golf links. It is situated adjacent to the 9th green on Thurlestone Golf Course and has been extended to make two self contained houses sleeping 8 people in each. There are spacious lawned gardens to the front and rear of the property and parking for six cars. The magnificent views can be enjoyed from the living rooms and most bedrooms and the sandy beaches and the centre of the village are within easy walking distance. Thorpe Arnold Major and Thorpe Arnold Minor together sleep 16 and can be let together, availability permitting.

Thorpe Arnold Major Accomodation: 

Ground floor: Spacious living room comfortably furnished with sofas and armchairs, window seats,  large flat screen TV/DVD, Mini HiFi with CD, open fireplace. Dining room with dining table to seat 8. An additional trellis table is available, to seat up to 12 comfortably. Sliding patio doors to terrace and steps down to lawned garden. Well equipped kitchen with built in electric double oven, ceramic hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and hatchway to dining room, second fridge suitable for drinks fridge. Utility/shower room with washing machine and tumble dryer, walk-in shower cubicle,  basin, WC. Back door giving access to garden. First floor: Master bedroom with superking size bedchest of drawers and built in wardrobes, stunning sea views. Bedroom 2: Sea facing twin bedroom with 3ft beds and built in wardrobe. Bedroom 3: Second sea facing double bedroom  with 5ft king size bed (can be split to form two single 2ft 6inch beds  - please ask at time of booking if required) and built in wardrobe.  Bedroom 4: Rear facing twin bedroom with 3ft beds and built in wardrobe. All bedrooms have wash hand basins. Family Bathroom with bath and shower over, heated towel rail, basin and WC. Separate Shower room with basin and WC.

Ground floor: Bedroom 1: Twin bedroom with 3ft single beds, built in wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2: Second ground floor twin bedroom with 3ft single beds, chest of drawers. Family bathroom with bath and hand held shower, plus shower over, basin, heated towel rail and WC. Steps up to large utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. First floor : Open plan living room beautifully furnished with large scrunchy sofas and armchairs, flat screen TV/DVD, patio doors to balcony,steps lead from balcony down to terraced patio area and lawns beyond.  Dining area with dining table  to seat eight.  Attractive fitted kitchen equipped with built in electric oven and ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Bedroom 3: Twin bedroom with 3ft single beds, chest of drawers and hanging hooks. En suite bathroom with bath and handheld shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC. Second floor: Bedroom 4: Master bedroom with superking size bed  (zip linked beds, can be split, please ask at time of booking) sea views.  En suite shower room with shower cubicle, heated towel rail, basin and WC. 

Large gardens both at the front and the back open between both properties.

Ample parking in drive.

  • Local Facilities: Beaches at Cowrie beach 5 minutes walk.  Thurlestone Sands approximately 10 minutes walk.
    Village Inn and Post Office/shop 400 metres.  Golf Clubhouse quarter of a mile (course adjacent).  Pay to play (handicap required).

We had a great time! The property was really good for our two families and we would definitely want to stay here again.

We enjoyed our week at Thorpe Arnold very much. We had both Minor and Major sections of the property and were very pleased to find they had a connecting door. The property is well stocked with glasses and kitchen equipment. Major has two fridges which was good. The views were amazing. A couple of issues we had were that the smoke alarm kept on going off randomly. The Major part of the house only has storage heating which means that by 8pm, the house gets very cold. We were in the house in January during a chilly week and the bedrooms in particular were freezing. Stand alone oil radiators were supplied but one didn't work. The owners would do well to invest in central heating in this part of the property. Guests staying during the winter should make sure they bring plenty of coal/ logs/ kindling and hot water bottles. But overall, a lovely time was had by all. Thank you.

Incredible place, amazing uninterrupted views of the sea, literally on the golf course, and walking distance to the pub!!!! Fantastic

This could be a real 5 star property, given the amazing location, stunning and dramatic sea views and the very spacious accommodation that it offers. However the lack of attention to detail meant the interior decor and furnishings were not up to the standard expected from quality holiday cottages these days. Pictures and furniture were faded and the bathrooms would benefit from modernisation. Having said that I do appreciate finding a holiday cottage that was happy to accept more than one dog: if only more could be persuaded to do so!
