This delightful 18th century cottage is situated in the Old Town location of Lyme Regis – an enviable position, just a 5 min level walk from the beach and shops.  Full of character, tastefully furnished and decorated in light and airy colours with the added bonus of a beach hut on the seafront promenade too, just yards from the sandy beach, solely for the guests' use.  All your buckets, spades, deck-chairs, inflatables etc can be left in the beach hut for the week – it is also a great refuge when the weather is not quite so kind and a great place to change if you are brave enough to have a dip in the sea!

Within a five minute walk, guests can meander down to Lyme Regis bustling sea front and promenade. Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis is well known for its literary association with Jane Austen as well as its diverse geology which people from across the world flock to in the hunt for fossils. The historic old town retains an olde worlde charm with small streets filled with galleries, boutique shops and famed gastro restaurants and cafés.  Its sheltered south facing beaches are safe for children and water sports enthusiasts alike with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour.  For those who would like a change of scene and a day away from the beach, the surrounding rolling countryside, which is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts walking and cycling in abundance or perhaps while away a few days exploring pretty East Devon fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe or head to the market town of Axminster to sample Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen.

Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with icebox, electric oven and hob, microwave. The kitchen leads to the dining area with large dining table and 6 chairs.  Lovely light and airy lounge with french doors, comfortable sofas, freeview Flatscreen TV and built in DVD. On the ground floor is a shower room, WC and washbasin.  Stairs to the first floor and Bedroom 1 with a king size bed.  Bedroom 2 with twin 3ft beds. Large family bathroom with wash-hand basin, bath and shower attachment.  There is also a seperate WC.  A further staircase leads up to the bedroom 3.  A lovely big room with views over the rooftops to the sea and cliffs, twin 3ft beds.

Please note that the property has 5 steps leading up to the property and has a deep step leading to the kitchen/diner and downstairs shower room.

There is a patio area to the side and a small backyard is available for drying clothes.  

There is a garage to the front of the property for parking one average size family car. Garage dimensions are 1.85m H, 2.12m W, 5m L.  If there are further cars, we suggest the nearby carpark in Hill Road where weekly permits are available to purchase.

Excellent location close to all amenities, cottage bigger than expected which was good. Tucked back off main roads and own garage for parking which was a bonus, overall thoroughly reccomend.

We had a lovely time and were blessed with the weather. Much time was spent at the beach hut which attracted many compliments from people passing by.

My family including small grand children loved the house. It was very quiet. The icing on the cake was the beach hut, perfect, especially for a young family and my husband and I(grandparents) could sit outside. A much added bonus and very well equipped. Having the curtain to change behind was indeed brilliant . Would certainly come again

We had a fantastic holiday, the only negatives would be the cooker has seen better days and direction to the Beach Hut. Have spoken to someone at your office about this. It’s the 2nd number 22! ( Both number 22s have a blue door ) Would be very happy to book through Toad cottages again. I’m already looking for another property for next Easter. Many Thanks.

For me the double bed was a little firm. but loved the provision of Bath sheets as opposed to bath towels.
