Wayfarings, a comfortable detached holiday home with sea views set in the pretty thatched village of Thurlestone, provides a superb taste of contemporary living in a much sought after seaside location. Just a few minutes’ walk from the village shop, pub and 4 star Thurlestone hotel, this family-friendly holiday home has been extensively refurbished to provide a high standard of accommodation and home comforts for families, adult groups, golfers or those simply looking for a luxury retreat in a great location. Golden sandy beaches and the stunning Lonely Planet award winning South West Coastal Path are only a few minutes' walk from the doorstep. The yachting mecca of Salcombe is only a short drive away and many other beautiful areas of interest within the South Hams all to be explored.
One step up to front door and into glazed porch. Cosy sitting room/snug with sofa, two armchairs, window seat, flat screen TV and fireplace with electric log burner. Fabulous open planliving room with underfloor heating, comfortable lounge area with a large sofa, armchairs, flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD and wireless Broadband internet. A beautiful dining table and seating for twelve looks out onto the large patio and garden, through floor to ceiling sliding doors. The state of the art kitchen is well equipped with a large electric Range Cooker and ceramic hob, built-in eye level grill and microwave oven, large larder fridge plus a second large fridge freezer, dishwasher.
Adjacent is the utility room with washing machine, sink, tumble dryer, coat hooks and ample space for storing golf bags and leisure equipment with access straight out onto driveway.
Ground floor twin bedroom with bay window and chest of drawers. Adjacent to this is the walk-in shower room with WC, countertop basin and heated towel rail.
Upstairs are 3 further bedrooms. Bedroom 1: The Master bedroom with 6ft superking sized bed, built in wardrobes, chest of drawers and French windows opening out onto a lovely balcony which runs the full width of the house, with views over the village and out to sea. Ensuitebathroom with bath and shower over, countertop basin, WC and heated towel rail. Bedroom 2: A sea facing twin bedroom with 3ft beds, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and French windows opening out onto the balcony. Bedroom 3: Garden facing twin bedroom with 3ft beds and built in wardrobe. Family bathroom with bath and shower over, WC, pedestal basin and heated towel rail.
The private rear garden has a large paved terrace with charcoal barbecue and provides another great dining space with garden table and chairs, steps leading up to lawn, orchard and bordered with shrubs. There is also a summer house (for owners use only). A gated pathway leads around the house to the front driveway.
Ample parking on gravel driveway to the front of the property.

Great house in a brilliant location!
The property was spacious, stylishly furnished and well located with good kitchen and bathroom facilities - almost perfect for 4 adults and 2 children and plenty of room for extra guests to eat with us. Certainly the best holiday house we have rented (and there have been a lot over the years). We would love to revisit if we can find a suitable time.

The property was ideal in terms of size and open space downstairs, especially for said toddler. The decor was well planned and attractive. The bedrooms were fine and the showers/plumbing was of a high standard. The Hot water however was extremely hot and the boiler seemed to be working hard , even in the hot weather of our second week. The thermostat on the boiler appeared to be turned up to maximum, but we did not want to interfere with the controls !
Used Toad Hall for a number of years now. Always a good experience, properties always meet expectations. Only thing stopping us from returning to Wayfarings was distance from the beach etc...
We spent a wonderful in Wayfarings with our dear family including our first grandchild, 6 month old Otto. The house was just perfect and the weather amazing.
