Excellent entertainment for everyone, plenty of activities for most age groups, food acceptable and basis, no rubbish bins so if picnicking you need to take everything away with you, they do however accept rubbish accumulated on purchases made on site. A good day out. Lots of parking spaces.

August 2021

A good outdoor attraction for all the family to enjoy.

July 2021

Lovely country park. Very interesting play structures for the kids set during a lovely forest walk - with an excellent high tree walk for all ages. no entrance fee - just pay for parking. The park has an excellent miniature railway - really well supported and maintained - it has a really extensive layout with realistic signalling. It is operated like a real railway. Great fun. Food available - but in times of social distancing it was really busy with queues which is understandable. All in all a fab place to visit - kids loved it. There is also a Go Ape centre at the park for additional cost - but outside the age range for our kids so we didn't try this.

July 2021

Lovely place for a visit either for walking or cycling. Great for kids

August 2020

We had 6 children with us (aged 5 down to 10 weeks old) and had a wonderful day here, walking through the forest, going on the little train ride and the nature trail.

Nice beach with good facilities

April 2023

Beautiful beach, lots of sand for youngsters- definitely been high on our favourites list, for more than 30 years and still is now the 'children' are nearly 30! - well worth the drive from New Forest. The Noisy Lobster is great and now has an 'outdoor upstairs' too. The Beach Cafe, half-way along, is excellent too- used to do very good carrot cake! The connecting beach towards Steamer Point is dog-friendly all year which is a bonus. Walking to the quay end, you can catch the ferry to Hengistbury Head which is beautiful beach too and often quieter (top favourite!) Even this last week (JULY 2021) the 'kids' wanted to crab-fish from Mudeford Quay!!

Highcliffe Beach
Highcliffe Beach
(9 miles)

Highcliffe beach, beneath the popular Cliffhanger Restaurant is a part sandy, part pebble beach. The beach has sloping access as well as steps down to the shore from the pay and display clifftop car park. To the east, Highcliffe beach towards Barton on Sea is a part sandy beach at the foot of the second most eroded cliff in England. This side of the beach is dog-friendly all year. However do check the tide times as high tide can make it difficult to walk along the beach.

To the west towards Highcliffe Castle beach, the promenade leads across the top of the small beaches inbetween the groynes with views across Christchurch Bay and Hengistbury Head. Groynes 4-8 have dog restrictions as does the promenade during the summer months, May-September.

December 2023

Yes we did have a lovely time.

May 2023

This is the second time we have stayed at West Wing. It is a beautiful property with lovely gardens and made an ideal space for a family get together. Location is excellent, in quiet road but only a few minutes walk away from shops and other facilities.

October 2022

We had a lovely stay - it was lovely and clean and very comfortable. Furnishings were really in keeping with the property. And the bonus of a 'tuned' piano was brilliant. (We have been in other properties which said they had a piano but it was unplayable!) Tea and milk was very welcome too as we waited for our Sainsbury's order!

September 2022

An excellent location. Spacious house.

April 2022

I’ve been holidaying in the New Forest for 30yrs and like to try different places to stay - this property was one of the best I’ve stayed in both for the house itself and the location. Right by the A31 but without seeing or hearing it, so handy for the Forest, the seaside or travelling further afield. We walked into Ringwood several times, literally 2mins to the shops and a little further to The Fish Inn a new favourite for lunch. Beautiful house, well appointed kitchen, we felt at home straight away and we’ll definitely be back.

April 2022

We had a great time and loved exploring Ringwood. The Railway pub was great for a drink, best burger I’ve had and Lovitaly was also really good. Further afield Ocean Reef at Bosecome was a lovely spot for a drink and we went to Avon beach for walks too

April 2022

Really enjoyed our time at West Wing, the location is very central and close to amenities, the beach and the New Forest Very spacious and cosy accomodation

September 2021

Lovely place with a real homely feel and not at all like a ‘rental’.

August 2021

This was our 2nd stay here. We hope to come again next year. Having never encountered a piano in holiday accomodation before, we were delighted with the grand piano and all 3 generations of the family made music together. We brought lots of instruments of our own as well. We also appeciated the extra room at the dining table and the many extra plates, cutlery etc, as we had booked another accomodation nearly by for two other members of the family, so they were able to join us for a few meals. We had 3 birthdays and the unused Xmas pud from last year to celebrate!!

July 2021

Beautiful property, very well maintained and great location.

June 2021

We loved the piano and the croquet set! Great location to walk into Ringwood, and drive to various locations. Really lovely furniture and beautifully decorated Would stay again!

October 2020

We had a most enjoyable stay in the wing. A lovely spacious yet cozy house, well equipped, tastefully furnished and a lovely piano as a bonus. Add to that a lovely garden and a Good location. What more could you ask for in a holiday let.

September 2020

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house is stunning and decorated with great thought and care.

September 2020

We had an excellent time. The well-kept enclosed garden was a real bonus. Nice to have a big fridge and the kitchen was well equipped.

September 2020

We particulary enjoyed having a grand piano! Also, the spaciousness of most of the rooms. Ideal our three-generation family. The garden was lovely too. In this time of pandemic we were able to meet up with some friends from Bournemouth for tea in the garden. Lovely spacious kitchen-dining area. Lovely big windows to let in the light.

February 2020

The property was less than 10 minutes walk to Ringwood town centre with lovely shops and cafes. Wood burner in the lounge was perfect for cold and windy February evenings. Property was full of character and was beautifully furnished. My youngest son played the piano every day...he is studying music at college. Would recommend highly.

May 2019

The garden was beautiful and very well tended by the gardener while we were there.

November 2018

Our son loved the Piano, and we loved the open fire, the best fire we have had in properties we have hired.

October 2018

Very much - this was a trip down memory lane for me and and my mother. My grandmother had been housekeeper to admiral egerton at the Manor house in the 1960s before it was sold and converted into flats. Although it has clearly changed a lot from the memories we have of the house it was lovely to be back there and remember how it was way back then. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished, very comfortable and well equipped. We would definitely like to return in the future.

August 2018

We had a very enjoyable relaxing week the accommodation was excellent with just the above comments
