1 Marine Terrace is a centrally located end of terrace town house set back from Eddystone Road in the popular North Cornish town of Wadebridge. Located just a few miles away from some of North Cornwall's most beautiful beaches, the bustling town of Wadebridge is an excellent destination for visitors. The town itself boasts a wide selection of small, independently owned shops and eateries, as well as a two-screen cinema and larger supermarkets on its outskirts. Wadebridge is also the starting point for the picturesque Camel cycle trail to Padstow and Bodmin, and there are plenty of cycle hire options available to suit all ages and abilities.

The popular beaches of Polzeath & Daymer Bay, both family friendly, are just fifteen minutes by car and offer an array of water based activities as well as some stunning walks along the South West Coast Path. Polzeath has a range of shops and surf hire with three car parks whilst Daymer Bay has a seasonal shop and a car park.

Just 8 miles from Wadebridge is the charming town of Padstow, known for its pretty harbour and quirky shops. Padstow is also home to some of the county's most renowned "foodie" restaurants, owned by chefs such as Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. Rock is a fifteen minute drive where you can enjoy great cafes, restaurants and try your hand at waterskiing from the Camel Ski School, sailing or take a sea safari. Rock has its own beach which also connects with Daymer Bay at low tide and you can take a passenger ferry across to Padstow.

Entrance

Upon entering the property through the front door, a step up from the paved parking area, you will find yourself in the Entrance Hall. This area includes coat hooks and an under stairs cupboard for storage.

Living Room

From the hall, a door leads into the carpeted sitting room, which features a Bay window overlooking the front of the property, two comfortable sofas, and a TV situated in the corner of the room.

Kitchen / Dining Room

Through a further glazed door, you will enter the spacious Kitchen/Diner. The dining area includes a table and four chairs, a sideboard, and a large open arch that leads into the fitted kitchen. The kitchen boasts an island with three stools, a built-in fridge and freezer, a slimline dishwasher, a washing machine and a range with a 5-ring gas hob, double oven, and grill. The kitchen is bright, thanks to two large Velux roof lights and a window that overlooks the garden.

Shower Room

Next to the kitchen is a large shower room, featuring a glazed corner shower with a step-up, a basin, a W.C, and a heated towel rail.

To access the first floor, you can take the carpeted staircase from the entrance hall, which has fifteen steps leading up to the landing.

Bedroom 1

The first bedroom includes a King-sized bed, plenty of storage, a window to the front, and a TV.

Bedroom 2

The second bedroom is a twin room with 3ft single beds, ample storage, a window to the front, and a TV.

Dressing Room

There is also a small room with a dressing table, chair, and mirror, as well as a window overlooking the garden, this room can accommodate a travel cot.

Bathroom

Finally, a family bathroom with part-tiled walls, a bath with a shower over it, a W.C, and a heated towel rail complete the accommodation.

Accessed from the kitchen is a lovely, enclosed garden featuring a patio area complete with a table and chairs, a small lawn, a rotating washing line, and a door that leads out onto Trevanson Street and then only a short stroll into the centre of Wadebridge.

One of North Cornwall’s main market towns, Wadebridge is an excellent base from which to discover the county. The town sits on the Camel Trail giving both cyclists and walkers access to over 18 miles of largely traffic-free paths in some of the most spectacular countryside in the South West, as well as to the sea at neighbouring Padstow.

Wadebridge acts as a hub for many popular Cornish towns and villages, with a good mix of shops, market and a varied calendar of events including the Royal Cornwall Show and The Cornwall Folk Festival.

Nearby Padstow is a popular seaside resort and home to the National Lobster Hatchery, Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and other Michelin Star restaurants. The picturesque coastal town is reminiscent of a bygone era, with many fishing vessels sitting in the bay, white washed houses and cosy taverns and cafés.

Bodmin Moor is also easily accessible from Wadebridge along the Camel Trail offering miles of walking across rugged moorland, steeped in mythical legends. Tintagel Castle, said to be the birthplace of King Arthur, is just a short drive away. The castle ruins are perched on top of dramatic cliffs and are well worth a visit for the views alone.

For those seeking out a beach, Wadebridge offers good access to some of the best beaches in the country with the popular surfing beaches at Newquay close by, as well as the quieter beaches of Polzeath and Harlyn Bay.

A holiday cottage in Wadebridge offers the ideal base for exploring the stunning coast, countryside and moors of North Cornwall.

At the front of the property, there is a private paved drive that provides access to two parking spaces. A further spaces is reserved for the owner's personal use and is marked off with a rope. The property is set back from Eddystone Road.

Camel Trail
Camel Trail
(Less than a mile)

(2)

Perfect for cycling, the Camel Trail is an 18-mile largely traffic free, surfaced and virtually level, multi-use trail that you can use to explore the Cornish countryside. The track brings back to life a disused railway line that runs between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin and Padstow. It's ideal for bicycles, wheelchair users, horse riders and walkers, and is broken down into three main sections set up to around six miles each, which is probably more manageable than the total 18 miles, on an average day at least! It's free to use, bike hire is available at Padstow, Wadebridge, Bodmin and Wendfordbridge and toilets are in situ along the trail and in Padstow town centre.

Flat 6 miles walk from Wadebridge to Padstow (or Padstein as we called it!). Plenty to look at but no facilities, there was a closed cafe 2 miles short of Padstow. Lots of cyclists so listen out for them.

Rock Beach
(5 miles)

(1)

Rock beach is a beautiful long white sand beach located on the mouth of the Camel Estuary. This Area of Outstanding natural beauty is a haven for wading birds and the prefect spot for a swim in the clear blue waters or a picnic admiring the fantastic views. The beach is backed by sand dunes, please try to avoid walking on the dunes and keep to the footpaths where provided as there has been a huge amount of erosion in recent years. Dogs are welcome on the beach all year round and there is easy access to shops and all facilities including public toilets. Parking can be found in the car park just behind and access is via a ferry slipway or steps.

What a fabulous beach, dog friendly all year, when the tide is out the beach is huge, our dogs had a brilliant time. The car park is reasonable priced and toilets were clean.

Let's tackle the two downsides first. The narrow single track lane descending to the car park ican be challenging at busy times. The other one - the sheltered position means no waves for boarding. Great sandy beach, safe for kids with a good size car park and easy access down to the sands. Great views over the Doom Bar. Easy to walk down to Rock Beach and St Enodoc's church is worth a visit.

Port Quin
(6 miles)

(1)

A rocky beach in a narrow, sheltered cove, Port Quin Beach is close to Port Isaac, and is only accessible at low tide.  Its rugged landscape is beautiful to see, but its location means that it’s largely popular with seasoned walkers and those looking to go snorkeling and kayaking.  Unspoiled and peaceful, it reveals a treasure trove of rock pools when the tide is out, and the nearby village is largely deserted, having once had thriving fishing and mining industries.  Today both the cove and the village are owned by the National Trust and there is a car park courtesy of them in Port Quin.  Dogs are banned between Easter and October, and there aren’t any facilities nearby – it’s all about enjoying the peace and quiet.

Could park nearby and enjoyed a cream tea from the 'Salt Pig' van in the carpark. Paddled here and ran the dog one evening, and walked a bit more of the coast path.

Port Isaac Beach
(6 miles)

(2)

Since the arrival of Doc Martin on the small screen, Port Isaac has soared in popularity, and the pretty little village with the historic harbour, which also serves as the beach, has become instantly recognisable.  Still an active fishing village with crab pots scattered about, the sand stretches between twin piers at low tide and has a small stream and lots of rock pools to explore, so it’s ideal for children.  Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round, and as it’s at the centre of the village there’s easy access to shops and all facilities including public toilets.  The car park for the town is a 10-minute walk away, and while there are a couple of parking spaces on the beach itself, just make sure you park above the high water mark, or keep an eagle eye on the tide!

Lovely setting worth a look, dog friendly.

July 2022

Worth a visit, about half a mile walk from the car park, the return journey is quite steep but there is a shuttle taxi for those less able to manage the walk. Beautiful little harbour beach and of course doc Martin’s surgery. We ate in the hotel beer garden, food and drink was nice and reasonable priced.

Port Gaverne
(6 miles)

(3)

A sheltered beach on the north Cornwall coast, Port Gaverne Beach is in a narrow cove just east of Port Isaac.  It’s comprised of sand and shingle with lots of rock pools to explore at low tide.  In the summer months it can get quite busy given the popularity of the location and its suitability for families.  Surrounding walks along the cliff path are delightful and at high tide the beach is favoured by divers.  There’s also a slipway and it’s sometimes used to launch boats because of the easy access from the road.  Thanks to it proximity to Port Isaac half a mile away facilities and restaurants are nearby, and the beach welcomes dogs all year round.  You can also park in the village although there is limited road parking by the beach itself.
