Scattered around a tranquil creek, off the beautiful River Dart, is the historic village of Stoke Gabriel. At one time, the foreshore, was a popular haunt for salmon fisherman, but today, you’re far more likely to see crabbing lines dangling into the mill pond waters. The village has two welcoming pubs, The Church House, and The Castle, and a successful football team known as “The Railwaymen”. The village churchyard is also home to a legendary 1,000-year-old yew tree. Amidst this lovely setting, you’ll find Adam’s Orchard, an enchanting thatched cottage with lots of traditional features, such as, its wooden floors, pine latch doors, polished open beans and delightful furnishings. It’s also one of our many dog-friendly holiday cottages. Discover the heart of South Devon when you book one of our holiday cottages in gorgeous Stoke Gabriel.
