The cottage was helpfully equipped. The washing machine is essential for family on longer stays such as ours. The garden was great for a dog. The location was good for amenities and a good point to explore from. Previous guests make a big fuss about the drive. We really couldn't understand the problem. yes it is narrow but we reversed a mini bus into to unload and we parked opposite after this point. In the Yorkshire Dales where we live many properties do not have a drive so you just manage.
Honestly, it was such a lovely cottage and was perfect for the two of us. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the living room/dining room was delightful. I would definitely hire out this cottage again in the future.
Had a great stay. The cottage was cosy and well equipped. Ideal location
We loved our stay. Perfect location and lovely cottage. Would deffinetly recommend this cottage to others
We had a lovely stay at the Alexander Cottage during the Christmas period for one week. It is nice and cozy, comfortable, well-equipped and well located to visit all the nice places in New Forest. There is a nice size garden which the kids also enjoyed. Great support from the New Forest Cottages Team and the owner himself for any question, issue which was much appreciated (the wifi wasn't working when we arrived but got fixed). We highly recommend this cottage. Mrs Rahmoune (family of 4)
Lovely cottage. Well equipped with lots of little home comfort extras supplied. Despite being on the road, it is a very quiet location. Be aware that the straits are very steep and narrow, and if you are a family of 4 it might be a bit cozy. We stayed here as a couple with our 2 dogs and had a great time. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this. One small negative - our mobile phone signal was not the best here, and also the wifi didn't work for the whole of our stay- although am sure this was only a temporary problem, shame it wasn't fixed during our stay.
Excellent property, although 2nd bedroom is small! Location made it within easy reach to many places in New Forest and on the coast. Comfortable walk into Lymington, which is a pretty seaside town and a short boat trip to Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.
