August 2019

Very welcoming - thank you

August 2019

We had a great holiday in a wonderful cottage and will be looking to come back again. The accommodation was ample for 2 adults, 2 children and a big dog.

June 2019

Another lovely stay at Beckaford Cottage, great location and walks from the door, perfect!

April 2019

The cake and fruit was very welcome and the hosts were very welcoming.

March 2019

Stayed February 2019 - Another fantastic stay at Beckaford Cottage. Rubbish weather but amazing running and walking. Thanks very much!

March 2019

Stayed New Year 2018 - Thanks for a fantastic stay. This part of Devon is exceptional. The Christmas tree was a lovely surprise and cake made us feel so welcome!

March 2019

Stayed Christmas 2018 - Fabulous cottage - unbeatable location for great walks across the moor. Lovely weather. Thank you for the cake and Christmas tree :-) It's been a great week. Many thanks to Claire and Chris.

November 2018

The very friendly owners surprised us with Tea, cake and flowers, when we arrived. Lovely place at the heart of the moor and a good staring point for walks! Internet and television (full program) are excellent!

August 2018

Owner very friendly, The horses were a bonus. Lovely place

August 2018

Yes! It was a wonderful, cosy cottage in a delightful, rural location. The furnishings were a little 'rustic', but that befitted the style of the cottage well and the advertisement was not misleading. It was good value for money. Thank you!!

July 2018

Beckaford Cottage is in a wonderful location with amazing views. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home and after two weeks there, it was very hard to leave. Chris and Claire were extremely welcoming, friendly and kind, ensuring our stay was even more enjoyable. The cottage itself was perfect; comfortable, well equipped and peaceful. With open moorland so close, great walks from the farm and excellent links to the South hams, it was a great location to make the most of everything Devon has to offer. We certainly hope to be back!

July 2018

Lovely stay but found the cottage was not really suitable for our dog as living accommodation was upstairs and steep wooden stairs to reach it.Ok maybe for small dog but not a large one not used to stairs!

May 2018

Perfect cottage in idyllic setting.

May 2018

We loved our stay in Beckaford cottage. Its a lovely slightly isolated place (apart from the owners in the farmhouse next door). The peace, quiet and beautiful location is so restorative. Claire and Chris made us very welcome and we were delighted by teh lovely cake, flowers, fruit and pint of milk we found on our arrival - so thoughtful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay in this cottage again if we were coming back to this area (which is quite likely as its so beautiful). The only very slight disappointment was the nearest pub isn't a pleasant stroll away (its a bit further) and isn't very appealing. And the dog loved it!

May 2018

Yes lovely holiday and very helpful owners.

February 2018

Beautiful view from the cottage and lovely spot for walking--plenty of options from the door. Thoughtful touches were appreciated including fresh fruit, cake, flowers and milk on arrival. The owner, Clare, was friendly and welcoming. We plan on returning!

February 2018

We had a wonderful time at Beckaford Cottage, a stunning location with ever changing views, a great base from which to explore Dartmoor, Chris and Clare are lovely hosts, and the horses in the adjacent stable are anybody's for a juicy evening apple! Thoroughly recommended.

November 2017

Beckaford was one of the best cottages we have stayed in - the barn has been converted to give a traditional feel with practical comfort. The views over Dartmoor were phenomenal and there were lots of country activities available nearby that weren't over commercialised. The owners were fantastic - friendly and caring but not intrusive.

November 2017

Second visit - just as special as the first .......perfect.

November 2017

Had a wonderful time. This is our second visit in approximately six months. We would have come sooner but this was the earliest available week. We plan to come back next year.

July 2017

Very comfortable stay, with great views from property, and a good variety of walks from the cottage.

July 2017

It was nice to return to Beckaford cottage after a couple of years to find everything was still just as lovely as our previous two times. Clare & Chris made us and the dogs feel very welcome. Thanks - Alan & Angela

July 2017

Becka ford cottage is in the most stunning location. It provides everything you could need for a great holiday exploring the surrounding area or just relaxing at the cottage. Chris and Claire are wonderful hosts and made us very welcome in their lovely cottage. Extra touches like home backed cake, flowers and fruit on our arrival were just so thoughtful. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and hope to return there ourselves in the future.

June 2017

Chris and Clare were very welcoming and our daughter was delighted to be allowed to help out a bit on the farm. The cottage was really cosy and was big enough to allow us to just chill out indoors one day - if you're a bookworm, you'll love it! There are also games and jigsaws available for traditional family entertainment as well as the usual TV, DVD and radio and excellent wifi for those who need their electronics on holiday. The location is perfect for a walk up onto Dartmoor and within easy reach by car of lots more Devon attractions, though you need to be careful driving on the narrow twisty country roads.

May 2017

We think that this is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in if not the best.

May 2017

Wonderful place to stay. We had a wonderful time walking and eating. Nearest shop is Ullacombe farm shop which sells just about anything you could want, just 2 miles away. Chris and Claire are a lovely friendly couple, very helpful.

April 2017

Had a great time

February 2017

A beautiful place with glorious view and ideally located for some great Dartmoor walks. We had a wonderful week at Beckaford Cottage and would love to stay here again on our next trip to Dartmoor.

February 2017

After staying at Toad Hall Cottages in the past I can rest assured knowing my chosen cottage will be to the highest standard and very good price. Highly recommend.

February 2017

Had a lovely holiday. Will definitely book with Toad Hall Cottages again. The cottage was lovely and the location superb. Cannot fault anything about the holiday at all. Thank you.

December 2015

Well equipped, clean cottage in a beautiful location. We have enjoyed a fantastic week sea fishing in Salcombe, swimming in the sea at Bigbury, visiting the zoo at Paignton, and even managed a hack across the morrs

December 2015

A lovely relaxing week. Beautiful views, lots of long walks and plenty of fresh air. Thanks so much, just what was needed.

April 2015

A perfect homely cottage set in a stunning area. The owners were lovely, giving our son a wonderful opportunity to help feed the lambs, groom the horse and generally be part of such a friendly environment. The welcome pack of flowers, cake, fruit and tea was more than we had expected and delicious. Our son was also delighted to discover that the Easter bunny also lives on Dartmoor! I am sure we will visit again, thank you for a lovely holiday.

November 2014

It is what it is - a lovely quaint cottage in the back end of Manaton on the top of Dartmoor. If you want the Ritz, and bustle, then go to London. If you want seclusion, in a house that fits within its environment, that is comfortable, warm, and cosy give it a try. Only uber-townies who can't live without dual carriageways and can't abide the countryside are likely to be disappointed.

October 2014

Fantastic holiday. Perfect in every way

October 2014

Agreat relaxing week, just what we both needed

September 2014

Lovely Place. Spent a week there as a family with two adults and young children. Despite rainy weather keeping us inside at times we found the space was ample and the view from upstairs a delight. The hosts were helpful and courteous at all times, with a nice warm welcome. Plenty to do in the area. Many thanks

September 2013

Beckaford Cottage is by far our favourite holiday cottage so far. Clare and Chris give you a wonderful welcome with a vase of flowers, a bowl of fruit, tea and cake and a pint of milk in the fridge. The fire is also made up ready for you to get cosy in the comfy settee. The location is fabulous - we love it there and plan to return many times.

September 2013

My wife and I, plus the dogs, immediately feel at home at Beckaford. The living space is charming, comfortable and well equipped. The views from the cottage are stunning.

August 2013
