With a blue-flag beach, beautiful natural harbour and within 3 and a half hours drive from London and the Midlands, Sandbanks offers a spectacular beach holiday destination that ticks all of the boxes.

Having earned a reputation as the UK’s answer to Palm Springs, Sandbanks is a small peninsula of land that juts out into Poole Harbour. The golden stretch of Sandbanks Beach runs the length of the peninsula and beyond, offering safe areas for swimming, barbecues and a beautiful spot to watch the sun rise and fall.

A holiday in Sandbanks offers something for everyone with endless coastal walks, interesting day trips, great restaurants and lovely safe beaches for both kids, dogs and grown-ups to play.

If water sports are your thing, then both the harbour side and bay provide a playground for sailors, paddle boarders and boat enthusiasts. The legendary Shell Bay chain ferry clunks and creaks between the tip of Sandbanks and Studland across the bay, offering visitors the chance to day trip over to the Isle of Purbeck with its famous beaches, world heritage coastline and nature reserve.

The National Trust owned Brownsea Island rests in the middle of Poole Harbour and is well worth an explore for its unique wildlife, heathland and lagoon.

Whatever your reason for visiting Sandbanks, you’ll find plenty to keep you entertained in this beautiful corner of Dorset.

Parking for four cars.

This property offers a complimentary concierge and event planning service for the ultimate holiday experience. From private catering, butler services and drivers to restaurant reservations, boat trips, super cars and spa treatments, we’re here to help craft a totally unique and tailored stay. Great good and service, well worth a visit.

November 2023

Wonderful food and atmosphere.

September 2023

Never had a bad experience here. Staff always friendly and efficient and the food tastes very fresh and full of flavour. The place has nice vibe to it. The evening closing time is later than some other restaurants too; 10.30pm on a Saturday night. If you have the energy to walk up Evening Hill from Sandbanks, harbourside, to get here, you'll get great views especially at sunset.

July 2023

Great friendly restaurant, delicious food, good value

July 2022

What an excellent restaurant. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. Well worth a visit.

June 2022

Food was good but service was very very slow and not up to standard. We had our meals served the other way round, our main courses arrived first, them followed by the starters and the cocktails turned up last!!!

October 2021

A seriously good thai restaurant - a good 'modern' vibe, great music, excellent cocktails, made properly, a good menu with a good range of food and excellent staff.

October 2021

Highly recommended. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was done with a smile but it was a little slow on the evening we visited. The side dishes to share were well worth trying. A very nice clean venue.

It's hard to beat sandbanks, it's the perfect family beach and nearby Studland is beautiful and still a little bit wild and rugged, in a very good way.

June 2021

Great beach for little ones

September 2020

The cleanest beach we have been to in Britain and in these strange times, grest social distancing from everyone there

August 2020

Amazing beach - who needs the med when you have sandbanks

August 2020

Had an excellent stay over New Year. Clean, well equipped and warm. Everything we hoped for. Handy for beach and ferry, with Swanage, Poole and Bournemouth not far away. Would definitely like to return.

January 2020

We rented a hut on Sandbanks which was brilliant as with 5 children, we had a lot of stuff that could be left there all week. The only thing that lets this beach down is the cost of parking for the day and the terrible shortage of ladies loos. People are using the loos to change in and this results on ridiculously long queues on sunny holiday days. The beach is beautiful and very clean and safe for small children..

September 2019

Fantastic beach out of season, very dog friendly

November 2018

Excellent. Clean and child safe

July 2018

A nice property with good location to nearby beach and ferries. (Although ferry traffic gets busy on Panorama Road at times) Layout of property good on 3 levels. Only disappointment was level of cleanliness dirty floors and balcony furniture. Something easily remedied

July 2023

We have enjoyed several glorious stays at Harbour Lights. A well-equipped high-end home in a quiet residential area, it is extremely spacious with five good-sized bedrooms, all of which are en suite. The master bedroom, in particular, is huge. The house is perfectly located for local amenities including harbour water sports and the beaches at Sandbanks and beyond. The first floor deck is great for al fresco morning coffee and pre-dinner drinks. And the top bedroom also has its own peaceful deck with brilliant views of the harbour. A large garden and a games room on the lower floor provide excellent entertainment for youngsters. All in all, Harbour Lights has proven a perfect summer home away from home for us. It’s been a great place for us to spend time with family and friends and we really couldn’t fault it.
