The small additions made for a very enjoyable stay, eg a cupboard to put things in in the bathroom, good mirrors, plentiful towels, bath robes, a shower that has reasonable water pressure, good quality bed linen and comfortable beds and pillows also makes a difference.
Yes the carrot cake ran out too quick !!!
We had a great holiday in this superb accommodation. The setting is beautiful, wonderful views from the sitting room and outside summer house. The cottage is exceptionally well equipped and v comfortable. The extras were v generous and we were made v welcome.
Higher Beneknowle cottage is undoubtedly one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. Very spacious for 2 and very well equipped. Very generous welcome cream tea and other provisions including a bottle of champagne in the fridge. Easy to find and well placed to explore the South Hams and Dartmoor.
This is certainly a 5 star property and the best we have so far stayed in.
Would recommend to family and friends great property,s plenty of choice great communication, covers a wide area plus plenty of dog friendly cottages
i have been to many cottages over a period of 36 years and this one is in the top two, the top being sue bowaters gibb house from helpful holidays at the bottom of castle drogo estate 5star. but take nothing away from higher beneknowle fantastic.
We had a fantastic holiday (much helped by great weather). The cottage was in a great location, tranquil and beautiful but easily accessible. All the extra touches (such as White Company dressing gowns and foodie treats) were a beautiful, welcome surprise. Hope to find an excuse to go again.
Excellent, spacious and well equipped property. Very comfortable with lots of well thought out extras. Good location for visiting coast and Dartmoor.
We had a most enjoyable holiday at the cottage, with all being as specified and very friendly and helpful owners.
This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Some very thoughtful touches including dog treats!. It is really good to have somewhere nice to come and stay with our dog. We didn't see the owners before we left - it would have been nice to thank them in person.
We had a lovely holiday despite the weather and always looked forward after a day out to coming back to the cottage knowing it was cosy and warm.
We would love to return to the cottage it was more than we expected and the owners cottage is excellent and the couple who own the property are very warm and welcoming.
Pat & David were excellent hosts and ensured that our holiday was peaceful and relaxing in an idyllic location - plus the welcome pack was a nice touch which was very much appreciated.
This is our 3rd holiday with you and each property has been up to a good standard, but Higher Beneknowle has probably been the best cottage that we have ever stayed in (and we've stayed in quite a few now!)
Higher Beneknowle Cottage is perhaps the best self catering holiday accommodation we have stayed in. The location is very convenient and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.
Higher Beneknowle Cottage is perfect for people who are looking for a very high standard of accommodation and facilities. It is in an really good place for getting around in all directions. We found it ideal as it was dark and so quiet at night that we had the best sleep we have had in ages. The 'extras' provided just gave the final touch. We hope to return another year.
Pat & David made us very welcome and the cream tea, cake and champagne were especially good. Could not fault the cottage at all.
the accommodation was the best we have ever stayed in in the UK - the owners had taken their responsibilities very seriously - and it is much appreciated by guests. the garden also was very well maintained and presented and combined with the exterior of the building made for a very attractive place to stay.
