Description

Homelands, a most comfortable and attractive property, enjoys the best that the South Devon waterside village of Dittisham can provide. The cottage has secluded gardens with river views, gated parking, a large conservatory/playroom and is a real home from home in this outstanding waterside village. A short walk down the lane leads to a well known waterside inn and the river pontoon where children can spend endless hours ‘crabbing’ and ferries ply the Dart from Dartmouth to Totnes. This is a superb area for those who enjoy messing around in boats, with plenty to do from river cruises, visits to local National Trust properties, walking the scenic footpaths on both sides of the river and Dartmoor is within an easy drive. This is an idyllic setting for a memorable holiday in the South Hams.

Well equipped fitted kitchen with electric hob and built-under oven, dishwasher, microwave and larder fridge. Utility room with fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and adjacent shower room with large enclosure, basin and WC.  Inner hall and front door (rarely used). Downstairs single bedroom with 3ft bed and decorative Victorian fireplace. Upstairs: Twin bedroom with 3ft beds. Double bedroom with 5ft bed. Single bedroom with 3ft bed, river views and standard cot.All these bedrooms have decorative Victorian fireplaces. Further single bedroom with 3ft bed and river views. Family bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC.

Attractive enclosed gardens with lawned terraces and steps up to the gravelled driveway. Paved patio area outside the garden room provided with garden furniture and barbecue.

Gated entrance to driveway with parking for two cars.

Very much enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful and well worth the tortuous narrow roads. The house was clean and well appointed with equipment. The conservatory/games room was an added wow factor. Nice touch having a bottle of wine to welcome us.

We did enjoy our stay and especially liked the family room with the pool table as this became the focal point and was a great socialble area for a family to enjoy.

We enjoyed a wonderful family gathering at Homelands, Dittisham. The location was faultless and the house made a perfect setting for us as it is spacious enough to comfortably house us all yet still warm and cosy. Highly recommended.
