Ixworth Cottage is a most attractive barn conversion offering quality holiday accommodation in the delightful setting of a small family-run farm (it`s just a small-holding - no farm machinery). Situated on the outskirts of the attractive and historic market town of Ottery St Mary, and about 15 minutes drive from the pretty seaside resort of Sidmouth on the stunning Jurassic coast, the farm is a real delight. It`s home to a wide range of animals, including Pygmy goats, sheep, pigs and chickens. There are free range eggs and delicious homemade jams, as well as home grown seasonable vegetables, often available.This self-contained property has been thoughtfully designed to offer everything you could wish for in a really comfortable modern holiday cottage, including fitted kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom with power shower and central heating. The open-plan ground floor living area is light and airy with French windows opening to a sunny patio at the rear. Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms (both of which have beds that can be made up as either doubles or twins) and there`s a newly fitted bathroom.

The surrounding area offers much to do for all age groups, children will love nearby Escot (less than 3 miles away), keen gardeners will not want to miss the wonderful Otter Nurseries (just a couple of minutes walk away) and walkers will love the beautiful countryside routes on the doorstep (including a lovely stroll down the River Otter to the famous Tumbling Weir). The West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is about 35 minutes drive away. An idyllic holiday setting for families and couples, old and young alike.

Semi-detached property (with another holiday cottage next door, see BANTAM) on two floors. Ground floor: Open-plan living space with sitting area including TV, DVD and CD, dining area and open plan fitted kitchen with electric oven & hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. (Shared utility room with washing machines and tumble dryer).  Cloakroom WC. First floor: Bedroom 1 with super-kingsize 6ft (can be made up as a twin, please request when booking) bed and space for cot (this room can also be made up with an additional single z-bed & a cot). Bedroom 2 with king size 5ft (or twin) bed and space for cot. Bathroom with power shower over bath, WC.

A very pleasant and restful stay, with the added bonus of fresh eggs and meats on hand. The cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed.

This was our third visit to Ixworth Cottage at Ottery St Mary as we so enjoyed it here before. Clive and Nicky are so welcoming and friendly. The farm shop has some lovely produce and the bacon is scrumptious! We will be back next year for sure.
