Enjoy the best of Dorset’s country and coast at Little Perhay, a former farm cottage which has been lovingly refurbished to offer comfortable and characterful year-round holiday accommodation perfect for both couples and families. Set amongst colourful mature gardens and boasting delightful views over the surrounding rolling countryside, the cottage is only a few miles drive from the coast as well as the bustling market town of Bridport. Located along a farm track in the small West Dorset hamlet of Waytown, about 5 miles from the coastal fishing harbour of West Bay and just a 10 minute walk from the original River Cottage where Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall`s TV career was first launched. The cottage is set in a small terrace of four former farm cottages in exceptionally beautiful and peaceful countryside. On a clear night the lack of light pollution makes it the perfect spot for star-gazing. The hamlet has a traditional country pub (about 5 minutes’ walk by footpath from the cottage) and is a haven for walkers with a network of footpaths covering the surrounding countryside. The cottage is just a short drive to the sea and the whole of the stunning West Dorset and East Devon coastline, famous for its Jurassic fossils, is within easy reach. There are many quiet villages to be discovered in the surrounding countryside and Bridport with its shops and cafes is just a few minutes’ drive away.
Little Perhay won’t fail to delight and has recently undergone complete refurbishment to offer modern facilities with a hint of Moroccan flair whist retaining plenty of original country character. The welcoming lounge with its beamed ceiling, flagstone floor and feature inglenook fireplace inset with a wood burning stove is perfect to snuggle up in. This leads into a light and bright dining kitchen with a large picture window with wonderful far reaching views over the fields beyond. The large table can comfortably seat six guests. Upstairs two bedrooms are furnished with comfortable beds and enjoy pleasant views. The larger double bedroom can easily accommodate an extra camp bed if required. The sparkling shower room has a unique Moroccan sink. There is a lovely sunny garden to the front of the cottage to enjoy, and guests are also free to use a nearby field area for picnics. From time to time the friendly owners will have fresh produce from their garden available.

Fantastic place. Peace and quiet, lovely hosts and everything you need in the cottage. Spotlessly clean and the garden is amazing!! An interesting drive along very narrow lanes but well worth it.
Everything was fine though sometimes it was hard to find our way through the many narrow lanes. Just added excitement! Local pub very friendly with good food.
Wonderful cottage.Amanda was very accommodating. Lovely to have fields and walks to take the dog. The Hare and Hounds Pub a delight just a stone's throw away. We shall return.
This cottage is in a beautiful location in the quiet hamlet of waytown . Perfect for a peaceful holiday . Very friendly and helpful owners and beautiful gardens and excellent cottage . Less than a five minute walk to a lovely friendly pub that serves excellent food and drink We will definitely return . Our doggies loved it too ! Thank you
Enjoyed very much . Lovely and quiet
In spite of the seasonal weather, we had a great week ! Thank you !
A wonderful long weekend away from it all in the countryside. We had a day of snow when we stayed in and completed one of the jigsaw puzzles provided, and the cottage was cosy and felt like home with its log burner. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the shower excellent. The ground floor was spacious with flagstone floors so great for our golden retriever. Mandi the owner was on hand to explain things as soon as we arrived. She pointed out local footpaths and was very helpful. The Hare & Hounds is a lovely friendly local pub with good food and an excellent Sunday roast just 5 mins walk either down the drive or across 2 small fields.
Great cottage and Mandi was a brilliant host. Highly recommended.
Cottage was ideal, location and standard of cottage was perfect
The stay was excellent and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. The local pub is superb for food and location is ideal for touring about Dorset.
Lovely cottage, everything you could want equipment wise. Really clean and comfortable.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Lovely location and everything we needed in the cottage. Owner, Mandi, was on hand if needed and keeps up the gardens beautifully even in the heatwave we enjoyed. She made us feel very welcome, including our 2 elderly retrievers. We loved watching the cattle in the field behind the cottage and the walk to the pub was perfect across 2 fields. Pub food good and reasonably priced with beautiful views from the garden. Favourite beach was Cogden with nothing but miles of sand/shingle and just a short walk from easy parking, perfect for dog walking.
The cottage was beautiful in perfect location along with stunning views and fabulous gardens, the owner Mandy was very helpful and always around if you needed anything Great place to take Dylan our dog who loved it We will definitely be returning we enjoyed this lovely part of the country
A lovely, quiet, relaxing stay in glorious countryside. Loved the cottage which was very comfortable with great views across the open fields and beautifully maintained by Mandy. The local pub was friendly and welcoming with decent food. All in all, an excellent long weekend. Please pass on our thanks.
Beautiful, quiet and very peaceful. Fantastic dark night skies! Extremely helpful and friendly hostess, happy to go the extra mile not that this was needed as she had thought if everything. Massive kitchen with all mod cons. Lovely stone tiled floors and Persian rugs. Wonderful attention to detail everwhere. Great shower with digital controls. Garden delightful, full of flowers, beautifully cared for. This is the best cottage we've ever stayed in.
Everything was perfect - I really can't say anything else!
Absolute delightful cottage, warm and cosy with lovely homely features. It was perfect for the dog as access to a number of footpaths from the cottage and an easy drive to the coast and to the hills for some great walks. Mandi was very welcoming and greeted us on arrival which was especially kind as we were arriving in the dark and was on hand as required. I would highly recommend this cottage and I am sure we will be back.
We had a really fantastic short break at Little Perhay. Mandi was so welcoming and helpful. The cottage was warm and cosy with really good facilities. The location was outstanding and you could take lovely walks immediately from the front door. The gardens attached to the cottages were landscaped beautifully. The pub was a few minutes walk away and served good food and beer with a great garden with fabulous views over the Brit Valley. Easy access from the cottage to the Jurassic Coast and superb walking. I can't wait to go back.
Perhay cottage was lovely, cosy without being tiny. The gardens are absolutely beautiful, the field/large garden area was a great hit with the children and dogs! The owner was very helpful, always on hand when you needed her which we did when one of our dogs was very poorly. We had a fabulous two week holiday and will definitely be back to Little Perhay Cottages.
Beautiful cottage in equally beautiful location. Definitely the cleanest we've ever stayed in. Stunning view from kitchen window onto hills and lovely peaceful surroundings. Owner was extremely welcoming and friendly and gave us advice and information which helped us to make the most of our short stay. The local pub was also very friendly and hospitable. Lovely break away which definitely recharged our batteries.
A charming little cottage with good size kitchen in a quiet rural location. Nearby pub offering good beers and food, short drive to Bridport for supplies and close to the beaches. Perfect place if you are taking your dog.
After a very warm welcome along with hints and tips from Mandi we settled in to enjoy the comforts of Little Perhay. The log burner had been lit and there was milk in the fridge ready for a cuppa and fresh flowers on the table. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed so comfy. The surroundings were perfect for our needs with early morning dog walks straight from the door. The peace and quiet was amazing and the surrounding countryside so delightful. Fishing trips to West Bexington, West Bay and Lyme Regis are all within easy traveling distance and there is plenty of hill walking to keep you and your dog fit and busy. All in all a fantastic location with first class accommodation making our stay one to remember.
Mandy welcomed us to Little Perhay with home grown cucumbers(delicious!). The cottage is in a quiet secluded location about 10mins in the car from Bridport but yet within walking distance to the village pub. The cottage is cosy and beautifully furnished with personal touches like painted furniture. The beds were very comfortable and everyone slept well. The kitchen has everything you need and a wonderful view over open fields to the rear. Our two energetic boys and even more energetic dog all loved their stay. The location is excellent for exploring the nearby Jurassic coast and Bridport is great for shopping. All in all a wonderful stay!
