New property for summer 2024

Just a short walk to the beach at Harlyn is Sharmalyn, a large, detached house sleeping up to eight with sunny, south facing garden, parking and lovely views down towards the sea and beach.

This terrific size holiday home provides super space for a family holiday and can be rented at a reduced price (outside of the school holidays) by just a couple or two thanks to its layout and flexibility.

The beach at Harlyn has to be one of the best in north Cornwall with masses of golden sands and all accessed via a private residents footpath from Sharmalyn (sections of the path are uneven underfoot with a number of steps at the end going down onto the beach).

Down at the beach you will find the Beach Box cafe which is open throughout the year (longer hours during the season).  The cafe is licensed and serves an array of breakfast, lunch and early evening menu options with terrific views of the beach and sea of course!

Just over a mile away is the village of St Merryn which has a handy convenience store, two terrific pubs, a bakery and fish and chip shop.

Remember too, Harlyn is one of the 7 bays for 7 days so if you should fancy a change of scenery there are six other glorious beaches to choose from and all within a short drive of one another.

The picturesque harbour town of Padstow is just 3 miles from Harlyn and aside from its very pretty harbour, is most well known now for it's selection of quality eateries including Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth's No 6.

National Lobster Hatchery
(3 miles)

The National Lobster Hatchery is a unique organisation whose work in conservation, research and education separates them because they work specifically with a commercial species.  A charity based in Padstow, their work helps to make lobster sustainable in the UK, as the species alone is worth an estimated £30m a year. Both the Scandinavian and Mediterranean stocks have completely collapsed, so the hatchery aims to ensure global food security for future generations by facilitating the survival rate of eggs in the wild.  When you visit you can learn all about their work and support conservation.  They are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.15am, but opening times are seasonal so keep an eye on the website.  Prices are £12 for adults or £6 for children.
