Very much enjoyed stay. Loved views and beaches near by and lovely noss mayo
Would love to go back, location and views were great.
Yes. It was lovely.
Lovely comfortable cottage with great views of the sea
We had a lovely stay thank you. Lost the internet and phone due to the storms which presented us with some problems and it was going to take days to repair. Would be useful to have a few more instructions (what to do with bottles etc) and a local map.
We love this cottage. Perfect for dogs. Great setting on coastal path and views of the sea. Our only comment would be the lack of a mop or broom to keep the house tidy and more hangers in the wardrobes for women's clothing!
Cannot fault the service from Toadhall Cottages And from the staff onsite of cottage. We will be using Toadhall cottages again Stoke Cottage was amazing, with sea views and Beach within walking distance. Noss Mayo is Lovely as is the surrounding area. All I can say is we should have booked 2 weeks.
Great cottage in a great location, elevated on the hill side at Stoke Beach with excellent sea views. The beach was extreemly nice with a mixture of smooth sand & rocks for the kids to explore on. Not overcrowded a little Gem.
We stayed here for a week off peak and as the caravan site next door was closed we had a really peaceful and relaxing week. This cottage is furnished out to a very high standard and has everything you need. It is very dog friendly and in a wonderful location. We will definately be returning here the same time of year again and will consider this to be our winter retreat on an annual basis I think. Can't wait to return!
Stoke Cottage was perfect for us in every way. High speck cottage, beautiful location and sunshine.... what more could you want on holiday!
Had an amazing holiday in this beautiful cottage.
The cottage was in a superb location, but it should have been mentioned in the details that it's location was at the top of a very steep hill. The accommodation was of a very high standard and the downstairs layout was superb of our elderly Golden Retriever. Thank you.

Four of us stayed in Outport from 26th July for a week and at the end of that week we did not want to leave. What a fantastic part of our country Nos Mayo is. The property was ideally situated with absolutely stunning views. The property was very well equipped with a massive plus being extremely comfortable beds which are usually hard to find in holiday accommodation. The owners were very friendly with plenty of local knowledge. We will definitely be returning in the future.
The Swan Inn
Lovely pub, great food, best place to sit and watch the sun go down. New managers/owners are doing a fab job.
The Swan has been refurbished to a high standard, food is more basic than The Ship but nonetheless still great, service is a bit slow during busy periods as it’s become popular. Lovely seating outside the pub and down on Pope’s Quay where the kids can go crabbing as you sip on your drink! Dogs welcome inside which is handy.
Really liked this pub very local feel good beer and good food . Nice family run pub with good service and a excellent view from the outside decking.
excellent pub our favourite place to eat a drink when we are in the area, the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Food well presented.
Lovely local pub offering a wide choice of excellent food and beers.
Such a lovely local pub, good food and an excellent choice of dishes, most days a choice of special dishes too. Very friendly staff, dog friendly too, excellent position. Wish James and Amy every success with their new venture, deserve to do well. Thoroughly recommend and shall return on our next visit to Noss Mayo. Gill and John.
Popped in here for a lunchtime drink on Christmas Eve. Busy but very welcoming. We didn't eat but the menu looked good and if it hadn't been so busy due to Christmas we would have eaten there.
Great local pub, good food and drink, nice outside seating by the creek
The Swan Inn is under new management and is a wonderful place to go for a drink and/or food. During our stay we did both. We had a three course meal and all courses were excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive and efficient. My steak came as ordered. The cask ales were well kept. The pub was clean, modern and buzzing with the chatter of our fellow diners / drinkers. First time we have been into this pub and it will not be our last. Would advise to book in advance for Friday or Saturday nights, as it is a popular establishment.
Excellent pub food
We had some really great meals here over the last week. The food was superb with a great choice. Landlord and land last were lovely and really helpful.
Beautiful pub. Beaitifull setting. Sunny on tbe terrace in tbe evenings. Nice staff. Food looked good but we didnt eat there. Limited parking and a walk to tbe pub which us at rhe bottom if a short steep hill. Worth rhe hike back up for tge sunshine at sunset though. Great gins.
We had very poor service on the evening we went to the Ship. they were busy, but we didn't get the food we ordered and waited 30 minutes for our dessert order to be taken only to leave without - as did other people near to us. We did speak to the Manager about this. We also went for lunch which was good.
Lovely pub, great views, good outside space. Food was good.
Closed during our stay for a full refurb but looks lovely and location perfect
Still Closed May 2018
It is closed down
This pub has now closed, so we were unable to visit.
Nice local pub, lovely beer garden to sit and watch the boats sail by.
The Ship Inn - Noss Mayo
A pretty waterside pub where children can paddle in the water and yachtsmen tie up their boats outside. Here you can enjoy local beers and fresh homemade food, whilst enjoying the view over the Yealm estuary.

A great place to eat, very friendly and accommodating.
Amazing food, location and service as ever. Always a favourite!
A simply fantastic pub, great food and brilliant and friendly staff. We ate there three times in the week we stayed and they could not have done more for us. We also tried to see how we could install a zip wire from our balcony to the bar!!!! We will certainly be back!!
Fantastic location. Food good. Pleasant waiting staff. Advisable to book in advance. Check times of high water if parking right outside. We saw one car almost float away.
Congratulations to the owners family and staff for providing a wonderful dining experience every evening of our week at a nearby cottage (Toll House) its very rare to have good food, service and a very friendly atmosphere. Well done everyone. Terry & Wendy DODD.
Great location, nice outside space, very good food, excellent service and a good selection of local beer. What more could you want!
Beautiful food, dog friendly and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend
Always have a great meal here and staff very friendly and helpful.
Had a lovely Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve 2018 and they even managed to fit us in early evening without an advance reservation so that was very impressive. My husband had venison which he pronounced a bit chewy. On another occasion we both had fish & chips which were a bit greasy unfortunately. Great atmosphere and location.
Excellent food and good service. Great local beer.
They just get it right, great service, great food perfectly cooked & presented with no pretentious twaddle. Oh & it's consistent, every time we come back the standards are maintained.
We've been going to The Ship Inn for many years now - always great food and friendly, helpful staff. We went five times on this trip!
Would recommend this place, superb food and a fantastic venue. You can walk across the river at low tide, much cheaper then the ferry at £3:50 for 100 metres per person, each way!
We’ve eaten at the Ship many times over the years, and the food has always been excellent, and the location is just gorgeous (but careful where you park when the tide’s coming in!)
Super Sunday lumch...walkable from The Swan in Niss Mayo and also The Dolphin in Bewton Ferrars at low tide. Amaxing rosdt di ners ans fabous burger and chips and fush and chips tremendous. Lovelt staff. Dog friendly.
Beautiful setting very friendly slightly more expensive than your average local but worth it ! Food excellent and just a lovely traditional pub with an idyllic position
Great pub and friendly and accommodating staff. Great to be able to choose small snacks or large meals at any time.
I had a lovely meal of fish beautifully cooked and the staff were very friendly.
Great pub with a wonderful location. Food was lovely, staff super friendly & efficient. Maybe a little bit pricey but well worth it.
Lovely staff and good food
Superb food, views, friendly staff, ambiance wonderful.
Consistently excellent food and friendly staff
We ate here three times in the week we stayed in Noss Mayo. The food was delicious and the portions very generous on each visit. The views from the upstairs dining area are to die for. However, most importantly, we found all the staff charming and efficient despite often being very busy. We look forward to a return visit soon.
Very friendly, good food, good service
Excellent food and service.
Great Pub/Restaurant, we went there four times to eat in our stay. The food was excellent and they had a good selection of beers and wines. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and make the visits a pleasure. Will definitely return next year.
We went to the Ship, 3 times during our 1 week stay in Noss Mayo. What a fabulous place to eat. A great menu, something for everyone and a wonderful atmosphere. They've got the balance right between a good welcoming pub and a great restaurant. Superb
Good pub food with attentive service
Great pub, brilliant location - just watch out for the tide if parking on the beach!
The Dolphin Inn - Newton Ferrers
Updated last year this pub is now a really wonderful place to visit - great menu, good atmosphere and the best place to sit and watch the sun go down! Well done to the team who own/run it they work very hard and it shows!
On a walk to find the local Co-op, and other shops, we stumbled across this pub by accident, as we knew of the Ship Inn, which we could see from our accommodation, and the Swan, which was on our side of the estuary, two minutes from our accommodation, but The Dolphin was our favourite. It had a a competitively priced varied menu, with a pleasant seating area which led down to the waters edge. The second “Voss”, (purpose built crossing) was located just here, so at low tide you could walk across the estuary, which actually would bring you out to the outside seating area of the Swan!. All in all a lovely venue in a beautiful location.
we stayed @ glen cottage for a week, and found the Dolphin very friendly , will definitely visit again when we are in the area.
CLOSED (looks like permanently) during Xmas week 21st to 28th December when we were staying at Mallards.
Closed until further notice
Had a lovely meal at lunchtime - food was amazing!
Lovely food. Super friendlly staff who fed us even though we were quite late in the evening. Dog friendly. No vuew of tbe estuaty from tbe terrace which is a shame because the pub is in an idyllic spot.
Great local pub to end the day with a pint ! Either a walk over the voss when the tide is out or a brief walk round Bridgend
A brilliant pub, fantastic atmosphere day & night. Live music and a great menu - including a great vegetarian selection. The staff were on the ball and service was quick. The chef was able to adapt the menu to suit 'fussy'children. Highly recommended.
Great food and selection of ciders.
Great local pub, very warm welcome, dog friendly and a nice pint.

Fab service, we got our SUP delivered to the harbourmaster and picked it up for a week. It gave us many hours of fun and an opportunity to try something new on the water. Easily delivered back with pick up from owner. Thank you!
We loved the boards and would definitely recommend SwellHunter if you are on holiday in Newton Ferrers, thanks!
As my first time paddle boarding I had such an amazing experience on the river Yealm. I’m totally hooked and will certainly use Swell Hunter again! Maybe we’ll even buy our own.
Great service, we had such a brilliant time on the water, can’t wait to do it again next time we stay.
We had a fantastic time on the PaddleBoards - really made our holiday, Thanks!

Excellent lesson in tough conditions on a windy down a Bigbury, really clear instruction, great place to srat and get in to surfing
Had a great lesson with Discovery Surf. Two hours on the Sedgewell side of Bigbury Beach. All equipment provided, the guys really knew their stuff and we were on our feet in no time. Such a buzz, definitely recommend trying it out if you've not surfed before or want to build up your confidence in the sea.
National Marine Aquarium
The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth is the Nation’s largest aquarium as well as being a charity organisation, and as such has an extremely exciting and prevalent role to play in driving marine conservation. Alongside the tourist attraction they run learning programmes for more than 30,000 children each year, have a consultancy branch and host events from weddings to birthdays and corporate functions as well. While you’re on holiday in South Devon, however, you will be more interested to know that this underwater world of discovery has the largest native exhibition in the UK exploring all the fish you have heard of and rarer varieties as well. In addition to British beauties there’s an Atlantic Ocean tank with large Nurse Sharks, sand tiger sharks and lemon sharks as well as ray and clownfish. The Aquarium has a café on site, is open daily, and has a variety of ticket types available for families, students and senior citizens.

Very expensive to enter and we walked around the entire place in less than an hour.
One of South Devon’s quieter beaches, Mothecombe is a large and unspoiled, privately owned stretch of sand that’s open every day, all year round. Having won an award from the Marine Conservation Society for its clean sea and sand, you can be assured that relaxing here and pottering about in the water is going to be a happy, healthy and pleasant experience for all in this sheltered corner of Devon. For those wanting to try out water sports, Mothecombe offers the ideal conditions for windsurfing, kayaking, body boarding and generally enjoying the water, particularly for beginners as it’s a comparatively gentle environment in which to give it a go. Given its pristine nature, it will probably come as no surprise that dogs are not allowed on the beach in high season, so keep an eye out for signs for more information, but best to steer clear with furry friends from May to September. There is a car park from which you can access the beach down a narrow path, so it’s not ideal for wheelchair users, but is otherwise conveniently close by. There’s also a tea house in the car park for drinks and snacks and there are toilets nearby as well, so pending the tides you can spend a good day here enjoying the natural scenery and all the fun that it brings with it, whether that’s for the whole family, on a romantic afternoon in the summer sun, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of this less populated park of the coastline.

Lovely beach but cafe was being renovated and we were gasping for a cuppa

Nice beach and great walks that lead to it, very few people around in August! Limited parking so you are better off walking there.
Glorious beach at the mouth of the Erme. Narrow lanes and very limited parking. No toilets, cafes etc - wonderful! Turning circle for cars just before the beach but expect to have to reverse back up the access lane to allow cars that are leaving to go back. A nightmare on Bank Holidays - parking almost impossible and expect to have to negotiate very tight spaces.
Lovely beach but bit of a trek for little ones

A lovely beach. £6.50 to park for the day - it's a private estate - but a shame that the owners aren't prepared to put some of the money towards improvements to the toilets - one small sink in each of the men's & women's toilets with a malfunctioning tap is not enough for a beach full of people, children & dogs!
Lovely beach for gentle surfing with ice creams, coffee, snacks and pizzas close to the car park.
Glorious especially at low tide.
Best beach in the South Hams.
Can get busy with surfers, but a beautiful place with a wide sandy beach. Lots of room for everyone.
Beautiful beach. Nightmare of a road (especially in high season) to get to it. Worth it though when you get there.
A short walk (less than a mile) from Thurlestone, this is a stunning beach. Lots of shallow water with sand underfoot, truly amazing.
Fantastic sandy beach and so big. My dog loved running around and jumping into the water. Plenty of space for all.

You can walk to this secluded cove from the cottage. Probably about 20 mins away, depending on your pace. Plenty of blackberries to eat/collect on route when in season! No facilities at the cove but beautifully unspoilt.
Really beautiful secluded beach - great for the dog too!
A lovely beach at the end of a beautiful valley. Absolutely perfect for dogs and never busy.
Parked in the NT car park at Ringmore and took the 15 min walk down to the beach. Saw a beautiful sunset and had the place to ourselves. Bliss
What a fantastic place. So quiet - we had the whole beach to ourselves a lot of the time. Our dogs loved it.
A lovely quiet cove, with excellent rock pools at low tide. No sand but the kids enjoy it as an alternative to the massive sandy beaches at Bigbury and Bantham.
stunning little beach, very quiet and great for snorkelling
Beautiful cove. Very quiet with lots of bird life.
Well worth the walk with beautiful views of Burgh island from the coast path. We were the only ones there on a very sunny day in April. Perfect.
Simply stunning and well worth the steep (ish) walk down from the National Trust car park at Ringmore. When there - it's hard to imagine the horrors of today's modern world.
Gorgeous beach for an evening swim and barbecue. So peaceful and beautiful
