Great garden very quite area love the church bells and great cottages owners welcome gifts was a lovely touch .would stay again
September 2017- We have all thoroughly enjoyed our week's holiday here at Stonecutters Cottage. It's an idyllic setting with well thought out accommodation. Everything you need for a comfortable stay! Our dog particularly enjoyed the huge outdoor space! The wine, flowers, biscuits and milk very much appreciated, as were the dog chews! There is nothing to fault. We wish you continued success with your cottage and if ever we plan to visit the area again in the future we would no doubt stay again, also without doubt recommend this lovely cottage to family and friends. It's reassuring that owners are close by if any concerns (there was none!) A lovely chat to Jackie on the phone when I rang for the key arrangements and a warm welcome from Guy on arrival! THANK YOU!
On arrival there were some welcome treats left for us, a nice bottle of red, chocolate biscuits and treats for our dog. also milk in fridge and coffee and tea supplied which you don't always get in some properties, also fresh flowers were in each room which added a nice homely touch. We had a warm welcome from the owner who lived close by, handy if there were any queries but they left us to enjoy our holiday without being intrusive. One of the many nice aspects of this cottage was the huge, private garden with comfortable outdoor seating in two areas. The garden was a bonus for our dog and there was a bridlepath which you can follow, I would recommend having a walk up on the heathland which was enjoyed by us as well as our dog! The town of Wellington is close by for daily essentials if necessary and the cottage is ideally situated to explore the north Somerset coastline and across to North Devon as well as easy travelling down the the south coast. Sidmouth was a lovely place to visit as was Lyme Regis and further along to Bridport, and of course the great Exmoor national park is close by. We particularly enjoyed the Quantock hills for fabulous views! So, If you're looking for somewhere thats peaceful and comfortable then look no further, Stonecutters cottage is perfect!
The little 'extras' from the owners on arrival were a lovely surprise and very welcome. Although the the cottage is quite small (which may be an issue for 4 adults sharing if they want privacy, as bathroom is off lounge), it was perfectly equipped. The setting of the cottage is absolutely idyllic. It feels as if you are separate from the rest of the world. It almost has a 'secret garden' feel to it. For doggy people the location couldn't be better. Lovely walks through corn fields to the nature reserve are perfect. Our only slight disappointment was that the local pub were not dog friendly which we hadn't realised before arriving at the cottage, but we found plenty of others a short drive away.
Small back cushion on single armchair torn - could do with either repairing or getting rid off as not needed due other cushions on chair. Could have used a fish slice in kitchen especialy when lifting / turning eggs for breakfast. Other than the above, enjoyed our stay. Owners were very warm and kind - very helpful.
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Stonecutters Cottage. We have passed your comments onto the owners who have confirmed that the small cushion has been replaced and there is now a fish slice in place. We very much hope to welcome you back to Stonecutters Cottage soon!

We really enjoyed our stay, as did our dog. Lovely large garden and very peaceful. A delightfully clean and well equipped cottage, great for chilling out but well placed to visit lots of Somerset's interesting places.
We couldn't fault Stonecutter's Cottage in any way. The location is perfect for trips north towards Minehead, west to Exmoor or south to Exmouth, and the owners very welcoming. We also found the Martlet Inn in the village to be ideal for lunch or dinner and would particularly recommend the warm salads!
Brilliant location and excellent property.Owners are brilliant.
Stonecutters Cottage is delightful gem of a cottage in a very central location for touring Somerset and Devon. The cottage is quiet and peaceful and the owners make every effort to make their guests welcome. This was our second visit and we hope to visit again.
The cottage is in a lovely location, and the owners were very nice and helpful. The cottage was very well kept and comfortable. It has a lovely garden which was great for our dog. Next to the cottage is a bridal path which was a great start to a lovely walk across the fields. When we stayed it was not used much, so you did not feel that people were constantly walking past the cottage. I would highly recommend it for stays all year round. It is one of the best cottages we have stayed on ( and we have stayed on a few!)
Wonderful holiday in idylic cotage. The owners manage the property excellently and nothing is too much trouble. The location is great for Somerset,Devon and Dorset.
We had a very enjoyable week .Cottage had everything we needed.
A lovely holiday in good location and lovely cosy cottage. Owners were very helpful without being intrusive.
The accommodation is in a really beautiful village and was convenient for visiting both the Somerset coast (Watchet, Minehead, Dunster etc) and also the Devon coast (Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Seaton etc), but also lovely inland places to visit too (Tiverton, Dulverton and Taunton). Lots on nice walks around the area (bridal path down edge of garden), great for the dog! Had a super time, couldn't ask for more!
Stonecutters Cottage is a first class property and a wonderful base for the South west, i.e. Somerset and Devon
Thus is the second cottage I have booked through Toad Hall and again everything went extremely well. We had a great holiday and are thinking of re-booking next year.
This is a lovely cottage , we really enjoyed our break here . The garden is fantastic for dogs and some good walks . An excellent base for quantocks and ex moor with an excellent standard of furnishings.
Lovely historic cottage, beautifully renovated and well equipped. Totally quiet and private with plenty of parking room and spacious garden, big enough to run and kick a football in. It all feels as if you're in a sunny clearing in a wood. Wonderful country walks all around, good pub 2 minutes walk away. You can't see another building even though you're in the village. Friendly owners Jackie and Guy close by to answer any questions. All lovely and clean.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful break in Somerset. The property has all you might need and more, including a large garden perfect for exercising lively children (we didn't have any but it works just as well for the nearly sixties!) and a warm and friendly welcome from the hosts.
A very warm welcome and a beautiful cottage. Absolutely faultless. Looking forward to returning next year.
Loved the cottage. Spotlessly clean and warm welcome with flowers to greet us. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage and our hosts.
We've had a proper relaxing holiday walking and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The cottage is perfect with everything you need and very homely.
The cottage and garden are lovely, and we had a fantastic week, made all the better by staying in a lovely clean and tidy cottage.
A charming little cottage! Comfortable, well equipped and beautifully situated with a lovely outdoor space, enjoyed equally by both my son and my dog!
