Description

Tamarisk is a wonderful roomy harbour side spacious getaway, set in a highly convenient position right on the water's edge, with superb views of the comings and goings of the bustling harbour.  Looe's abundant amenities with bustling shops, pubs, restaurants and gorgeous sandy beach, are a matter of 5 to 10 minutes leisurely walk away, across the scenic bridge. The owners have just fitted a modern stylish kitchen and taken great care in creating a spacious, relaxing comfortable holiday property, makes it a calm and pleasing environment for a perfect family holiday destination.

Up a private flight of 16 steps from the parking space, leads you to the entrance door and hallway.  Cloakroom on this first level has a WC and wash hand basin.  The Brand New kitchen has a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, electric hob, electric grill and oven.  The dining room has a large modern dining table and seating for 6. The living room has two sofas and one arm chair, electric coal effect fire, large TV with Freeview and DVD player . Master bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed, with en-suite bathroom (no shower). Twin bedroom with two 2ft 6in single beds with en-suite bathroom with shower over.  Further double bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed with en-suite shower room.

A compact newly paved and fenced sunny rear terrace area with patio table and chairs for 6 people. Plus an outside clothes dryer.

A designated parking space for one small to medium car outside the property, along with the properties garage which could take one medium to large car.

  • Included:  Bed linen and towels (guests must bring their own beach towels), electricity and heating.

  • Local Facilities: Beach at East Looe 10 minutes walk. further beach at Hannafore 10 minutes walk, many other south coast beaches are easily accessible by car.  Shops, pubs and restaurants a leisurely walk away.  Polperro 4 miles, Plymouth 21 miles, Fowey 10 miles by road and ferry, Truro 29 miles.  The Eden Project 40 minutes drive.

This is an excellent house and very up together. The owners are so obliging and nothing is too much trouble. We really did enjoy our stay apart from the weather.

This is a beautiful house in a superb location. Having stayed in Looe a few times, I can say this is the nicest place we have rented with the added advantage of a garage - nicely avoiding the impact of the seagulls! The views over the river are gorgeous and the space within the house itself was fantastic for a family of 4 and could easily have accommodated 6. The bedrooms are spacious yet cosy and having a bathroom attached to each is a real bonus. We have previously stayed on the East side where you are in the heart of the town, but we enjoyed this location more, it being only 5 minutes walk into the town and being a little quieter (especially the seagulls in the morning). Altogether a fantastic stay which we hope to repeat.

Best holiday ever. Ideal location - situated on the quieter side of Looe but close enough for town and access to local attractions. Comfortable, well-equipped house and Gill and Nick were very friendly and helpful when we had any questions. We hope to be back next year. Thank you!

A very enjoyable stay. The best thing about this cottage was it's location on the Looe river close to fishing boats and ferries, with great views from front windows. Furnishings were generally good. To have 4 toilets and 3 bathrooms was good, you could always find an empty loo when you needed one. Bathroom fittings were adequate but looked a bit tired. The towel rail didn't work in the ensuite to the main bedroom. Kitchen cooker and equipment were good. The provision of a tumble dryer would be a good idea for drying things when it rains. Overall, a good property.

We are so glad you had a lovely holiday in this super property. The owner has informed us that the towel rail mentioned works off the central heating system, so is only on when the central heating is on.

Yes we enjoyed out stay. Cleanliness on arrival we have put as good but it would have been nice to have had the cobwebs removed from the walls, windows and around the lampshades in the house! It was a very nice touch to have flowers, a bottle of wine, sweets and milk on our arrival. Thank you!

Small areas such behind doors could have with more attention during cleaning.I think this property would benifit greatly from a shower over the bath in the main bedroom otherwise thoroughly enjoyable

Excellent service from initial enquirer to actual holiday

There was a bad leak from the bath in the Master bedroom but we informed the owners and luckily there was another bathroom so we could avoid using it. WIFI in this property would be make the property more appealing to us. The 'welcome pack' was much appreciated! The price has jumped up this year - not sure if this is because Toad Hall are now the agents? This property is in a great location and the owners seem to look after it well, keep it very clean and upgrade as they go along. The bathroom in the second bedroom has been done last year and the shower in it is fabulous! We had a great week - thanks Gill and Nick!

We had a superb holiday, the house is in an excellent position. We like how the house has been altered. We stayed in Tamarisk prior to he improvements ... even better now.
