We had a lovely time and the cottage was beautiful and very homely. It had all we needed
We would definitely recommend the Ship Inn and the Kings Head in Lymington.
We had a lovely stay at the Gatehouse and really enjoyed both the cottage and the location. The cottage was full of all the bits and pieces we could need, especially in the kitchen. We also really enjoyed the entertainment, particularly the DVD selection! The location of the cottage was good, a little noisy with the road and what we think is the neighbour's generator running during the night, but we felt really relaxed throughout our stay.
Amazing holiday home with thoughtful little touches like a box of tissues in the rooms and hand soap in the bathrooms. Tastefully decorated throughout, and furnished for comfort and practicality. Ideal location to go in all directions of the New Forest or slightly further afield to Bournemouth. Enjoyed lots of days out: Paultons Park was great and didn't have huge ride queues even in school holidays. Also enjoyed New Forest Wildlife Park and taking the ferry to Hurst Castle. The children (aged 8 & 14) loved the giant inflatable obstacle course on a lake at the Aqua Park in Fordingbridge. I'd highly recommend the cottage, and the company in general - booking and paying were easy and staff were very helpful.
Excellent accommodation. Would visit again.
I’ve stayed in a few holiday homes before but never one so well-equipped! They really had thought of everything and there were so many nice touches. My mum and I were trying to catch them out by saying “bet there isn’t a ...” but we failed miserably!!! There was a nice bottle of red wine waiting for us, coffee capsules for the machine and an incredibly detailed information folder. We literally had no questions because everything had been covered by the files! The cottage was beautiful and only a few minutes drive from Lymington. On the odd occasion when it stopped raining, my boys were able to play in the garden. I can imagine in the summer, it will be wonderful sitting outside. I really hope to return here as it was perfect! Thank you
Perfect cottage as usual. Our eighth visit to the Gatehouse. Best weather ever. . Forest and particularly the gorse fabulous.
We had an amazing time away the cottage was clean and welcoming with a lovely little garden the only thing missing was a bbq. I would also recommend highcliffe beach for a day out and a beautiful spot for your car to break down (ooops)
The gatehouse was everything it said it was and exceeded our expectations. The ability to be truly self contained by using the gates removed a pre-arrival concern about how we would cope with a two year olds natural tendency to explore. They cottage has been thoughtfully fitted out to a high standard. Its location was right in the middle of everything we wanted to do and we intend to stay again.
Fantastic accommodation, lots of nice touches throughout
Lovely cottage, clean and comfortable
