One of three holiday properties on this site, The Lodge is located in the grounds of a 17th century former manor house at Monkton Wyld, just north of the A35 on the Dorset/Devon border. The pretty West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is about 3.5 miles to the south and the attractive East Devon market town of Axminster, home to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's popular River Cottage shop and restaurant, is about 4.5 miles to the west. Walkers will be drawn to this wonderful location with a wealth of walking countryside, including quiet laneways to Charmouth Woods and the Marshwood Vale right on the doorstep, and access to the beautiful South West Coastal footpath only a few miles away. Those preferring to explore the area by car will find themselves well placed to easily access the many attractions of East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset. In order to take advantage of the lovely countryside views.
The Lodge has been built on the first floor of an attractive barn conversion and has been thoughtfully planned to provide everything you could wish for in a really comfortable holiday property. A spacious bedroom with a king size bed and delightful views is complimented by a comfortable open plan living/dining room with fitted kitchen. Full central heating is included making this a wonderful year round retreat. Set in six acres of grounds, including wild meadows and a small lake (coarse fishing allowed), guests are free to wander and enjoy the abundance of wildlife that is encouraged by the welcoming owner. The Lodge offers all of the comfort and quality that you would expect from a property that has been assessed as 4 star by VisitBritain.

Judy was lovely the cottage was quaint ..just a couple of little niggles
We enjoyed our stay and might rebook for 2018 If a similar property without traffic noise was available, please let us know
Brilliant holiday, lovely place, Judy was excellent.will come again.
This is our second visit and it was as good as the first. The facilities for dogs are excellent and the standard of accommodation lovely, you want for nothing. We found Mrs Sienesi very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We would not hesitate to return next year.
Owner very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay .
Judith was very welcoming. The Lodge is in a wonderful location with beautiful beaches just a short drive away. We had a wonderful week.
A very lovely lady who owns the property. Very helpful and kind. We could fault her at all. She allowed us to use her her grandsons bed during our stay because our little boy (2.5yrs) has great bed escaping skills while he sleeps.
Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The property was easy to find and the welcome warm on our arrival. The dog areas were fantastic, the best we have been to. The accommodation was very comfortable with the bonus of free laundry facilities. We would not hesitate to come back.
the Lodge was lovely and warm. Judith the owner was always on hand if we needed anything and very helpful with directions and recommended lovely places to eat. It was our first visit to Dorset and it will not be our last as we enjoyed our walks with our dog on the beaches and we also found some fossils doing so. Beautiful place
