Tolcarne Cottage is a gorgeous, hundred year old Newquay property which has recently been sympathetically and very tastefully refurbished throughout.

Less than 200 metres (couple of minutes walk) from the seafront and beaches in Newquay, this lovely holiday home is the perfect base for a family or two couples wanting space, high quality and comfy surroundings and so close to the beach and town centre amenities.

Tolcarne beach is the nearest beach and has a variety of events running throughout the year as well as terrific restaurant and beach shop etc. 

Apart from the breathtaking beaches Newquay has to offer, an abundance of things to do are right on your doorstep at Tolcarne Cottage. A short walk will take you down to the Trenance leisure park with cafe's, tennis courts, miniature railway, crazy golf, play parks and Leisure World where you will find indoor pool with flumes, fitness studios and gym. Newquay Zoo and Wildlife Park is also located here and is well worth a visit.  A little further on from the Trenance Park you will wander through rather lovely gardens and down towards the boating lake where you can hire a pedalo and feed the ducks. 

Newquay town has all manner of shops and amenities to keep you amused including the 4 screen Lighthouse Cinema, an array of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as surf board and wet suite hire outlets. 

Being on the north coast of Cornwall the rugged beauty of the beaches and coastline here really is breathtaking so do take some time out of your holiday to explore the wonderful coastline.

Entrance

Four steps lead up from the parking at the front into a beautifully presented hallway with hooks for coats and space for sandy shoes. A handy WC with wash hand basin is off the hallway. 

Living room

Off the hallway to the front is a lovely living room with comfy sofas and SMART TV.

Kitchen/Diner

A beautifully presented kitchen with separate dining area has French doors leading out onto the enclosed patio at the rear.

Kitchen appliances include electric hob, electric double oven with grill, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. 

Stairs

Carpeted stairs with quality, bespoke joinery made stair-gates to the top and bottom leading up to the bedrooms and bathroom.

Family bathroom WC

A fabulous bathroom has been created providing a large bath, separate shower cubicle with fixed rain-head and handheld shower attachment, wash basin and heated towel rail. 

Bedroom 1

Located at the front of the property with King size bed.  SMART wall mounted TV. 

Bedroom 2

Located at the rear, a versatile zip and link bed has been provided creating either a twin or super king size double.

Bedroom 3

Located at the front of the property, custom-made, sturdy 3 ft bunks. 

All bedrooms are carpeted with ample hanging and drawer space provided across the bedrooms. 

Heating

This property is gas centrally heated. 

The owners are in the final stages of creating a fully enclosed, good sized patio area with furniture.  Photographs to follow.

There will also be a rotary washing line provided as well as storage shed for boards and bikes. 

The busy and popular seaside resort of Newquay is ideally placed to visit some of the best beaches in Cornwall, including Watergate, Crantock and the iconic Fistral beach - one of the most consistent surfing beaches in the UK.

Popular among families, groups of friends, and surfers, Newquay is also renowned for its wide choice of pubs and restaurants and major attractions. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Maritime Museum, Trerice House with its magnificent gardens, and many more fantastic day trips are all within easy striking distance of the town. Whilst there is a plentitude of accessible activities in and around Newquay to keep everyone in your party happy, from surfing and kite surfing to a spot of golf at one of the area's golf courses.

Newquay is also perfectly located for enjoying a gastronomic experience at Jamie Oliver's famous 15 restaurant, situated in the stunning Watergate Bay. The beach is also often host to surf championships and Veuve Cliquot Beach Polo in September, so if you time your visit right you could be treated to a spectacular display.

Newquay offers a vibrant base for a fun group holiday with family or friends, with everything you need to make your holiday memorable right on your doorstep.

Atlantis - Newquay Fishing Trips

On a 32ft offshore charter vessel called The Atlantis, this Newquay based company offers fishing trips on the beautiful Cornish coast.  Aboard you will find a large wheelhouse and comfy seating area as well as tea and coffee facilities, cold drinks and a toilet.    Licensed for 12 passengers at a time, they also have a second boat if you’re looking to bring a larger group, and staff are extremely accommodating.  They offer a variety of trips from a two-hour mackerel bash to a sunset session, shark fishing, fishing and jet skiing, and a full day exploring the local reefs and wrecks.

Newquay Zoo

In 13 acres, Newquay Zoo is an opportunity to meet more than 130 different species from around the world, explore different exhibits and habitats, learn, and support conservation projects.  There’s a Kids Zone and games, and a number of cafes and restaurants providing ethically sourced food, as well as space for picnics throughout the park.  You can visit at any time of the year, and tickets start at £13.60 for adults, but do remember that it’s one of the largest, not-for-profit charities in Cornwall, with all money going directly back into the zoo and its conservation projects.

Blue Reef Aquarium

Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay is a wonderful attraction for families, particularly on rainy days.  Dedicated to education, conservation and the creatures it holds dear, they have over 40 naturally themed habitats which take you on a journey from the Cornish waters to exotic seas and bring you face to face with freshwater turtles, jellyfish and puffer fish.  A favourite feature is the aquarium’s ocean tank, where an underwater tunnel offers magical views of the giant Loggerhead turtle, reef sharks and shoals of colourful fish as well.  Parking is available on St Georges Road Car Park (TR7 1JS) or Manor Road Car Park (TR7 1RA) .
