We love Trethenal Cottage and have stayed twice previously. We were very sorry to hear it will probably not be let in future. We would like to send extra special thanks to Jonathan who has always been so helpful, friendly and kind and has made our holidays at Trethenal even more enjoyable.
A fantastic stay in the really beautiful tiny cottage, perfect for two and a small dog. Very comfy bed and lounge. Everything you could need in the kitchen. Good shower. Loved the natural garden and the view. Great walk to Portloe down through the fields.
Our cottage was excellent aprt from the fact my disabled wife found the stairs with no handrail very difficult.Especially at night as the toilet is downstairs.Otherwise a super cottage with lovely walks nearby.
Just returned from a fabulous week at Trenthenal cottage. We got lucky with the weather but even had it been wet, we would have been really happy relaxing in the cottage. Works really well for 2 people 1 dog. Nice, decent sized bed, heating worked well, nice TV and everything you needed really. Kitchen and bathroom were both really good and (as a gas-user usually) even the electric cooker surprised me with how well it worked. Place was well-kitted out but (as posted by previous review), might have been useful to include full itinerary of equipment in kitchen. Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a bit of peace and quiet and to get away from it all.
Information about what is provided is important at a detailed level: cooking facilities, soap, towels, provisions (salt pepper, oil). Needs to go in welcome letter.
Found the Cottage comfortable and cosy. Caretaker was very informative and helped us settle in very quickly.
Lovely cottage, great location, very relaxing holiday.
Excellent location with a beautiful sea and landscape view, ideal cottage if you are taking a pet due to the excellent garden. Also location of cottage makes it an ideal place for day trips out.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The caretaker was most helpful. It would have been a help if there was a folder giving recommendations of places to eat and shop. We found the Londis store at the Esso garage on the main road very good for a small local store.
The views from the upstairs bedroom windows were fantastic! Could lie in bed and see the sea in one direction and watch the bunnies in the field the other way.
The cottage was a lovely little place. Our 4 month old puppy loved it and so did we. We had a great week. The caretaker was very friendly and helpful.
We loved it had a lovely holiday in a perfect cottage our dog loved it too it was home from home
Lovely cosy cottage, very well equipped, and the most comfortable bed!!! Wonderful sunny garden, was great for us and our dog. Only a 10/15 minute walk to Portloe where there are a couple of places to eat. Great holiday.
