Description

Tritchayne Farm Cottages are a superbly presented group of cottages, ideally suited for a large family occasion or special celebration.  Set  in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, near to the beautiful East Devon village of Colyton, these lovely holiday homes offer flexible accommodation for a large group seeking a unique venue and provides a fabulous base from which to enjoy this stunning location any time of year.  The addition of the Glass House with its generous deck area and attractive grounds can provide a group with a flexible entertainment centre for eating and meeting together.  Set to a backdrop of attractive grounds whilst giving a variety of accomodation to meet the needs of guests with added comfort, privacy and personal touches.  The owner, Jane is a wonderful host and is on hand to assist guests with additional help that might be required during their stay.

There is also plenty of seating in the courtyard along with access to the garden and pond area where you will find additional seating in a relaxing and peaceful setting.  The position makes it an ideal holiday base for exploring both Devon, Dorset and the famous Jurassic Coast.  You will also find plenty of delightful local walks and bridleways on the doorstep too.  Please see TFBULL, TFCALF, TFDAIR, TFBARNTFLOFT

The whole of the Jurassic Coast (including Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth), now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only about 15 minutes away by car.  The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area.  For those that enjoy a culinary treat, celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage shop and restaurant is a short drive away in the East Devon market town of Axminster.

The Bull Pen -sleeps 3
Entrance hall. 3 steps up to Open plan design.  Kitchen with electric double oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, electric clothes airer. Lounge/dining room with Flatscreen TV/DVD, i-dockMP3, sofa, armchairs, dining table and wood burner. 3 steps down to Bedroom 1 with double bed and luxury single sofabed (2ft 6inch mattress) . Family bathroom with deep bath for two people, heated chrome towel rail and seperate shower, wash hand basin and W.C.

The Calf Pen -sleeps 4
Self-contained ground floor apartment. Open plan living area with sofa, woodburner, TV/DVD, i-docMP3 and dining table seating four.  Kitchen with electric hob and double oven, fridge/freeezer, microwave, slimline dishwasher, washing machine and electric drying rack.  Bedroom 1 with double bed and Bedroom 2 with zip link twin beds 2’ 6’’ which can be converted to a King size if required (please request when booking). Bathroom: with a shower over bath, basin and W.C.  Outside: courtyard with bistro table for two.  

The Old Dairy -sleeps 4
Entrance hall with seating area and storage cupboard.  Lounge/dining room with TV/DVD, i-dockMP3, sofa, dining table and wood burner. Kitchen with electric double oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, electric clothes airer.  Bathroom: with shower over bath, wash hand basin and W.C. Shower Room: with wash hand basin and W.C. Bedroom 1 with double bed.  Bedroom 2 with twin beds.  

The Hayloft - sleeps 2
Ground floor: entrance with seating area and access to the Bathroom with shower over bath, W.C. and handbasin. Storage cupboards for walking gear. Stairs leading to First floor: Lounge/dining room with TV/DVD, i-dockMP3, dining table seating two, sofa and woodburner.  Studio style kitchen with electric convector oven/grill/microwave, double hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and electric drying rack. Bedroom with a double bed and is part of the clever open plan design.

Patio areas with every property, picnic benches, garden furniture, bistro tables, chairs and BBQ's available.  Additional seating in the main courtyard with long benches and tables.  Seating in the garden and near the pond with an additional field for dog walking.  The addition of the Glass House with its generous deck area and attractive grounds can provide a group with a flexible entertainment centre for eating and meeting together.  

Parking: Ample parking for up to 10 cars on the private drive.

The grounds around Calf Pen were exceptional and the meadow beyond was great for our dog to exercise. The lady who owns Tritchayne Cottages puts so much detail into each cottage - it is like home from home. The only 'minus' would be the one track road leading to the cottages for anyone who is a bit nervous driving.

The accommodation was absolutely superb. The garden and surrounding amenities were way beyond our expectations. And Jane the owner was lovely she makes the place a real home from home and you have the surrounding countryside as an added bonus . Our best holiday so far in that lovely county. We will be back.

Our stay here couldn't have been better, the cottage was beautiful, Colyton (just down the road) is a delightful little village, we ate at the garden centre and the kingfisher pub- both were fab and everyone was so friendly. The enclosed field, at the cottages, for the dog to run around in was great. We only stayed for a weekend and packed a lot in but i'd love to stay there again for a week. Fabulous welcome pack of wine, eggs, bread and milk was a lovely -Big thank you to Toad Hall cottages.

We all loved it, everyone was happy with their accomodation, The new greenhouse is a fabulous place to socialise, I could quite happily live there. The only comment we made was that it's a shame it wasn't closer or walking distance to the sea, but that apart we really enjoyed our stay so much so we are considering it for next year

This is a very well presented group of cottages, the courtyard feel giving it a mini village character. The addition of the heated well equipped group dining greenhouse truly finishing this facility off as a very comfortable large family or group location. Jane the owner is so attentive, friendly and helpful and has clearly planned the layout and holiday needs very thoroughly. We were so impressed each cottage and the additional greenhouse individualy fully equipped to a high standard. Located only 20 mins walking distance from Colyton and a short drive from a number of coastal resorts it is ideal for a group or individual holiday rental. A first class experience we so enjoyed ourselves.
