Description

Andromeda, situated on a quiet residential street in Chillington in the South Hams has all the attributes a couple, family or group need for their holiday. The light and spacious house all on one level is neat and comfortable, comes with private parking and has an enclosed garden which is safe for children and dogs. The contemporary property is just a short drive to the simply stunning Slapton Sands beach and nature reserve, and is within easy walking distance to the village shop and friendly pub. Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Totnes and Dartmouth which are all well worth a visit, whether for sandy beaches, historic buildings, boutique shops or farmers markets are also all easily accessible.

Please note access to both the front and rear of the property is via 4 steps.

Steps up to entrance leading to Living room with two 3 seater sofas, TV (with BT vision with recording facility), DVD player, dining table to seat 6, access to rear decking. Kitchen with electric cooker and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher. Bedroom 1 with 4ft 6in double bed. Bedroom 2with twin beds. Bedroom 3 with bunk beds. Family wet room with WC, basin, overhead shower and underfloor heating. Utility area through porch with WC, sink and washing machine. The porch can also be used as an entrance and is great place for storing bicycles, golf clubs or wellies.

Rear decking area with table and chairs and rural views. Steps down to enclosed garden.

For one car in private drive. Ample additional no restriction parking on surrounding roads.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely property. It was light and bright with lovely furnishings. It was very clean and fresh on arrival. The open plan dining and sitting area was very comfortable. The garden was enclosed and ideal for dogs. There was a decking with steps leading down to the garden. A very handy utility room. There was also a porch from the front door where we were able to take off shoes and coats and clean dogs. The area was very quiet and peaceful and the village was pretty and ideal for exploring the surrounding area. It had a good pub and very handy village shop and post office with a good selection of groceries. We would have no hesitation in staying at this home in the future.

This was a lovely well equipped cottage , warm and comfortable with a garden ideal for dogs. Only one minor potential improvement, the double bed could be wider !

Inside, Andromeda was lovely & welcoming. First impressions were very good - heating was put on & it was clean & tidy. Furniture & carpets were a good standard & main bedroom was very cosy (master bed was comfortable). Immediate surroundings were very quiet & most welcome, and it was good to have an enclosed garden for our dog. Great that it had a good village pub within walking distance & lovely beaches just a short drive away. Location was superb for us. Overall, it was a hassle free booking procedure with Toad Hall & great accommodation, seems like the owners aim to please & hopefully they'll continue to keep to the same standards - wouldn't have any hesitation to book there again. Bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch & much appreciated. Development areas - 1) Outside of property needs attention. 2) Kitchen worktops had crumbs on i.e. behind toaster & corners & in addition, it looked like someone had just grouted the tiles as there was what looked like white pieces of grout on the worktops. 3) Surprised to be asked to strip bedding before departure - this was a break/holiday & personally feel this is the job for the cleaners (is this not included in the price?)

Our first experience with Toad Hall Cottages and we were not disappointed. Andromeda is a bright, well furnished home away from home. Great central location to lots of fantastic walks, beaches and amenities just a short drive away. Garden was great for our dog too. Only thing to have improved our stay would be the under floor heating to have been working for the wet room.
