This light and airy south facing cottage is located in the little hamlet of St Anne’s Chapel, a couple of miles from the sandy beaches of Bigbury on Sea in South Devon. Originally two cottages it provides plenty of comfortable living space with a sunny patio and garden overlooking fields with views of the sea in the distance. Presented in a fresh contemporary style it has a spacious sitting room with woodburner set in an Inglenook fireplace. The cottage is ideally located on the crossroads of the main artery road to the coast and provides a perfect base for exploring the picturesque South Hams and there are plenty of invigorating and spectacular walks along the nearby South West coastal path or the pretty Avon estuary, both under 15 minutes walk away. As an added convenience an excellent village shop with an exceptional range of products, including an olive bar and wide selection of cheeses, is just a few yards away from the cottage. The cottage was lovely and spacious and good value for money. Shame the second log burner has not been connected.
Many thanks for your feedback, we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately there is no flue in the second room so the stove is for decoration only and not advertised. However the owner may consider installing a flue in the future. We look forward to welcoming you back. From the Toad Hall Team.

Overall this is a quaint traditional cottage providing more than adequate living acomodation for a party of 8. However, as this is the 3rd Toad Hall Cottage we have stayed in this cottage and its facilities appear to lack the personal touches and TLC of previous accomodation. For example no cleaning products were provided, general cleanliness on arrival disapointing (oven was dirty and there was dirt under rug.) While the cottage affords easy access to excellent beaches and walks and amenities ie the local shop and pub. The downside of the location being situated on a busy junction with speeding passing trafic throughout the day and night. May we sugest this is highlighted in the description. The outside garden was lovely and the decking is a real suntrap. The bathroom facilities were excellent for the size of the party. All things considered we had an enjoyable holiday, but feel these suggestions are important.
Significant improvements have been made this winter, including the addition of sturdy wooden bunk beds, a Smart TV and Blu-ray player and a new thorough caretaking company appointed to ensure the cottage is always well presented and well equipped for 2018.

With regard to the location of the property, the property is focussed towards the "field side" of the property, and the double glazing and thick stone walls serve as an effective barrier from the country lane passing it. Its an ideal and handy location, close to the superb pub, great village shop and only a 5 minutes drive to the beach so whilst it may not suit those looking for a secluded retreat in the high season Little Coombe provides a great family holiday home in the hub of the village.

We really liked the character of the cottage and the location was great, the very nice pub opposite and the handy shop were a real bonus even though normally I wouldn't have chosen to be as close.
Our third time at Little Coombe, really enjoy, cottage well equipped, the shop is very useful being right next door, and well stocked. Cannot think of anything that wasn't good!
The book about Devon for children and recommendations of beaches were very helpful.
Thank you for your feedback, which we have passed to the owner and caretaker & hope that you enjoyed your stay in Devon. From the Toad Hall Team

We had a wonderful holiday at Little Coombe. It's in a fantastic location - near to beaches, a golf course, good walks and a stone's throw from a lovely village shop and pub. Perfect.
This was our first use of Toad Hall Cottages and found the staff very helpful and friendly . Cottage was very clean and well furnished
A really lovely, homely cottage. So near to the beach, a great shop and pub across the road.
My name is William Shaw and myself and my friends have just recently been staying at Little Coombe. On behalf of everyone who stayed I would just like to say a huge Thank You! We had a great time, loved the cottage and the position it was in and will no doubt come back at some point in the future! Thank you very much again. Will.
There is a lovely view and we would live here permanently if we could. We discovered the village shop over the road and it's amazing – it puts our village shop to shame.
Lovely holiday – lots of good walks for the dogs and the WiFi excellent extra bonus. Excellent food at the local pub, we would come back to the cottage again
We had a lovely week here and the weather could not have been better. The garden was fantastic and had the sun on it most of the day. We loved the beaches nearby. We would undoubtedly come back to Little Coombe and to Bigbury
Perfect spot for family with dogs (except access around back of garage/shed direct onto road. Lovely house and gardens for summer eveings Great accessibility to local shop and pub - literally yards away, just across the roads. Would go back again in a heartbeat.
