Marden is a comfortable and contemporary house situated on a residential street at the top of the hill in Salcombe. The four bedroom semi-detached property has recently been refurbished to a high standard and comes with the benefit of private parking which makes for easy trips to the nearby sandy beaches and local attractions. The bustling and vibrant town centre at the bottom of the hill is where you can go to enjoy the wide range of pubs, restaurants, art galleries and shops, or indulge in one of the famous local ice creams. No Salcombe holiday would be complete without spending some quality time on the water and with space at the property for storing a boat trailer, it means that Marden is the perfect base for the boat lovers amongst you. The well equipped property has a fantastic newly landscaped garden, which is very unique thanks to the use of railway sleepers. It provides a great spot for catching some sun or for al fresco dining. The master bedroom, with adjacent bathroom, has great views over the rooftops towards the estuary and surrounding countryside.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Even though it was difficult to access from the town as it was a steep hill, we knew about that before we went so it wasn't a surprise or disappointment. The incredible views, particularly from the upstairs bedroom made it worthwhile, and we were lucky to have experienced some wonderful sunrises from there. The house was very well equipped and there was plenty of room for us and the dogs. We enjoyed walking and found many local walks on the South Devon AONB website which I would advise people to use sons there are downloads of information at points along the routes to enhance your experiences. Our favourite spot to eat was the Winking Prawn at North Sands, and a good find was the Walkers Hut at East Soar which provided welcome drinks and snacks on walks around the area.
