Description

Marden is a comfortable and contemporary house situated on a residential street at the top of the hill in Salcombe. The four bedroom semi-detached property has recently been refurbished to a high standard and comes with the benefit of private parking which makes for easy trips to the nearby sandy beaches and local attractions. The bustling and vibrant town centre at the bottom of the hill is where you can go to enjoy the wide range of pubs, restaurants, art galleries and shops, or indulge in one of the famous local ice creams. No Salcombe holiday would be complete without spending some quality time on the water and with space at the property for storing a boat trailer, it means that Marden is the perfect base for the boat lovers amongst you. The well equipped property has a fantastic newly landscaped garden, which is very unique thanks to the use of railway sleepers. It provides a great spot for catching some sun or for al fresco dining. The master bedroom, with adjacent bathroom, has great views over the rooftops towards the estuary and surrounding countryside.

Steps up to entrance leading to hall. Living room with two 3 seater sofas, TV, feature fireplace (not useable). High spec Kitchen diner with gas range cooker, dining table to seat 8, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, Ipod dock and access to outdoor area. Cloakroom with WC and basin under stairs. Stairs up to bedroom 2 with 3ft twin beds (ziplink beds that can form superking bed on request). Bedroom 3 with 4ft 6in double bed. Bedroom 4 with 3ft bunk beds. Family shower room with WC, basin and shower. Stairs up to second floor to master bedroom with king bed, 2 seater sofa, estuary views. Adjacent bathroom with WC, basin and roll top bath.

Outdoor area with garden table and chairs. Steps up to higher level area and access to garage side entrance.

Parking for 1 or 2 cars depending on size in private garage (parking area width approx 3.5m, garage door height 2.1m). Garage is accessed from a private lane off the road. Large gates also open onto higher level outdoor area which can be used to store a boat trailer. Ample on street parking nearby (No parking restrictions).

  • Included: Bed linen, hand towels, (No bath towels except for overseas visitors). Gas central heating, electricity, Cot, high chair and two stair gates.
  • Telephone: Local outgoing, incoming and emergency only. Mobile signal good. Wi-Fi.
  • Pets: Dog welcome. (Pet charge £25.00 per week).
  • Local facilities: Spar shop 200 yards. Beaches within 1 mile. Pub 600 yards. Kingsbridge with all facilities 6 miles.

June 2017

The house and facilities were excellent overall and we were very pleased. We pointed out during the holiday that the introductions and instructions book was missing but this was followed up by a visit from the cleaning supervisor who tried to locate the book. We eventually found the book as we were about to leave as it became necessary to go into the garage to get the car out. The book had been left in the garage presumably by the previous occupants. They could have had the book in there to help them understand how to open the garage door as this was very difficult to manage. It needed two people and even then it was a struggle. Toad Hall are aware of the issues we had with the refuse and recycling bins and the fact that these were both full almost to overflowing during our stay.

We are pleased to see you enjoyed your stay at the property and thank you for the useful feedback. We have since visited the property to remove any excess rubbish and enhance the waste disposal instructions so this does not occur again. We will pass on your comments regarding the garage door to the owner so it can be looked into.
