The Old Cider Press is a stunning conversion which has transformed a former cider press farm building into very stylish holiday accommodation.  Recently completed by the owners and lovingly refurbished to provide a high quality, spacious property in a lovely East Devon setting.  The pretty village of Colyford, located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is about a mile and a half from the seafront at Seaton and the pretty harbour at Axmouth and only a short drive from the magnificent Jurassic coast of West Dorset.  The village includes a small grocery store, an excellent butchers, a cycle shop and cafe. There are also a couple of traditional pubs, both serving food.  This attractive stone cottage has been sympathetically restored, retaining much of the character of the original building. The recent conversion means the cottage benefits from the added comforts of pristine new bathrooms as well as a lovely fitted kitchen, outdoor patio with seating and a BBQ.  With the addition of a Woodburner, makes this a great choice for out-of-season breaks too.  The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking and the beautiful coast, famous for its fossil beaches is just 5 miles away.

A short drive away are the popular coastal towns of Seaton, Beer, Charmouth, Lyme Regis and West Bay.  The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area. The whole of the Jurassic Coast, now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only 15 minutes away by car with its sandy beach and seafront promenade.  The town includes celebrity chef Mark Hix's superb Oyster and Fish Restaurant, along with many other restaurants, cafes, pubs and tearooms. For those that enjoy a culinary treat, celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage shop and restaurant are also only a short drive away in the East Devon market town of Axminster. For nature lovers, a few minutes walk away is an entrance to the Axe Estuary Wetlands Nature Reserve featuring many hides and viewing platforms and walkers will also be spoilt for choice with many wonderful inland footpaths within easy reach.

Private patio area with outdoor dining furniture at the rear of the property.  Webber BBQ available in communal garden, which can be relocated to the property on request.

Off-road parking for multiple cars at the rear of the property with private gates and driveway.  Electric car charging point is now available onsite.

Such a beautiful, clean, spacious and well appointed property, especially as it accepts dogs. We really couldn’t fault it. Choice of two pubs, a cafe, a village store all within walking distance. Excellent WiFi and tv service. Really comfortable beds and sofas. Owners were friendly and helpful. Deserves more than 5 stars!

As soon as we arrived we got a great, warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble from the owners who live next door. They had loads of great advice about walks, places to eat etc and were very happy to run through the operation of any of the equipment that was in the cottage. The facilities were excellent with a glorious kitchen, lovely double sided log burner and very comfy sofas facing a very good smart tv. All of the bedrooms were decorated to a very high standard with furnishings to match...lovely bathrooms. Could not fault a thing. Looking forward to going back.

This was the loveliest holiday home we have ever had the pleasure of staying in, beautifully furnished, impeccably clean and every last detail had been thought of.... the owners were lovely, very attentive and thoughtful and couldn’t do enough to make our stay as fabulous as it was! We all felt very much at home in the house and Would gladly have stayed on!!! The house has a lovely feel to it and we were sad to say goodbye! Thank you for a lovely holiday!
