This delightful holiday home is situated on the outskirts of the pretty market town of Kingsbridge in South Devon which is located at the head of the beautiful Salcombe estuary. Extensively refurbished and tastefully presented Bralo offers the discerning guest everything required for a relaxing and pleasant stay. Leave the car in the garage and walk down to the bustling quayside and sample some of the local inns, restaurants and cafés dotted throughout the town. All the fantastic golden South Hams beaches are within easy driving distance and there are plenty of stunning walks to enjoy throughout the area. The house itself has a light and airy living room with a woodburner stove and patio doors that open onto a decked verandah running along the front of the house, shaded by an ancient yew tree and offering views of the surrounding countryside. There are four spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms and a master en-suite and outside there is a secluded garden with a couple of patios designed to catch the morning and evening sun. Kingsbridge is an ideal base from which to explore the picturesque South Hams, but Cornwall and the spectacular North Devon coast are also easily accessible.
Please note: The steps on the short path leading to the front door are a little steep in places and may not be suitable for the elderly or infirm.
A path leads up to the front door and small porch with space for coats and wellies. Large windows along the front of the house flood the living and dining area with light. Lounge area with two leather sofas, a fun bean bag, woodburner stove set in a feature Tavistock stone fireplace, large flat screen TV, DVD, Nintendo Wii games console, internet and DAB radio with iPod dock and MP3 connection and portable radio/CD. Sliding patio doors to verandah. Dining area with oak table and sideboard and seating for 8. Modern kitchen with range cooker having double ovens, grill, warming oven, 5 burners and griddle, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Door to rear garden. Passageway leads to two twin bedrooms. Large twin bedroom with two 3ft beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and patio doors to rear garden. Second twin bedroom with two 3ft beds and wardrobe. Downstairs wet room with shower, hand basin and WC. Stairs to first floor. Spacious family bathroom with stand alone bath, hand basin and WC. Generous double bedroom with 5ft bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and TV/DVD. Large master bedroom with 5ft bed, wardrobe, dressing table, leather armchair and TV/DVD. En-suiteshower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.
Covered verandah off the sitting room overlooking the front garden and morning patio. Steps down to garage entrance. Private rear garden with lawn, established shrubs and evening patio with garden table and chairs and coal barbecue.
Garage parking for up to one large car. Additional off road parking generally available within easy walking distance.

We have stayed here before and been very happy with it. However, some of the equipment is a little tired now - the metal baking trays are in a dreadful state with the non stick peeling and the wok was rusty and in a poor state. There are not enough vegetable knives, so this needs updating . One of the toaster slots doesn't work, the element has gone. Was disappointed with the standard of cleaning in that I had to wash the frying pans and some of the crockery before I could use it, there were food stains and dried up food on the pans and trying pans. I paid for an additional clean on the Monday with a bed change, but it wasn't done to a high standard. The bed change was fine as were the bathrooms, but the kitchen wasn't properly cleaned, it looked like it had a quick lick not a clean, they didn't move anything off the work surfaces such as the bread bin to flea behind etc. Shame, as previously it's been brilliant.
We are pleased you enjoyed another stay at Bralo. We have inspected the toaster and it is working correctly. In order to save energy it has a setting on it where you can select the number of slots that are in use at any given time. With regards to the kitchen equipment and cleanliness, we will pass these comments onto the helpful owners who will look to rectify this as soon as possible.

This was our second time at Bralo and we were delighted again by its comfortable and spacious feel and excellent position.
We are a family of three generations and everyone enjoyed the holiday. The house was excellent with lots of space for everyone and plenty of activities. We could easily have stayed another week! The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware The cleaning company had done a first rate job as everything was immaculate. We would have no hesitation in recommending your company.
We had a short stay at Bralo as attending a wedding at Buckland Tout Saints hotel which is a couple of miles away. The house is wonderful - clean, spacious, very well equipped and child friendly.
We used this cottage as our family base prior to and after our daughters wedding at Buckland Tout Saints. It was everything we hoped for perfect and more a real family home feel to it.
Barlo is a beautiful house in an amazing setting! Excellent furnishings and lots of thoughtful extras- planning to return next year!
