The weather was cold for June, but the heating had been turned off during May The downstairs bedrooms all had cold beds which felt damp and hence most uncomfortable. The building has one wall which is below ground and this is possibly the cause of the dampness.
We had a wonderful holiday. We put few suggestions in comment book to make better still! Non slip bath mat for young children, some plastic crockery and cups and if possible blackout blinds in couple of rooms. Very impressed with quality of fittings and furnishings.
Many thanks for your feedback which we will pass to the owner. Incidentally, there are actually a few plastic plates and mugs already in the barn. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and this beautiful property and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. From the Toad Hall Team.

We had a wonderful week , the property is lovely and we particularly enjoyed the garden and the beautiful area it’s in.
Fantastic stay. Very well equipped and spacious accommodation. Beds really comfy. We would love to stay again.
The most beautiful property, really well equipped and furnished to an excellent standard. We could not find a single fault with the property or location. Amazing location with views of the sea across the hills. Lovely walks from the door to the village pub, and across the fields to the beach. More than enough space for a family of 11, would love to come back for a summertime visit. Thank you!
Thoroughly enjoyable stay. The property met all our expectations and more. A lovely place and part of the country to visit
Well Recommended Stay Beautiful Converted Barn Lovely Gardens and surrounding Area Short Walk Or Drive to Stunning Wonwell Beach and Village of Kingson Excellent Pub and Welcoming Church can’t wait to revisit next Year.
We had a brilliant family trip to Wild Goose Barn with our 1 & 3 year old and family friends. Such a relaxing location and the accommodation is so well laid out and thought through everyone had space but could come together as a larger group as well. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed and the beds were super comfy with a great snug TV room for relaxing. Wish we could have stayed longer and can't wait to go back next year!
Fantastic holiday. Would use again.
A beautifully presented holiday home with attention to detail, welcome tray & excellent broadband. Highly recommend The Riverford Kitchen for Sunday lunch.
Absolutely excellent on all fronts. Perfect for us. We will be recommending to our friends and hope to come with the family as well.
Immensely. If it is available for the same week next year, we have already asked if we can book it. We understand that new contracts will be drawn up in September, so look forward to hearing from you then.
We had a wonderful time at Wild Goose Barn with friends and family. It is a beautiful, well appointed home in a fantastic location finished to the highest standard. Access to beautiful countryside and coastline it is a real find. Thank you.
We had a great time
The house was very comfortable with enough space inside and out that it didn’t feel crowded. The table tennis table was a real hit.
We loved our stay in this beautiful property and Toad Halls customer service was excellent as always xx
Wild Goose Barn made this one of the most enjoyable Christmas weeks I can remember. The owners had added a 9 foot Christmas tree which stood majestically in the vaulted main living room. The 2 log burners made us all feel warm and festive too. The well equipped spacious kitchen allowed us all to enjoy preparing the Christmas meals. I stayed in Buttercup in the Creamery wing and loved it. We all remarked how comfortable the beds are, with quality mattresses, luxurious duvets and linen. My grandson even said the family bathroom felt like a spa! This barn is one of those special places where it just doesn't matter if it is raining and we had the full size table tennis table that was a source of much fun too. A perfect place to relax and unwind with so much spaces for all. I so look forward to returning and being with my large family again.
What an incredible property! The sea view is a real bonus too.
Trips to the local beach and BBQs in the sun were enjoyed by all of us. Love the King sized very comfy beds. Kids loved the amount of space to play hide and seek and all the entertainment offered for any rainy days. Will definitely be recommending for friends and family who want a relaxing and remote location. Hope to be back soon.
A very relaxing and spacious house perfect for our three generation holiday.
Lovely house, great location. We found the beds really comfy and all the towels and bed linen were a high standard. The kids loved the space.
One of our happiest family holidays, what a fabulous place, we loved it.
A really lovely barn in a beautiful location! The barn had everything we needed and more, we couldn't have found a nicer place to stay for our little holiday break. The village down the road is also really pretty and there are a number of fantastics walks down to the sea that you can do right from the barn. The coastline is also stunning and you're so close to a number of great beaches. Wish we could've stayed for longer. Looking forward to coming back!
We had a fantastic time staying here. The house was really well presented with so much space and the gardens were beautifully kept. The position was quiet and the views stunning. There were lots of lovely walks you can do from the Barn, either to the sea or pub! The beaches around here are some of the best in Devon with lots of picturesque villages near like Newton Ferrers, where we had a great lunch by the river. We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful week's holiday at Wild Goose Barn in late June. It feels a million miles away from the busyness of everyday life without being inaccessible. Eating dinner in the garden with views over the fields and sea was so peaceful with no road noise. Swimming, beautiful coves, lovely walks and cycle rides are all nearby (wetsuit wash was useful). It was good to have fast Internet (easily enough for Netflix on the TV) and 4G phone signal. The house was well fitted out and very comfy beds. Table-tennis and games room was brilliant entertainment for a rainy afternoon. A lovely place for a week. We will definitely stay at Wild Goose Barn again.
